Mohanlal-Major Ravi movie 1971 Beyond Borders shooting started

Major Ravi has started shooting for his latest movie titled 1971 Beyond Borders with Mohanlal in the lead.

Shoot for this movie is happening in Rajasthan right now. The movie will be a big budget one set in two time periods.

Mohanlal will join the sets on Tuesday. The movie is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.

Art director Saloo K George has built huge sets resembling army camps and bunkers. The sets were built in Kochi and later transported to Rajasthan.

First schedule of shoot will last for 25 days. Apart from Mohanlal, the movie also stars Telugu actor Allu Sirish, Arunoday Singh, Priyanka Chaudhary, Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana and Saiju Kurup in other important roles.

The story will unfold from the point of view of three soldiers who fought in the 1971 war. This is the fourth time Mohanlal is playing the character of Major Mahadevan in a Major Ravi movie.

Mohanlal will be playing the role of Mahadevan in a career span showing his official position both as a Major and Colonel. He will also be playing the character of Mahadevan’s father in the movie.

Major Ravi had earlier said that this will not be just another war movie. Similar to his previous release Picket 43 with Prithviraj, the movie will be focus more on human sentiments and relationships. The movie will show the various emotions and difficulties a soldier has to undergo during a war period.

The movie will also have scenes about Major Ravi’s father who was a soldier who was part of the army during the 1971 war.

Major Ravi has said war sequences will be shot in high quality using latest techniques available.

Shooting will take place in Rajasthan, Punjab and Kashmir. Climax portions will be shot in Kashmir. Some portions will also shot in Uganda.

Sujith Vassudev is handling the cinematography while Rahul Subramaniam and Sidharth Vipin are composing music for the movie.

1971 Beyond Borders is produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner Red Rose Creations.

Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan continues to get excellent response from all the release centers. The movie has already crossed the 60 crore mark and is expected to end up as the highest grosser in Mollywood.

Pulimurugan was releasing in 4 centres in Britain yesterday. The movie was screened in advance in 4 centres in East Ham London, Manchester, Birmingham and Coventry.

All the shows were houseful for the movie. Pulimurugan has got a tremendous opening in Britain. It is very rare for a Malayalam movie to get such an overwhelming reception in Britain.

From November 4 onwards, Pulimurugan will be screened in around 100 theatres in Britain and also in 12 other countries in Europe.

PJ Entertainments based in London have acquired the distribution rights for European countries.

The movie has already grossed around 60 crores in 3 weeks in India, so trade experts believe that the movie can continue its good run overseas also. Its school vacation time in England, so families are expected to turn up in large numbers to watch the movie.

Advanced screening will start in Boleyn Cinemas London, Manchester, Coventry and Piccadily theater in Birmingham.

Pulimurugan will be having the biggest release for a Malayalam movie ever in Europe. The movie will be screened in 150 theatres in Europe.

Apart from Britain, the movie will also be released in countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Malta, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

Earlier it was decided that advanced screening will start on Tuesday in 4 theatres but certification procedures were delayed and hence the date had to postponed.

When Mohanlal’s all blockbuster movie Drishyam was released in England, theatres witnessed a never before seen crowd. Sources indicate that more audience are expected this time for Pulimurugan.

Pulimurugan was released in 325 theatres on October 7th. The first day collections itself accounted to 4.05 crores, a new record in Mollywood.

Pulimurugan is expected to gross over 100 crores. Reports indicate that the movie has already raked in an amount of around 15 crores from the audio, overseas and satellite rights.

The massive success of Pulimurugan is one of the major reason for this change. Pulimurugan made in a budget has already collected over 60 crores within a month of its release. This is a remarkable achievement and is inspiring for many new projects.

Mammootty’s Karnan, which has long been in the news for its uncertainty is finally getting some good now. Actor/writer P Sreekumar who is the scriptwriter of this movie has said that the movie is certainly happening and pre-production works have already started.

Karnan will be made on a budget of 70 crores. The plot of the movie will be focusing on the life, relationships of the historical character Karnan from Mahabaratha.

P Sreekumar also said that Kurukshetra war will be one of the most important part in the movie. These portions will be the major highlight of this epic drama.

Mammootty’s Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja released back in 2010 is still the most expensive movie made in Mollywood. It was am epic action drama about the pre independence struggle by a ruler.

Interestingly, RS Vimal who debuted with Ennu Ninte Moideen is also doing a movie based on the life of Karnan. Prithviraj is playing the main lead. The movie is a bilingual that will also have many other popular stars from other industries.

This movie is produced on a whopping budget of 300 crores. Preproduction works have already started in Ramoji Rao Film city in Hyderabad.

It will be very interesting to see two of the finest actors portraying the life of a same character. Mollywood will be witnessing something very unique.

Popular director Ranjith Sankar who is known for his movies like Passenger, Punyalan Agarbathis and Pretham recently shared his thoughts about the state awards in his Facebook page.

The director criticized the government’s decision to commercialize the event. He also asked whether the government needs a private TV channel and sponsors to conduct the State Award function.

Ranjith Sankar has written that an industry which pays so much tax to the system deserved better treatment.

Kerala State Award functions are not usually a very glamorous and commercial program. The award distribution ceremony of Kerala State Film Awards 2015 was held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Palakkad on October 15.

Many prominent film and political personalities graced the event. Sanal Kumar Sashidharan’s Ozhivu Divasathe Kali was selected as the best movie, while young star Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy were selected for the best actors for Charlie. Parvathy Menon also won the award for her performance in Ennu Ninte Moideen.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan awarded the winners for their performances.

A section of the netizens have supported the director questioning the need to commercialize the event.

Some others feel that commercializing the event with a TV channel and sponsors can ensure wider reach for the program.

Ranjith Sankar’s last release was Pretham starring Jayasurya, Aju Varghese, Sharafudheen and Govind Padmasoorya in the lead. The movie was opened to positive reviews and was declared a hit in the box office.

The official list of movies selected to India Panorama Category of 47th International Film Festival of India 2016 (IFFI 2016) has been published. 26 movies have been selected for screening.

The list include SS Raajmouli’s magnum opus Bahubali : The Beginning and Malayalam filmmaker Jayaraj’s yet to be released tri-lingual movie Veeram.

3 Malayalam movies have selected for the festival. They are Kaadu Pookuna Neram directed by Dr Biju, Roopanthram directed by MB Padmakumar, and Jayaraj’s epic adventure drama Veeram.

The Jury has recommended Sanskrit film Ishti directed G. Prabha as the Opening Feature Film of Indian Panorama 2016.

Bajirao Mastani directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Saala Khadoos directed by Sudha Kongara, Airlift directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Salman Khan starrer Sultan directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Sairat directed by Nagraj Manjule are some of the other movies that have made to the India Panorama Category of 47th International Film Festival of India 2016.

Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan is continuing its terrific run in the box office. The movie has already collected over 60 crores from three weeks of its release.

Recently, it became the first movie in Malayalam cinema history to collect 50 crores from Kerala box office.

The movie also broke the record held by Mohanlal’s 2013 blockbuster Drishyam for the all time collections in Kerala.

Pulimurugan’s director Vysakh has assured that the movie will collect 100 crores from the Malayalam version itself.

There are plans to remake the movie in other industries. Telugu dubbed version Manyam Puli will be released next month.

Pulimurugan’s massive success has shown that big budget movies can reap huge commercial success. Pulimurugan’s success has inspired many filmmakers in Mollywood to plan movies on a large scale.

There has been reports earlier that Mollywood Megastar Mammootty may share screen space with Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay in his 60th movie named Bhairava directed by Bharathan, which is in the final stages on its shoot now.

Mammootty said to have opted out from the movie because of his tight schedule here in Mollywood. He was approached to play the villain character in it, says reports.

Now, a report is coming in that Mammootty may play a role in Vijay’s upcoming film with Atlee. It is tentatively titled as Vijay 61 and unconfirmed reports says that Mammootty may share screen space with Vijay in this movie, by playing an important role.

Thenandel Films said to be producing this movie and reports says that it will have two heroines in it in the form of Kajal Agarwal and Nayanthara.

In 2014, Vijay had shared screen space with Mollywood Super Star Mohanlal in a movie named Jilla, and it had become a super success at box office. It was directed by Nesan.

Atlee-Vijay team is joining for the second time after the blockbuster success of Theri, which released this year. Vijay 61 will begin shooting after the release of Bhairava in 2017 January.

Some reports says that Bahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad is writing the screenplay of the Atlee-Vijay movie.

Mammootty is now finishing up his works in the Malayalam movie The Great Father and then he will have movies from Renjith, Shyam Dhar etc as well.

Anarkali Marikar played the role of Darshana, a cute girl who rarely talks. She is the artist among the group and enjoys being with friends although she is very silent. She has already won hearts of the youths of Kerala with her tomboyish haircut and the big glasses.
