Jeethu Joseph and Biju Menon to team up for Thaskaran

According to latest reports, Jeethu Joseph will be directing a new movie with Biju Menon in the lead. The movie titled as Thaskaran is based on the book Thaskaran: Maniyan Pillayude Aathmakatha based on the story of a real life robber Maniyan Pillai from Kollam, who later became a reformed man.

GR Indugopan who is the author of the book is also writing the script for the film. This is the second time after Dileep starrer Life of Josutty, that Jeethu Jospeh is working on another person’s script.

Eventhough Kayamkulam Kochunni and Itthikkara Pakki are robbers, they are considered as heroes by the Malayalis. There have been many movies and TV shows glorifying their life. Now the latest addition to the list is Maniyan Pillai’s life.

Jeethu Joseph in a recent interview has said that the script works of the film is currently underway. He added that they haven’t still decided about when the movie will start rolling as he is busy with other commitments.

Jeethu Joseph will be working with Pranav Mohanlal next year as announced earlier. The scripting works for this most expected movie which said to be a thriller is also progressing.

The director has also announced a woman centric movie with actress Kavya Madhavan in the lead. His last release Oozham with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead was an average grosser in the box office.

Biju Menon will also be playing the lead role along with Indrajith Sukumaran in a movie directed by debutant Anzar Khan. This movie titled as Lakshyam is written by Jeethu Joseph.

We had earlier reported that Young Megastar Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie Solo directed by Bejoy Nambiar went on floors this week. Model turned actress Arthi Venkatesh is playing the female lead in this movie.

The director had earlier told that the movie will have another popular actress essaying a pivotal role. Now we get information that Ann Augustine is playing this part.

After her marriage to popular Malayalam cinematographer Jomon T John, the talented actress stayed away from movies before doing director Lal Jose’s Neena.

Ann Augustine will be playing actor Anson Paul’s pair in the movie. Anson is a noted actor for his performances in movies like Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam, Oozham and more recently in Sivakarthikeyan’s Tamil movie Remo.

Director Bejoy Nambiar had said that the movie will be an experimental one, a first of its kind in Malayalam cinema. Shoot will happen in two to three different schedule at various locations in Kochi, Mumbai and Ladakh.

Bejoy Nambiar’s home banner Getaway Films and Abaam Movies is jointly producing this movie.

Solo is expected to hit the theatres only by mid 2017.

Actors Dileep and Kavya Madhavan’s wedding is currently the talk of the town. The two actors got married in a private hotel in Kochi on Saturday after all the gossips and rumours that were linked about their secret relationship.

Ever since the wedding, audience and the media are waiting for Dileep’s first wife actress Manju Warrier’s response. Some online medias even reported some false reports claiming it to be Manju Warrier’s response after the wedding.

Manju Warrier has now updated a post in her official Facebook page with the picture of late revolutionary Cuban President, Fidel Castro who passed away yesterday. We believe that the status posted with the picture is also her response to the wedding.

She has written about Fidel Castro being an inspiration to revolutionaries across the world. He fought alone for the truth and justice he believed in. The majority was against him but people who believed in his vision stood by him. He defeated the powerful opponents through strong belief in his ideologies and principles. His book My Life inspired her to never say quits in life.

Manju’s post is now trending in social media pages. It is believed that she has indirectly responded to the wedding. Manju was heavily criticized by the Malayali audience when the two got divorced in January 2015. She was criticized for leaving behind her family to pursue her acting careeer. Dileep-Manju Warrier couple’s daughter Meenakshi chose to stay with her father after the divorce. This further made it worse for the actress as people blamed her being an irresponsible mother.

Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, directed by Nadirshah is continuing its good run in theatres amidst the currency issue that is affecting the film industry.

Vishnu Unnikrishnan palyed the role in this movie which also starred Dharmajan Bolgatty, Salim Kumar, Siddique, Siju Wilson, Prayaga Martin, Lijomol Jose and a host of other supporting actors.

Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan scripted the movie. This is the writer duo’s second movie after Nadirshah’s debut movie Amar Akbar Anthony.

Hero of the movie Vishu Unnikrishnan recently in an interview shared how the movie happened and more.

“Initially during the scripting and narrating the script to Nadirshah, we had a different cast in mind. The main hero role was sketched for a lead actor and I was supposed to do the friend, Dasappan’s character. Dasappan was an interesting character with lot of humour and emotions.”

“We were very much sure that the audience would love this character. I thought somehow, the role will finally come to me. But after hearing the script, director Nadirshsah wanted me to do the lead role. Bibin George also supported that. My looks and body language were apt for the lead character in the movie.”

“I was very tensed at the beginning, always thinking about whether the audience would accept me. May be that’s why Nadirshah used a tagline for the posters – story about a man with many limitations. That tagline gave me more confidence. This movie is a result of Nadirshah’s courage and bravery. He was brave enough to cast an actor like me in a lead role”.

Vishnu Unnikrishnan has acted in many uncredited roles in around 20 theatres. His dialogue insulting Salim Kumar’s character Sranku in the movie Mayavi made him familiar with the masses.

Mohanlal will be playing a double role in the movie with three different get ups. He will seen as Major Mahadevan in the character. This character’s transition in different time periods will be shown in the film. He is also playing Major Mahadevan’s father’s character.

1971 Beyond Borders is a war movie based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Apart from a war movie, it is a story about those soldiers who fight in the war for the country. It will also focus on an endearing father-son relationship. There are many fathers and sons in our country who have worked in the army. They will be able to relate their lives to this movie.

1971 Beyond Borders is a big budget movie also starring Telugu actor Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh. Model turned actress Priyanka Chowdary is making her debut through this movie funded by Haneef Ahmed under the banner Red Rose Creations.

Shooting is currently underway in Suratgarh desert region in Rajasthan. This schedule will be over by November 25th. Palakkad and Uganda are the other locations.

Actors like Renji Panicker, Saiju Kurup and Sudheer Karamana are playing supporting roles in the movie. Sujith Vassudev is the cinematographer while Rahul Subramanian and Sidharth Vipin will be scoring the music.

1971 Beyond Borders is scheduled to release on March 27 next year.

Senior director Sathyan Anthikad’s upcoming movie is Jomonte Suvisheshangal with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead.

In a recent interview, the director shared his experience working with young star Dulquer Salmaan. He said, “Mammootty is my friend but I did not look at Dulquer as my friend’s son. He is an independent artist with great talent. As an actor he is not in his father’s shade.

Mammootty has appeared in guest roles in Sathyan Anthikad movies like Gandhi Nagar Second Street, Kinnaram etc. He first acted in a full fledged role in Sreedharante Onnam Thirumurivu. Later he starred in movies like Kalikkalam, Artham etc.

Both Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan’s movies are releasing this year. Mammootty’s The Great Father directed by Haneef Adeni is also releasing this Christmas. Sathyan Anthikad said that like a normal audience, he is also waiting to see success of both the movies.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal, written by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram is produced by Sethu Mannarkkadu under the banner Full Moon Cinemas.

Aanandam movie releasing in GCC on December 1st

Aanandam directed by debutant Ganesh Raj had seven new comers playing the lead roles. The movie was released on October 21st in Kerala.

The film deals with the story of a group of students from an engineering college, who are on a tour as part of their Industrial Visit.

Upon release the movie was met with good response from both the audience and the critics. After the good initial response, the movie was extended to more theatres. It was released outside Kerala in centres like Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Mangalore.

Aanandam has entered the sixth week of its theatrical run. The film sans any big stars is still running successfully in 30 theatres in Kerala.

Now the news is that Aanandam is releasing in Gulf countries from December 1. This is the first time a Malayalam movie is being released by an Indian company in GCC centres.

B Cinemas owned by a businessman of Kerala origin is releasing the movie in GCC.

Aanandam is produced by actor/singer/director Vineeth Sreenivasan. This is his first production venture. He co-produced the movie along with Vinod under under the banner Habit of Life and Cast n Crew.

It is a light hearted entertainer with good music by debutant Sachin Warrier and beautiful visuals by Director of Photography Anend C Chandran.
