Neeraj Madhav’s debut as a hero : Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam

Neeraj Madhav is one of the busiest young generation actors in Mollywood. The actor has made a mark for himself in the industry in a very short period of time.

The actor is taking a giant stride through his latest movie Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam, through which he is making his debut as a hero.

Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam focuses on romance, comedy and some relevant social issues. It will be a full on fun ride.

Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam will have Neeraj Madhav as the lead. The actor will be seen as a lover boy in the movie, a role tailor made for him.

The movie will be shot at Thanthonithuruth, an island near Kochi, will also focus on a social values.

The film is directed by new comer Domin D’silva and produced by K V Vijaya Kumar Palakunnu under the banner of Aishwarya Sneha movies He had earlier produced the Dulquer Salmaan starrer 100 days of Love.

The script is penned by director Domin D’silva himself along with Antony Jibin. Bijibal will be handling the music department of the movie. The film will start rolling by mid of January.

Meanwhile Neeraj Madhav is also acting in Tovino Thomas-Roopesh Peethambaran’s next movie Oru Mexican Aparatha, directed by Tome Emmatty. He will be playing the role of Govind, a student leader in Oru Mexican Aparatha.

Kalidas Jayaram, son of popular Mollywood actor Jayaram is making his debut here as hero through the campus movie named Poomaram directing by Abrid Shine.

Even though he had acted in two Malayalam films as a child artist, Poomaram will be his first Malayalam movie as a hero here.

He had already completed two Tamil flicks before doing his first movie as hero in Malayalam. Poomaram had begun filming in September and it is a fun film based on the campus life, in which lots of fresh faces doing important characters.

Now, a report is coming in that popular actor Kunchacko Boban is playing a part in this movie. Reports says that he is playing a cameo in this movie and he will be coming as Kunchacko Boban in this flick.

If it is true, then it will be a great news for the Malayalam film lovers, as there will be another reason for them to wait for the movie. Kunchacko Boban was once the most popular hero in Campuses of Kerala, doing some superb films based on Campus life.

Kalidas Jayaram had earlier acted in Malayalam films like Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal by Sathyan Anthikkad and Ente veedu Apoontem by Sibi Malayil. In both those films, Jayaram played the lead role. In fact Jayaram played the father character of Kalidas in both those movies.

This team had given us many super successful movies like Nadodikattu, Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, Pattana Pravesham, Varavelppu, Gandhi Nagar Second street etc and the Dasan and Vijayan character pair played by Mohanlal and Sreenivasan in Sathyan Anthikkad movies is still the most celebrated onscreen character pair in Mollywood.

Now, a report is coming in that this trio is all set to unite next year for a movie. It will be a political satire written by Sreenivasan and Mohanlal will play the lead in it, says Sathyan Anthikad. The project is only in the planning stage now and they had not yet landed on it.

Varavelppu released in 1989 is the last film this trio had done together. Later Mohanlal-Sreenivasan team and Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikkad team worked together in many movies.

Sathyan Anthikkad-Sreenivasan team also done movies together. But the union of this trio was not happened.

Now, after 28 years, it is going to happen next year and it’s really an exciting prospect to look forward to. Sathyan Anthikkad said that it will be a humorous film like Sandhesham as well.

We saw many films creating records in box office. But what two Mohanlal films had done here in Mollywood for the past two months has been just incredible and stunning.

It was a never seen before box office hunt from the biggest star and greatest actor in Mollywood history. His films named Oppam and Pulimurugan, which released on September 8th and October 7th respectively, had hunted down all existing box office records in Malayalam Cinema History and creating new milestones each and every day.

Oppam had crossed 56 crores from worldwide run and Puli Murugan had grossed near 70 crores from its worldwide run. Both these films had made all-time records in most of the screens and cities here in Kerala.

Now, in Calicut City, both Oppam and Pulimurugan created history by crossing 1 crore+ from the single screens alone.

From Calicut Radha alone, Oppam had grossed 1 crore+ from 50 days. Drishyam is the highest single screen grosser from Calicut as it had a gross around 1.69 crore from there.

From Calicut Film City, Oppam had grossed close to 37 lakhs and the total Calicut city figure of Oppam had crossed 1.38 crores. Pulimurugan on the other hand, had crossed 1.13 crores from Calicut single screens alone, in just 21 days time.

The Film City collection is not available now and it will be updated later. But it is now damn sure that Pulimurugan will become the first ever Malayalam Movie to gross around 2 crore from Calicut single screens.

Chef is directed by Raja Krishna Menon who previously directed Akshay Kumar’s blockbuster movie Airlift. The movie had a schedule in Kochi recently.

Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan nearing 75 crore mark

Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan released during the Pooja holidays is still running successfully with houseful shows in most theatres.

This weekend also coinciding with the Diwali holidays helped in triggering great rush in theatres all over Kerala.

Pulimurugan is nearing the 75 crore mark and will soon become the first Malayalam movie to do so. From the first two weeks itself, Pulimurugan collected around 60 crores from the box office.

Mohanlal’s Drishyam was the previous record holder. Drishyam was crime drama directed by Jeethu Joseph. Drishyam’s lifetime collections was 68.15 crores. Pulimurugan took only 23 days to beat this record.

Pulimurugan had a tremendous opening reception due to the hype and sky high expectations. The movie collected around 4 crores each from the first three days. 4.06 crores from the first day, 4.03 crores from the second day and 4.83 from the third day were the initial weekend collections. In total, Pulimurugan collected 12.91 crores from the first three days.

That way, Pulimurugan became the fastest 10 crore grosser in Malayalam. In the following weeks, box office collections increased with the help of highly positive word of mouth.

Pulimurugan also became the fastest 20 and 25 grosser in Malayalam cinema. The movie grossed 25 crores from the first week of its theatrical run itself. 25.43 crores was collected in the first week from 305 theatres in and outside Kerala. Pulimurugan took only 14 days to touch the prestigious 50 crore mark.

From November 4 onwards, Pulimurugan will be screened in around 100 theatres in Britain and also in 12 other countries in Europe. PJ Entertainments based in London acquired the distribution rights for European countries.

The movie is also releasing on November 3rd in 56 theatres in UAE and GCC.

Pulimurugan will be having the biggest release for a Malayalam movie in Europe. It will be screened in 150 theatres in Europe.

Apart from Britain, Pulimurugan will also be released in countries like Germany, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Malta and Italy. English subtitles will also be available for the European release.

Pulimurugan has also released in Britain with advance in 4 centres. The movie was screened in East Ham London, Manchester, Birmingham and Coventry.

Pulimurugan is expected to reach the 100 crore mark anytime soon.

We had already reported that popular Bollywood director Bejoy Nambiar is coming to Mollywood this year with a Dulquer Salmaan movie.

Bejoy Nambiar is a Malayali, but he made his debut as a movie director in Bollywood, through the movie named Shaitan.

Later he directed movies in Tamil and Hindi, like David with Vikram and Wazir with Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar.

Bejoy Nambiar had made his directorial debut through a silent short film named Reflections, in which Mohanlal had played the lead role.

Now, a report is coming in that his first Malayalam movie with Dulquar Salman in the lead had got a title. Reports says that Bejoy Nambiar-Dulquer Salmaan movie is titled as Solo.

The film will also be produced by Bejoy Nambiar’s own production company named Gate Way. Bejoy Nambiar said that he want to do a very different film with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead and it was always his dream to do a movie in his mother language.

He had worked with Mani Ratnam, before he had made his entry to film field as a director. The shoot of this upcoming movie will begin in November last as per reports.

Dulquer Salmaan is now in the set of Sathyan Anthikkad movie named Jomonte Suvisheshangal and he will have to complete the final schedule of Amal Neerad movie as well before starting this project from Bejoy Nambiar.

Aanandam directed by debutant Ganesh Raj was released on October 21st. The movie received good initial response from the audience.

Both critics and common audience have given positive reviews for the movie. Gradually the movie is making a mark in the box office collections also.

Aanandam revolves around students in an engineering college who are on a tour as part of their Industrial Visit.

Most of the crew members in the movie are youngsters. Playback singer Sachin Warrier turned to an independent music director through Aanandam. Cinematography was handled by Premam fame Anend C Chandran.

Seven new have faces played the main lead in Aanandam. All of them had equal importance and their performances were highly appreciated.

After a good initial response, shows in many theatres were increased all around Kerala. Aanandam was also released in many new centres after the good response. Only Pulimurugan and Oppam are running successfully in theatres on Kerala.

Aanadam carries an youthfulness and freshness that has found the liking of the audience. College students form the major part of the audience for Aanandam as they can relate very much to the movie.

Often termed as an all-rounder, Vineeth Sreenivasan entered into production through this movie. He produced this movie under his banner Habit of Life along with Vinod Shornur for Cast n Crew.

Director Lal Jose’s distribution company LJ Films Pvt Ltd distributed Aanandam in Kerala.

The movie will be releasing outside Kerala on November 4th. It is also releasing in countries like UK, America and Gulf countries soon.

There is not enough words to describe the unbelievable success getting by Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan in Kerala and all around the world for that matter.

The film had already become the highest ever grosser in Mollywood. The official collection report of the film will come very soon and we learned that the film had grossed above 70 crores from its 23 days run all over.

The Kerala collection of the film 23 days is around 55 crore and from rest of India market, it had earned around 13-14 crore.

In USA also the film had got great response and already crossed 1 crore mark from 7 days run there. The film is getting stunning reception from the advance shows in UK as well. Australia also gave great response for the movie.

We had already reported that the film had done a pre-release business over 15 crore. If we add it to the gross collection of the film till now, then the total revenue earned by the movie is around 85 crore.

The film will hit the screens in UAE and GCC market on the 3rd November and it will be a record release.

In UAE alone it will get near 60 screens and will get more than 100 screens from UAE and GCC area together. In Europe also it will make history on November 4th, as it will grace around 150 screens in 12 European countries on that day.

He already had success as a director as well this year through the movie named Jacobinte Swargarajyam, which had Nivin Pauly in lead role. It had become a blockbuster success grossing around 22 crore from Kerala alone.

Now, in a recent media interaction, Vineeth Sreenivasan said that doing a movie with Mohanlal and his father Sreenivasan is a dream for him.

Mohanlal-Sreenivasan team is one of the most popular onscreen pair in Mollywood. Vineeth Sreenivasan said that he is looking forward to unite this combo again on screen and he already had a story in his mind.

He said that he has not landed in to a screenplay right now and when he completes the screenplay he will start his efforts to make them come together on screen again. Vineeth Sreenivasan is now busy with his film as an actor, titled Aby, directed by Sreekanth Murali.

There are reports that Mohanlal-Sreenivasan team will come together next year for a movie directed by Priyadarshan, and Prithviraj too may play an important character in it.
