The trend of super hit movies making their way back to their theatres is a rarity in Mollywood. But two of the blockbusters of 2016 are being screening again in multiplexes.
Fahad Fazil starrer Maheshinta Prathikaram and Nivin Pauly’s Action Hero Biju are the two movies we are talking about.
Both the movies were critically and commercially successful. They were released almost during the same period in the beginning of the year.
Maheshinte Prathikaram was a rural entertainer set in Idukki. The plot was revolving around the title character Mahesh Bhavana, his love life and his simple revenge.
The movie was a clean entertainer and was widely praised for bringing back the good old feel good cinema in Mollywood.
Action Hero Biju was a story about a police officer Biju Paulose and his day to day life encounters with various people who come to the police station.
The movie was totally different from other cop stories and followed a different narrative. Instead of a concrete storyline, the plot was developed on events unfolding in a police station in a very realistic manner.
It is a very good initiative to re-release super hit movies so that people who could not enjoy these movies get another chance.
Case against those who spread fake news about Thoppil Joppan
Mammootty’s latest movie Thoppil Joppan released on October 7th is running successfully in theatres.
The movie has already been affected by the fake news and other issues surfacing in social media pages. The makers have finally responded by filing a police complaint.
Producer Noushad Alathoor has filed a complaint before Palakkad SP about spreading fake news and information about the movie.
Some people had shared photos showing TV telecast of the movie. The producer told the media that they have filed for a compensation of 1 crore before the Superintendent of Police.
He also added that family audience are the major supporters of Thoppil Joppan and some people are deliberately trying to bring down the movie and spreading fake information about the movie to stop the families from visiting theatres.
Lets hope that timely intervention happens and the police can stop people from destroying a movie by spreading such false information.
Thoppil Joppan is doing good business in theatres across Kerala. The movie is a light hearted family entertainer with good dosage of humour. Mamta Mohandas and Andrea Jeremiah play the female leads in the movie directed by Johny Antony.
Thala 57 : Vivek Oberai to play villain in Ajith-Siva movie
Thala Ajith who has been keeping a low profile after his last release Vedhalam last year is shooting for his next movie with director Siruthai Siva.
This is the third time Ajith and Siva are joining together for a movie. Their earlier movies were Veeram and Vedalam. Both the movies were commercial successes.
Now the latest reports coming in from some trustworthy sources suggest that Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has been approached to play the villain opposite Ajith in this yet to be titled movie.
This would be Vivek Oberoi’s first Tamil movie film if it happens. Vivek Oberoi has previously played a negative role Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 where his performance was critically appreciated.
It will be interesting to see an established actor from Bollywood giving locking horns with an actor like Ajith who enjoys enormous fan base.
In Ajith’s previous movie with Gautham Menon, Yennai Arinthaal, Arun Vijay played the baddie where he delivered a powerful performance and was raved by the audience.

The movie titled Rakshadikari Baiju will be directed by helmed by scriptwriter-turned-filmmaker Ranjan Pramod.

The complete Actor Mohanlal is always the highest paid actor in Malayalam. From 1986, when he became a super star, he is the star who gets the biggest remuneration per movie here in Mollywood.
From 2013, he received rupees 3 to 3.5 crore as remuneration per movie. The second biggest remuneration was for Mammootty who receives 2-2.5 crore per movie and Dileep also receives around 1.5 crore per movie.
Now, as per the latest report, producers here are ready to give him more than 4 crore per movie as he had delivered 3 back to back record breaking blockbusters in Telugu and Malayalam this year.
His Telugu Film had collected around 140 crore from worldwide run. His Malayalam film Oppam had grossed more than 50 crore from its 40 days run and still doing well.
Pulimurugan is on the other hand, breaking all existing records in Mollywood in rapid pace. It had already collected above 40 crore from its all India run in just 11 days.
