After Kabali and Theri its Sivakarthikeyan’s Remo

Sivakarthikeyan starrer Remo was released last Friday and has been getting largely positive reviews from the TN audience.

Remo was released in around 400 theatres in Tamil Nadu alone. This is a very big figure for an young star’s movie. The movie even had early morning shows something that is usually had for the major actors. Sivakarthikeyan’s rising popularity and fan base has helped a great deal for Remo business wise.

Unconfirmed reports are coming in that Remo has got the 3rd biggest opening in 2016 after Kabali and Theri. Vikram’s Irumugan had earlier collected 5.5 crores from the first day.

Trade experts believe that Remo has collected an amount of over 6 crores from the first day itself. Remo was also simultaneously released in Kerala and some foreign countries.

Remo had a good pre release hype thanks to Sivakarthikeyan’s lady avatar and Anirudh’s sensational songs.

Remo was released alongside 2 other movies, Rekka starring Vijay Sethupathy and Devi(l) starring Prabhudeva in his comeback movie.

Rekka has been getting negative reviews for its clichéd mass masala genre while Devi(l) directed by AL Vijay is getting good response from the audience.

Keerthi Suresh is playing the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan for the 2nd time after Rajini Murugan. Sivakarthikeyan’s performance and the lead cast’s chemistry has been appreciated by the audience.

Remo belongs to the rom-com genre directed by Baakiyaraj Kannan and produced by RD Raja.

I (2015)

This movie has been directed by Shankar and starred by Chiyan Vikram. The film had raked in 3.19 crore from 220 screens here on its first day.

Jilla (2014)

This Tamil film directed by Nesan has Mohanlal and Vijay in lead roles. The flick had got 207 screens here and grossed 2.61 crores on its opening day.

Kasaba (2016)

This Mammootty starrer is directed by debutant Nithin Renji Panicker and the film had released in 120 screens here. It had raked in 2.48 crores from its first day run here in Kerala.

Theri (2016)

This Vijay starrer Tamil movie was directed by Atlee had released in 210 screens here and got around 2.4 crore from its first day run here. There are many fake reports that the film had raked in 3.16 crore from Kerala on first day.

But when we contacted Vijay Babu, who distributed the film here, he confirmed to us that the film had got only around 2.4 crore from here on its first day.

Kali (2016)

Kali is the movie directed by Sameer Thahir and starred by Dulquar Salman. It had released here in 120+ screens and got a figure of 2.33 crores from its first day run.

Kaththi (2014)

This Vijay starrer directed by AR Murugados had got around 165 screens here and it grossed 2.24 crore on its opening day.

Charlie (2015)

This film is directed by Martin Prakatt and starred by Dulquar Salman. It had grossed around 2.18 crore from 120 screens here in Kerala.

Loham (2015)

This Mohanlal movie directed by Renjith had released in 141 screens here in Kerala and it had got around 2.14 crore from here as the opening day collection.

Casanova (2012)

This Mohanlal movie directed by Roshen Andrews had released in 136 screens here and it had earned 2.06 crores from here on first day and it was the first Malayalam movie to gross above 2 crore on first day itself.

At last the official collection report of the movie Pulimurugan had come today. The movie starring Complete Actor Mohanlal in the lead is thrashing all box office records here and it had made several records already here within just 3 day time.

The official collection reports says that the film had earned a record breaking figure of 12.91 crore in just 3 day time from here and now becomes the fastest ever movie released in Kerala to cross the 10 crore mark. The fastest 10 crore grossing record was with Kabali earlier.

Among Malayalam movies, Mohanlal’s Oppam was the fastest movie to cross 10 crore mark. Pulimurugan had thrashed all those records by a earning a figure around 13 crore from just 3 days.

On its first day, it had grossed 4.05 crore from Kerala and become the highest ever first day grosser in Mollywood. It had surpassed Mammootty’s Kasaba which is way behind as it had earned only 2.48 crore from its opening day from here.

On its second day, Pulimurugan had earned a figure of 4.02 and on Sunday, which was its 3rd day, the film had earned a whopping 4.83 crore as well.

Thus the total gross of the movie from Kerala alone in 3 days was 12.91 crore. History has been created by this Mohanlal film.
