Megastar Mammootty Starrer Thoppil Joppan had released all over on 7th October as a Pooja release here in Kerala and now running well at screens here.

This film is a family comedy entertainer and it had got good response from the audience as well. The film is written by Nishad Koya and directed by Johny Antony is a film aimed at the family audience and reports says that the film is attracting the targeted audience.

Now, director Johny Antony comes out through his Facebook page and claimed that his movie had collected above 8 crore rupees from 4 days here in Kerala.

He said that the film had earned a distributor’s share of 4 crores as well from 8 day time. Thoppil Joppan is a movie that is produced by Noushad Alathur under the banner of Grande Film Corporation and reports says that 6 crore is the production cost of this movie.

Mamta Mohandas and Andrea Jeremiah played the female leads in this movie in which Mammootty plays the character of an Achayan. The film had released in 109 screens here in Kerala.

Anyway, the family audience seems to be liked the movie and it will help the film to get long run hopefully. This is a comeback movie of Johny Antony after the failure he had to suffer through Bhayya Bhayya.

Earlier Mohanlal’s Oppam had become the first ever Malayalam movie to gross 50 lakhs from Ariesplex last month. Pulimurugan is now all set to thrash all the records made by movies in Trivandrum city.

Chiyaan Vikram known for his penchant to try out different roles in each of his movies is rumoured as playing the lead in the Tamil version of Hollywood thriller movie  Don’t Breathe (2016).

Unconfirmed reports are doing the rounds about a producer approaching Vikram to play the role that Stephen Lang did in the psychological thriller.

Vikram in his long illustrious career has not yet done a total negative character. If this project happens we will get to see Vikram in a totally different and unseen shade.

In the original, the lead character is a blind person who fights out with robbers that enter his house. Don’t Breathe was both a critically acclaimed and a commercially hit movie.

The makers are apparently in plans to purchase the remake rights of Don’t Breathe.

As of now there is nothing official about the movie. Vikram is currently listening to a couple of scripts for his next film. Recently director Hari announced that he will be working with Vikram for the sequel of Saamy.

Vikram’s latest release Irumugan in which he played double roles is running successfully in theatres.

Mohanlal movie Pulimurugan continuing with its hurricane like box office performance here with tremendous response from all over. Great mouth publicity is flowing all over and everyone has only one thing to talk about in Kerala and it is Pulimurugan.

The film had created as many 6-7 seven box office records here in Kerala beating the previous record holders by big margin in just 3 day time.

From the first 3 days, the film had earned 12.91 crore from Kerala alone, which is a new record here. As per the reports from trade analysts, the film had grossed around 1.5 crore from its rest of India market from 3 days and total All India collection of the movie from 3 days is 14.41 crore.

The film had got great response from Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai etc and on Sunday, almost 40 shows were played at Bangalore City alone or this movie.

Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan released on Friday and receiving tremendous response from everywhere. The concept of man vs wild has been used very rarely in Malayalam film industry. Pulimurugan used the latest VFX technologies available to make a wonderful action adventure movie. But before 27 years, without any techniques and visual effects IV Sasi directed the cult classic Mrugaya.

Mrugaya starring Mammootty was written by one of the all time greats, Lohithadas. Mrugaya tells the story of Varunni, the uncultured and drunkard hunter who arrived in a village to kill a man-eating leopard. The story was inspired from a real life hunter.

Director IV Sasi in a recent interview has shared about his experiences while shooting the movie. A trained leopard was hires from Chennai with a trainer. Mammootty used dupes only for 2 long range shots in the movie. Since there was no safety measures or other facilities available like today, it was quite a tedious task to complete the shoot.

The trainer used to show how to fight with the tiger before each shot and Mammootty had to follow that. The director remembers how Mammootty, after the initial fear, did an amazing job without any preparations.

The shoot was completed within 30 days. Mrugaya was a success at the box-office and won two Kerala State Film Awards. Mammootty won the best actor award and IV Sasi won the awards for best director.

Everyone believes that Pulimurugan will create a new history in Mollywood and now popular writer/director B Unnikrishnan, says that Pulimurugan may well become the first 100 crore earning movie in Malayalam Cinema.

He salutes the effort taken by Vysakh, Udaya Krishna, cameraman Shaji, Peter Hein and above all Mohanlal for making such a massive film which is the best ever action-adventure movie in Mollywood. He also praised Joseph Nellikkal, the art director of the film.

B Unnikrishnan said that Peter Hein had done a superb work in it and when he called him to congratulate him after watching the movie, Peter Hein said that all credit goes to Mohanlal and he was just incredible.

B Unnikrishnan said that there is no other star in Mollywood who is better than Mohanlal in crowd pulling here in Kerala and there may be no other star in India as well who can pull off such great action scenes on his own in this age.

B Unnikrishnan said that the box office success of Puli Murugan had really an inspiration and it had expanded the market of Malayalam films to a higher level.

Unni R has previously worked with Dulquer Salmaan in the sensational hit Charlie (2015). Charlie won numerous awards in the Kerala State Awards. Dulquer Salmaan won the best actor and Unni R won the award for best screenplay for their works in Charlie.

Manamantha was a trilingual made in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The movie was about many stories happening in a day. Mollywood superstar Mohanlal played the main lead in the movie. Gautami, Urvashi, and Viswant Duddumpudi played other important roles in the movie.

Thoppil Joppan saw Johnny Antony and Mammootty joining hands together for the fourth time. All their previous movies were fun filled entertainers and Thoppil Joppan is no different.

MOhanlal’s big budget movie Pulimurugan and Thoppil Joppan were released during the weekend to cash in on the Pooja holidays. While Thoppil Joppan is a light hearted entertainer aimed at the families, Pulimurugan is an action packed mass entertainer.

Mammootty’s previous release this year Kasaba was criticized for double meaning jokes and vulgarity. Kasaba was not enjoyable for the family audience. Even after a record opening in the box office, the movie ended up as a mediocre one. His next release White was a love story but ended up as a box office disaster.
