Mohanlal celebrates Pulimurugan 100 crore success in 1971 Beyond Borders set

Mollywood’s all time blockbuster movie Pulimurugan has officially entered the 100 crore club becoming the first Malayalam movie to achieve the feat.

The complete actor Mohanlal is currently shooting for his new movie 1971 Beyond Borders in Rajasthan. He celebrated the success of Pulimurugan with the team of his new movie.

Mohanlal had shared photos of him cutting the cake as part of the celebration in his official Facebook page. Director Major Ravi, Sudheer Karamana, Renji Panicker, cinematographer Sujith Vassudev and other crew members were also seen with Mohanlal.

1971 Beyond Borders is a war movie based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Mohanlal will be playing the role of Major Mahadevan for the fourth time after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar.

He will be playing dual roles in the movie. One as Major Mahadevan and the other as his father who is also a soldier who fought in the 1971 war.

1971 Beyond Borders is a big budget movie produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner Red Rose Creations.

Earlier we had reported that director Ranjith’s next movie will have Mammootty in the lead and it was titled Vamban.

But apparently the director has now made it clear that his next movie will be with Mammootty which he will be scripting, but it will not be Vamban. The project has not been titled as of now.

Mammootty and Ranjith have earlier teamed up for movies like Kaiyyoppu, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathira kolapathakathinte Katha and Pranchiyettan and the Saint. Ranjith has assured that this new film will be entirely different from their earlier movies.

The news about Vamban was recieved with great response from the Mega star’s fans. Vamban was touted to be a mass masala entertainer. But now Ranjith has cleared airs that all the news that was published about the movie were not true.

Meanwhile Mammootty is shooting for The Great Father directed by debutant Haneef Adeni which is produced by August Cinemas. The Great Father is a much expected movie by the fans and the common audience. It will be a revenge thriller and is scheduled for a Christmas release.

Mammootty also has some other projects in his kitty. He has signed for movies with directors like Shafi, Shyam Dhar, Ajai Vasudev and Akhil Paul. Madhupal’s magnum opus Karnan is also in its initial stage

South India’s one of the most popular actor Jayaram’s son Kalidas Jayaram’s first movie as a hero, Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum is releasing on November 11th.

Kalidas Jayaram in a recent interview has shares his thoughts about the big Ms of Mollywood, Mohanlal and Mammootty. The star kid has said that he shares a very close relationship with Mammootty, who guides him more often about his academics and career. In fact it was Mammootty who asked Kalidas Jayaram to do his bachelors in Loyala College, Chennai.

Kalidas Jayaram also said that like every other Malayali, he is also a very big fan of Mohanlal and his movies. He watches all Mohanlal movies on the first day itself. He added that he watched Pulimurugan, the recent sensation, on the first day itself.

Kalidas has earlier acted as a child artist in movies like Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal and Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum. He won the National award for best child actor for his performance in the movie Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum. Interestingly in both the movies he acted as Jayaram’s son.

Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum is a fantasy entertainer written and directed by Amudeshwar.

The movie also stars veteran actors like Prabhu and Urvashi. Pooja Kumar and Ashna Zaveri are playing the female leads in the movie. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is also playing a cameo in the movie. .

Kalidas will be making his debut in Malayalam with the next movie directed by Abrid Shine. The movie is titled as Poomaram and it will be a campus based entertainer..

Sreekumaran Thampi is one of the most senior and respected filmmakers in Mollywood. He is also a producer, screenwriter and a lyricist. He has directed a number of super hit movies with the then superstars of Malayalam cinema.

The veteran director has now taken a decision not to make movies with superstars. This is because these stars are not willing to give dates for new projects.

He accused that even actors who had made their debut through his movies are not giving him dates. The director says, nowadays cinema is not in the hands of directors or producers. Stars are the ones who decide the proceedings. Every prominent star has made a comfortable group for himself.

Sreekumaran Thampi is now working in serials, where he says there are no superstars. He says, even if there any such stars he can easily kill of their character. But that is not possible in film industry.

Sreekumaran Thampi had made some wonderful movies like Bandhukkal Shathrukkal, Nayaattu, Kanakkum Kavithayum, Gaanam, Mohiniyattam, Thiruvonam etc.

He was honoured with the Vallathol award this year for his contributions and works in poetry.

Megastar Mammootty visits his school teacher in Dubai

Mammootty was recently in Dubai for a function arranged by a popular radio channel. There he visited his school teacher who taught him in his 8th grade.

In 2013, during his birthday function Mammootty had shared his memories about Saramma teacher through the radio channel. The teacher replied back with a hand written letter for her beloved student.

Saramma teacher’s daughter Neena arranged for a phone call between Mammootty and his teacher on the occasion of her 78th birthday. Mammootty had then assured that he will visit her when he is Dubai next time.

Mammootty kept his promise and visited her this time around. Both of them were very happy and shared their memories. He used to call her Saramma sir in his school days.

Saramma teacher said that she was reminded of her beloved student while watching the boy in the movie Pranchiyettan and the Saint. She also added that Mammootty was not a very obedient student.

It was recently through another student that Saramma teacher came to know that Mammootty is actually her student Mohammed Kutty.

Saramma teacher also said that, a teacher can only be happy if his/her student is doing well in their life. She said she feels proud and happy to know that Mammootty still remembers his 8th standard teacher.

Mammootty said that he remembers most of his teachers. Sadly some of them are no more. Both of them had a quality time talking to each other and sharing their school time memories. Mammootty promised to visit her back soon.

What to do with the existing 500 and 1000 Indian rupee notes ?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday announced the scrapping of 500 and 1000 rupee notes from midnight.

This initiative was taken to counter the fake money circulation that is allegedly funding the cross border terrorism.

People are worried about what to do with the 500 and 1000 rupee notes. Here is what you have to do to change these notes.

The government has given 50 days time for changing the notes. Deposit all the old notes of Rs 500 and 1000 in banks or post offices between November 10 and December 30, 2016.

Those who are unable to, can exchange notes till March 31, 2017 at specified RBI offices after furnishing proper declaration by producing valid ID proofs.

ATMs will not be functional on November 9 and at some places on Nov 10 as well.

There will be an initial limit of Rs 10,000 per day and Rs 20,000 per week on withdrawal of money. This limit is to be increased soon.

Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will be accepted at hospitals, drug stores, crematoriums till November 12.

Exchange of old notes for cash upto a limit of Rs 4000 possible at any bank or post office by producing valid ID proof.

There is no restriction on non-cash payments including transactions by cheques, demand drafts, electronic fund transfers, debit and credit cards.

The notes can also be used at designated fueling stations till November 12.

Petrol pumps and retail outlets will have to keep every single entry of cash transaction with Rs 500 and 1000 notes till November 11.

Arrangements have been made at airports so that travelers entering/leaving the country are not affected by the sudden developments.

Our measures to check black money are paying off. A voluntary disclosure scheme for undeclared money saw a good response. A Special Investigating Team is making progress to identify who has sent money abroad.

He also said that already 1.25 lakh crores of black money has been recovered by the government.

According to latest reports Amala Paul is being considered as the female lead in the Telugu version of Malayalam blockbuster Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

The movie will be directed by Anish Krishna and will have popular Telugu actor Allari Naresh reprising Nivin Pauly’s role from the original.

The director has re-written the screenplay to suit the nativity of the Telugu audience. The makers had earlier considered several names for the female lead before going for Amala Paul.

The actress is yet to hear a narration as she is abroad for a shooting purpose. Only after she hears the final draft an official confirmation about her starring will be available.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie was a comedy entertainer with a very relevant message. The movie was written by Vineeth Sreenivasan and directed by debutant G Prajith. Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Vineeth Sreenivasan played the lead roles in the movie.

Debutant Manjima Mohan played the female lead in Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

Meanwhile, Amala Paul who is having a tough period in her marriage life has also signed some other movies. She will be seen in Dhanush’s trilogy gangster thriller Vada Chennai directed by Vetrimaran. She has also signed for Thiruttu Payale 2 starring Prasanna and Bobby Simha.

She was last seen in Mollywood in the movie Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum starring Jayasurya and Kunchako Boban.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who addressed the country today has made an unexpected announcement.

From midnight Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will be illegal. Citizens have 50 days from Nov 10 to return notes at banks, post offices.

Narendra Modi has said that 1.25 lakh crores of black money has been recovered from the country. We need to take a new solid step to fight black money. From now on, Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will not be used, said the Prime Minister.

On November 9 and in some places on November 10, ATMs will not work in the country.

Government hospitals will accept old Rs 500 and 1000 notes till 11 November midnight. Petrol pumps and retail outlets will have to keep every single entry of cash transaction with 500 and 1000 notes till November 11.

Crematoriums and cemeteries will also be allowed to transact 500 and 1000 notes till November 11. There will be no change in any other form of currency exchange be it cheque, DD, payment via credit or debit cards etc.

Those unable to deposit Rs 1000, Rs 500 notes by December 30 for some reason, can change them till March 31, 2017 by producing their ID proof.

Notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 will be circulated soon. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to limit the notes with higher value
