Megastar Mammootty’s The Great Father release confirmed

Release of Mammootty’s upcoming movie The Great Father written and directed by debutant Haneef Adeni has been postponed. Initially scheduled for a Christmas release, the movie has now been postponed to release on January 27 next year.

August Cinemas, owned by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shaji Natesan, Santhosh Sivan and Arya is producing this movie. The new release date was informed through their official Facebook page. Apparently, dubbing and other post production works for the movie will take some more time.

It seems that the makers are not compromising on the quality aspect of the movie just for the sake of releasing during the Christmas season.

The Great Father is a much expected movie by both fans and the common audience. Expectations went high after the release of the first look posters. Each main character had a separate poster. Mammootty is playing the character David in a stylish bearded avatar.

Kollywood actor Arya is also playing prominent part while Shaam is appearing in a guest role as a police officer. Sneha, Mia George, Kammatipadam fame Manikandan Achari, Baby Anikha will play other important characters.

Roby Varghese Raj is wielding the camera while Gopi Sunder will be composing the music for this revenge drama.

They believes that Mohanlal’s presence is the reason why Janata Garage had collected such a huge money, as no other films of Jr. NTR not collected 100 crore till Janata Garage. Mohanlal has got great applause for his performance in that film, from all over the globe as well.

Memories of a Machine, a short film starring Kani Kusruti has been trending virally in social media pages for the past few days. It has been receiving mixed response ever since the release, with many people criticizing that it sends an immoral message to the society.

The film shows a woman sharing her first sexual experience with her husband. She narrates an incident that happened to he while she was only 8 years old. The peon in her school had touched her private parts and that is when she felt an orgasm for the first time in her life. The protagonist is very comfortable taking about the incident which she considers caused no harm for her.

But apparently the message that the movie conveys has not gone well with many people. Severe criticisms were lashed at the makers for glorifying child abuse and pedophiles.

Two women have released a video against this short film in question. They believe that it sends a very wrong message about a serious threat that is prevailing in the society for many years now. They claim that it is not the kind of message we would want to convey to our younger peers. They are opposing the short film because they feel that the makers have romanticized such a critical issue like child abuse.

This video here clearly justifies the criticism faced by the short film with real people coming out and sharing their strong views against the short film Memories of a machine .

Memories of a Machine is a critically acclaimed short film directed by Karnataka based filmmaker Shailaja Padindala. Memories of a Machine was screened at international festivals like Seattle South Asian Film Festival and Bangalore Queer Film Festival.

It also received appreciation at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, Chennai International Short Film Festival, ViBGYOR Film Festival, and Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival—all this year.

The Great Father directed by debutant Haneef Adeni is a much expected movie of Megastar Mammootty. The movie was initially scheduled for a Christmas release, but now the release has been postponed to January next year.

Sources inform that the post production and dubbing works will take more time. Apparently the makers are not compromising on quality for a release during the festival season.

Mammootty is playing the character David in the movie. Kollywood actor Arya is also playing a pivotal role in the movie. Another Kollywood Shaam is reportedly playing a guest role as a police officer. Sneha, Mia George, Kammatipadam fame Manikandan Achari, Baby Anikha are also part of the cast.

Now sources inform us that, Nadirshah is in talks with Megastar Mammootty for a new movie. Scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, this movie is believed to be a family entertainer.

Nadirshah has said that nothing has been official as of now. Talks are on but Mammootty is currently busy with some other prior commitments.

Benny P Nayarambalam has earlier worked with Mammootty in movies like Thommanum Makkalum, Pothan Vava, Chattambinadu, Annan Thambi etc. Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus was their last movie together.

Mammootty is currently shooting for director Ranjith’s new movie Puthan Panam. Some other projects with directors like Shafi, Shyam Dhar and Akhil Paul are also in the pipeline.

On September 8 this year, his Malayalam movie with Complete Actor Mohanlal had released and the movie titled Oppam had become one of the all-time biggest blockbusters in Mollywood History and the biggest box office success in the career of Priyadarshan in Mollywood.

It is now the 3rd highest grosser ever in this industry and also the second highest grosser this year in Mollywood.

Now, in a recent media interaction, Priyadarshan said that he is planning to do movies in Malayalam with Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan and Fahad Fazil next, apart from the two Bollywood projects which had committed. One of the Bollywood movies of him will be the Hindi Remake of Oppam and the other one will be with Akshay Kumar in the lead.

Priyadarshan said that the story for the Mohanlal movie has been ready and he will start that project before his Hindi movie if the script work completed in the right time. After that he will do movies with Dulquer Salmaan and Fahad Fazil for producers like Maniyan Pillai Raju and G Suresh Kumar.

Reports says that he is planning to do a movie with Mohanlal-Prithviraj team as well in Malayalam, written by Sreenivasan.

Jagathy Sreekumar was earlier also reported as dead. The actor met with a serious car accident 3 years back. The actor is now recuperating well and returning back to normal life. It is very unfortunate that people are spreading such baseless news. It is a condemnable act and such persons should be punished by the law.

The flick had completed 50 days run here in Kerala and still it is unstoppable at box office. This weekend also showing heavy response for the movie at screens here in Kerala.

It is just stunning that even after crossing 50 days and 27500 shows here in Kerala, extra shows has been adding in theaters and extra screens are adding to accommodate the heavy crowd.

Still there are people in all major centers in Kerala who did not able to watch the film because of the unavailability of tickets on weekends.

Aanandam fame Vishak Nair who played the character Kuppi, will be playing a part in Puthan Panam. The excited actor shared the big news through his official Facebook page.

Vishak Nair was appreciated for his performance as K U Unnikrishnan Pillai, fondly called Kuppi by his friends. He had his moments in Aanandam, when a throughout jovial Kuppi emotes and shows his other side to his friends.

Playing a part in a Mammootty starrer directed by an ace filmmaker like Ranjith, that too in his second movie is indeed a moment of pride and joy for Vishak Nair.
