Clash with Pulimurugan

Thoppil Joppan is releasing alongside another biggie, Pulimurugan. October 7th will see the clash of the titans of Mollywood. Apparently this release date clash has helped a great deal in promoting both the movie. While Mohanlal’s Pulimurgan is an action adventure movie, Thoppil Joppan is a simple humour based movie.

Thoppil Joppan is written by Nishad Koya who has earlier written movies like Ordinary and Madhunaranga. The film is bankrolled by Noushad Alathoor under his banner Grande Film Corporation.

Kerala Box Office : Oppam Collection Report 26 Days

Oppam, the Mohanlal-Priyadarshan movie has been moving on to complete 1 month in screens here and it had already become one of the biggest successes ever in Mollywood cinema history. The flick has been breaking records at will and it had becomes the fastest Malayalam movie to gross 30 crore from Kerala alone.

Earlier it had set the records like Fastest 10 crore, 20 crore earning movie and also become the highest first week grosser in Malayalam cinema. It had become the fastest Malayalam movie to gross over 1 crore from Trivandrum City within a few days of its release and also become the first ever Malayalam movie to gross over 50 lakhs from Trivandrum Ariesplex.

The latest official collection report of the film says that it had grossed close to 32.9 crore from 26 days of its run here in Kerala. The share earned by the movie is above 14.35 crore and it had already earned a profit around 8 crore from just 26 days and that too from Kerala alone.

The film still has around 370 shows per day and will complete 11 thousand shows here in Kerala in a day or two. As per reports, the film is doing great in overseas market as well and early estimates says that Oppam had grossed around 38 crores till now, when we add the overseas and Rest of India collection as well to its Kerala figure.

People have been waiting for a long time to see Pranav Mohanlal on the screen. Pranav Mohanlal has won the Kerala State Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in the movie Punarjani. He also did a cameo appearance in Sagar Alias Jacky.

Jeethu Joseph has earlier teamed up with Mohanlal to deliver the all time blockbuster Drishyam. The director has always had a stronghold in the thriller genre. Memories, his thriller with Prithviraj is one of the best thrillers ever made in Mollywood.

In a recent interview Jeethu Joseph has said that his new movie with Pranav Mohanlal will be another thriller with lot of action sequences on the lines of Memories. The audience are thrilled with this announcement. Everyone including the industry people are eagerly waiting for more information about the movie.

He had come from a family which had no connection to Cinema field. His great desire is to become an actor and he started off his career by playing a character in the serial named Chakravakam, which was telecasted by Surya TV. He had written short films in that period. Later he wrote a movie and found a producer to bankroll the project. But many issues that came after that made him the director of that movie as well and Adam is the result of that challenge thrown before him.

He never ever worked with a Director before as an assistant. He learned all by himself by doing his first film under so much pressure and problems. But he is a winner, as he had completed his endeavour as a director successfully. Still Zamar says that his ultimate aim to become an actor.

Oppam stands between Pulimurugan for a wide release

Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan is gearing up for release on October 7th. The movie is all set to have a grand release. Opening day records are expected to be rewritten with release of Pulimurugan.

Reportedly Pulimurugan will be releasing in around 325 theatres. In Kerala the movie will be releasing in 160 theatres. Earlier the movie was planned to have the biggest opening ever in Kerala with a release in over 200 theatres.

But, Mohanlal’s Onam release Oppam is still running successfully in all the theatres. Apparently, the actor did not want to affect the collections of Oppam with a wide release for Pulimurugan. Oppam has has completed 10,000 shows from 28 days.

Recently Oppam became the fastest movie to enter the 30 crore club in Malayalam cinema. Oppam is also doing great business overseas and is expected to continue the good run in the coming weeks.

If Pulimurugan is releasing massively in a large number of theatres then Oppam’s dream run will be cut short. Oppam is all set to enter the prestigious 50 crore club in Mollywood.

Pulimurugan will be releasing in 165 theatres outside Kerala. Earlier, the censor board has given a clean U certificate for the movie. The run time of the movie is 2hrs and 37 minutes. The makers have also made it clear that they will release the movie in more theatres after the inital audience response.

Pulimurugan is directed by Vyshakh and written by Udyakrishna. The film is bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupadam under his banner Mulakupadam films.

Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan is all set to release on October 7th. The movie is set for a grand release and is expected to have a big opening in the box office.

Now reports are coming in that Pulimurugan will be releasing in around 325 theatres. In Kerala the movie will be releasing in 160 theatres. Outside Kerala the movie will be releasing in 165 theatres. The producer said that apart from this, they are planning to release the Telugu version in 300 theatres.

The movie went to censors today and was given a clean U certificate by the board. The runtime of the movie is 2hrs and 37 minutes. Pulimurugan will have its first show at 8’o clock in all theatres, except the multiplexes.

Earlier the makers were planning to release the movie in around 200 theatres across the state. But, Mohanlal’s Onam release Oppam is still running successfully in all the theatres. Oppam is now officially the fastest movie to enter the 30 crore club in Malayalam Cinema.

Pulimurugan is written by Udhayakrishna and directed by Vyshakh. Tomichan Mulakupadam is producing this movie under his banner Mulakupadam films.

The movie also stars Telugu actor Jagapthi Babu, Lal, Bala, Kishore, Siddique,  Suraj Venjaramoodu and Namitha in other supporting roles
