Pulimurugan, the wild hunter is hunting down all the box office records here in Mollywood and it had already become a trendsetter in Mollywood.

This Mohanlal starrer directed by Vysakh and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam had created great frenzy in the state and in rest of India market, the film is doing incredibly well.

Even after completing 7 days here in the state, the rush at screens not seems to be decreasing and still extra shows are being played at many centers here in Kerala.

As per the latest reports from trade analysts, the flick had earned around 30 crores from its 7 days run all around India.

The flick had earned around 27 crores from Kerala in 7 days and earned more than 3 crores from rest of India market as well. The official and exact figures will be updated soon.

Tomichan Mulakupadam reportedly said that the film had earned rupees 15 crore even before its release, through satellite right and overseas rights.

The budget of the movie is 25 crores and it had already become a highly profitable venture for the producer and that too in just 7 day time. It is incredible, says the trade analysts.

The film had created numerous box office records here in Mollywood by now and is continuing with breaking records.

Theatre owners against screening of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees

Karan Johar’s multi starrer Ae dil Hai Mushkil and Shahrukh Khan’s Raees has got into trouble as theatre owners have decided not to release these movies.

The decision was taken in the Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) meeting held on October 14th. Theatre owners from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa and Gujarat participated in the meeting.

They have decided that films with Pakistani artistes will not be screened here. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is playing an important role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is playing the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.

India Pakistan relations have further deteriorated after the Uri attack. Navanirman Sena from Maharashtra earlier threatened that Pakistani actors will not be allowed to act in Indian films.

Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India spokesperson has said that they decided this keeping in mind the patriotic feelings and the national interest of our country.

They have also requested all members and distributors to refrain from screening movies which have involvement of any Pakistani artists, technicians, directors, music directors etc.

He also added that they are also planning to request other associations connected with the film industry to support the sentiments in the interest of the nation.

After the threat from Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS), the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) announced a ban on Pakistani actors. They also requested MNS for a smooth release of films that have already been finished.

Earlier there were also reports about Karan Johar planning to replace Fawad Khan from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, but Dharma Productions have brushed aside these reports as baseless.

The movie also starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma is scheduled to release on October 28th

Vigilance case against Mollywood Super Star Mohanlal

Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court was ordered investigation against Mollywood Super Star Mohanlal for illegal possession of ivory tusk.

The case was filed by Eloor Pandikaadu Paulose. The court ordered an investigation against 12 people. Senior officials from the previous Government, ex-forest minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan have all been accused in the case.

Earlier there was a case against Mohanlal for illegal possession of elephant tusks but the UDF government had apparently squashed the case. The complainant has accused that the previous government intervened in the legal procedures and fabricated the case.

The ivory tusks were confiscated from the actor’s house during a vigilance raid 4 years back. According to the complaint, possession of elephant tusks are illegal and the government has unnecessarily dragged the case for 50 months.

After hearing the petition, Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court has ordered a re investigation in the case.

Big M’s of Mollywood, Mohanlal and Mammootty are all set for another clash this Christmas. Last Friday, both their movies Pulimurugan and Thoppil Joppan were released and opened to good response from the audience.

Munthiri Vallikal Thalirkkumbol starring Mohanlal and Meena in lead roles after Drishyam will face Mammootty’s thriller movie The Great Father in box office this Christmas. Both the movies are rumoured to release on December 23rd.

Mohanlal’s movie is directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob while the debutant Haneef Adeni is directing Mammootty in The Great Father.

Munthiri Vallikal Thalirkkumbol is a family drama where Mohanlal plays the role of Ulahannan, a panchayath secretary. Anoop Menon, Srinda, Aima Sebastian, Prema fame Sharafudheen and Rahul Madhav are also playing supporting roles in the movie. The flick is bankrolled by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters.

The Great Father is produced by Young Super Star Prithviraj Sukumaran under his banner August Cinemas. The movie also stars Kollywood star Arya in a pivotal role. Mammootty is playing a character named David in the movie.

Both these movies are hugely expected. The audience are eagerly waiting for Christmas to see the clash of the Titans of Mollywood again.

Many Tamil natives live around that theater as well. Now it is a proud moment for Malayalees that they had chosen Puli Murugan to screen there and that too with 4 shows playing every day.

In Bangalore, Pulimurugan had 28 shows on its releasing day there. Now on its 8th day, the film had 48 shows there in Bangalore and that says it all.

Mohanlal is getting great amount of appreciation from all over for this movie and many people like director Vysakh, cameraman Shaji, his co-actors etc were stunned to see his effort and the perfection he brings in the fight sequences and they also told in many media interviews that Mohanlal had done all those fights without dupes in the movie.

Still there are people who deliberately trying to insult him by saying that he had used dupes in Pulimurugan. Now, Peter Hein, the stunt master of the film himself come out and said that Mohanlal did all the fights in the movie by himself and did not used dupes even for a single shot in the movie.

Peter Hein said that, usually major stars from other industries will not do risky fight sequences. Dupes will do all risky sequences and stars will do only close up scenes in fights.

But Peter Hein said that Mohanlal had made him stunned by doing all those risky sequences by himself. He got ready to go for any number of takes to make it perfect and never complained and never said no.

Peter Hein said it is the first time in his career that he had seen an actor doing all the stunts in a movie by himself and the dupe came for him standing their without doing anything.

Last week saw a slew of releases in the theatres in Kerala. Mohanlal’s magnum opus Pulimurugan, Mammootty starrer Thoppil Joppan, Asif Ali starrer Kavi Udheshichathu were the Malayalam releases. Kollywood also had few releases last week in Remo, Rekka and Devi(l).

Remo starring Sivakarthikeyan is getting great response from Kerala audience even between all the other big releases. Remo has already had a tremendous opening in Tamil Nadu. The movie was the 3rd biggest opening day grosser in Kollywood for 2016, only behind Kabali and Theri.

Meanwhile audience are enjoying the movie in Kerala also with houseful shows in many centres during the Pooja holidays. Sivakarthikeyan enjoys good fan following in Kerala and the success of Remo is a testimony to that.
