Roopesh Peethambaran is now trim and slim for Oru Mexican Aparatha

Roopesh Peethambaran who has earlier played the younger part of Aadu Thoma in the cult movie Spadikam is back to face the camera after a gap of 21 years. Roopesh Peethambaran is acting alongside Tovino Thomas in the campus movie Oru Mexican Aparatha. Oru Mexican Aparatha is based on events happening in Maharajas College in the 80s.

Recently the actor has put in great efforts for playing the part by shedding few kilos. In his facebook post, Roopesh Peethambaran has said that he has lost around 20 kgs for the movie. He has also thanked co-star Tovino Thomas and Unni Mukundan for encouraging him to get in shape. Looks like the actor is all excited to play the role.

In Oru Mexican Aparatha, Roopesh Peethambaran is said to be playing a negative character opposite Tovino Thomas. From the promos, it is believed that Tovino Thomas will be playing a SFI activist and Roopesh is playing the role of a KSU student leader.

Roopesh Peethambaran has also directed two movies to his credit. His first movie was Theevram, a crime thriller starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Theevram received a lot of critical acclaim for the attempt. His next movie was a multi starrer with Asif Ali, Sreenivasan, Tovino Thomas, Anu Mohan, Honey Rose and Rachana Narayanankutty playing the lead roles.

Oru Mexican Aparatha is directed by Tom Emmatty and co written by Jude Anthany Joseph. The team had earlier released a promo song “Katta Kalippu” sung by Neruppu da fame Arun Raja Kamaraja. The song was well received for its making and has created a buzz among the audience.

Let’s hope that all the dedication and hard work put in by Roopesh and the team does not go in vain. The audience are eagerly waiting for the release. Here’s wishing all success to the team of Oru Mexican Aparatha.

He is making his debut as a male lead through the movie which will be directed by Jeethu Joseph and it will be bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Mohanlal himself announced the project through his Facebook page last day and everybody is now celebrating the news. But a section season of people says that Jeethu Joseph had chosen Pranav Mohanlal only because he is the son of Super Star Mohanlal.

But Jeethu Joseph refuted all those claims as he said that he had chosen Pranav Mohanlal not because he is the son of legendary actor Mohanlal. But, he chose him because he felt that Pranav Mohanlal will be the perfect choice to play the character in the subject which he had in his mind.

Jeethu Joseph said to Media that when he think about the character Pranav Mohanlal’s face came to his mind and he discussed it with Pranav Mohanlal. Pranav Mohanlal also loved the plot and he agreed to do the lead in it.

Pranav Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph shares a great bonding as Pranav Mohanlal had assisted Jeethu Joseph in two films named Life of Josootty and Papanasham. Jeethu Joseph said that it will be an emotional thriller, which will give ample scope for Pranav Mohanlal to perform as an actor.

Adam is a Malayalam movie which released last day here in Kerala after making a lot of controversies regarding its subject. This film directed and written by Zamar is bankrolled by Sneha CJ. The movie had graced almost 18 screens here in Kerala and right from the word go, another issue had started against the movie.

The movie is said to be based on the theme of Antichrist concept and it had created lots of issues when its trailer had released earlier. Christian religious communities alleged that the film had lots of scenes in it which hurts their religious beliefs.

Now, protest being going on against the movie in theaters in which this film is showing. Christian religious group are asking the concerned authorities to ban this film and they are all set to resort to even violence if the theaters are going with the screening process of the movie.

Even a case has been filed against the movie saying that it is spreading negativity about the religious beliefs of Christian community. Censor Board of Film Certification had ordered 36 cuts from the movie and given Adults only certificate for it because of the content in the movie.

The team behind the film had come against this decision at that time. Anyway, these kind of controversies is now really helping the movie to get the attention of the audience.

Oppam had achieved yet another feat in Mollywood box office and another record kept by Premam had bowed down before this Mohanlal starrer directed by Priyadarshan.

After becoming the fastest Mollywood movie to cross 10 crore, 15 crore, 20 crore and 25 crore marks, Oppam had become the fastest Malayalam movie to cross the 30 crore mark from Kerala alone as well.

As per the official reports that we got, the film had earned more than 30 crore from its 23 days run here in Kerala. In its 22 days, it had earned a figure of 29.60 crore with a share above 12.95 crore.

It is damn sure that the flick had earned around 30.4 crore after completing its run on 23rd day. The average gross of the film per day in last week was around 84 lakhs.

This film is slowly moving towards the industry hit status of Mollywood even though it needs 12 crore more to become the industry hit in Kerala.

Mohanlal movie Drishyam which grossed 42 crore+ from Kerala alone is the current industry hit in Mollywood. Oppam is making waves in its rest of India market and overseas market. From areas like UK and Ireland it had grossed 40 lakhs from just 3 days and continues to do great.

In USA also the flick have had a fantastic opening and the figures will be updated soon. From rest of India market, it had grossed above 2.5 crore from just 17 day time.

Prithviraj starrer movie named Oozham which released in this Onam season is having an average box office run now here in Kerala. This Jeethu Joseph directorial revenge drama had got negative to average reviews from the audience and critics alike. In theaters too, it done only an average business considering the number of holidays we had in the last three weeks.

The film had been made using a budget of 10 crore+ and it is a big budget movie for sure. As per the latest reports that is coming in from trade guides in our industry, the flick had earned around 14.2 crore from its 20 days of run here in Kerala. The net figure is around 11.40 crore and the share earned by the flick is around 6.5 crore.

To earn a profit from theater share alone seems impossible for Oozham now, as big releases will come and take way the screens from Oozham in the coming week. In rest of India Market and overseas as well the flick had done only an average business.

There was great hype for the movie before its release and the expectation on Jeethu Joseph-Prithviraj movie was great. Actors like Neeraj Madhav, Balachandra Menon, Pashupathy, Jayaprakash etc had also played important characters in this movie and the female lead was played by Divya Pillai.

After 36 cuts, Adam Malayalam movie finally hits screens

Controversial movie Adam after all the roadblocks has finally released. The movie has released in around 18 theatres in Kerala. Adam is a movie based on the concept of Antichrist. The movie was earlier in the news for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Christian community.

There is an ongoing case in the court filed by Vargheese accusing the makers of the movie for spreading negative message and hatred about the Christian community.

Adam is the first movie in Mollywood wholely based on the concept of Anti Christ. Earlier movies like Jayaraj’s Rain Rain Come Again had some characters who are following the Anti Christ beliefs. Adam’s cast and crew are majorly newcomers and director Zamar feels that some people purposefully trying to tarnish the image of the movie for their publicity.

Adam also made the headlines after the censor board’s strict recommendations to cut about 36 scenes from the movie. The movie was finally given an A certificate because the officials felt that the movie will have negative impact on the audience.

Director Zamar has accused the censor board officials for their hypocrisy and their indifferent attitude towards newcomers. Adam now has the dubious distinction of having the most cuts for a Malayalam Cinema.

Now that the movie has released after all the fuss and issues, lets wait and watch for the audience response. Because ultimately it is the cine goers who have a final word on a movie’s verdict.

This is the biggest budget Malayalam movie in the career of Super Star Mohanlal and it had took more than 250 days to complete the work, including the filming and post-production.

Now, the countdown had started and everyone is highly excited to watch it on big screen. It is almost sure that Pulimurugan will create a record related to its first day collections here in Kerala as it had already got around 180 screens here alone. Apart from that, the film is all set to make history in number of fans shows.

Reports coming in that, at more than 100 screens here in Kerala, fans shows are planned and at many centers, the tickets for fans shows had already sold out. Almost all those fans shows were in big capacity theaters as well and due to heavy demand for tickets, some screens were added for special shows alone.
