The first teaser of Megastar Mammootty’s Thoppil Joppan had come 5 days before and made some new records in Mollywood related to the YouTube views. At first it had become the fastest Malayalam movie teaser to cross 1 Million (Ten Lakh) views in YouTube.

It had got 1 Million views in 81 hours. It had broken the record set earlier by Mammootty movie Kasaba’s teaser, which took 99 hours to complete 1 Million views.

Now, it is moving towards surpassing the teaser views of Super Star Mohanlal’s big budget movie Pulimurugan and become the second most viewed teaser in Malayalam Cinema. Pulimurugan teaser had amassed 14 lakh+ views in 4 month time and Thoppil Joppan teaser already had 13+ Lakh views in 5 day time.

If it go like this, then it will break the record of Kasaba teaser again which is the most viewed Malayalam movie teaser. The second teaser of Thoppil Joppan will release on this Friday as well.

Master director Priyadarshan had made a fabulous comeback through his latest Malayalam movie named Oppam with Mohanlal in the lead, which had become the biggest hit of this year in Mollywood and moving towards the biggest hit ever in Malayalam film industry. Now another happy news is coming for the master director, as his Tamil movie named Sila Samayangalil has been officially selected for the prestigious Golden Globe awards this year.

The flick has been written by Priyadarshan himself and it has been produced by Amala Paul and Prabhu Deva under the banners of Think Big Studios and Prabhu Deva Studios. Mohanlal, his great friend and colleague had appreciated Priyadarshan for his achievement through his official Facebook page, by posting the news and poster of the movie.

Artists like Prakash Raj, Shreya Reddy, Ashok Selvan, Nassar etc played important characters in this movie and the DOP of this movie was popular Mollywood Cinematographer and director Sameer Thahir. Music Maestro Ilaya Raja had tuned the music for this film and Beena Paul is the one who edited this Tamil social drama.

Years before, Priyadarshan had won his first national award for best director through a Tamil Movie named Kancheevaram. Prakash Raj played the lead in it as well and he also got the national award for best actor for his performance in that movie. Priyadrashan had earlier planned this movie named Sila Samayangalil in Hindi, with Bollywood star Aamir Khan in the lead.

Another multi-Star movie to grace Mollywood soon and this time it will be from Kannan Thamarakkulam who had given us the box office success named Aadupuliyattam this year with popular star Jayaram in the lead. Kannan Thamarakkulam had made his debut with a Jayaram movie named Thinkal Muthal Velli vare last year, is all set to start his 3rd consecutive movie with Jayaram and it is titled as Achayans.

Apart from Jayaram, Young Mollywood Star Unni Mukundan and Kollywood actor Prakash Raj also playing important characters in this movie. Unni Mukundan and Jayaram sharing screen space in Telugu movie Bhagmati as well, which is directed by G Ashok.

This film Achayans will be a fun filled thriller and it will start rolling from the third week of October this year. Popular script writer Sethu is writing this movie which will tell the story of the members of a Christian family. Director Kannan Thamarakkulam says that each of these three characters played by Jayaram, Unni Mukundan and Prakash Raj will have equal importance in the plot.

The team behind the movie is trying to rope in more and more popular actors to the movie to play important characters in it. Fort Kochi, Wagamon, Theni, Hyderabad etc are the major locations in which the film will be shot.

Oppam, the Mohanlal starrer continues to break records here in Mollywood. Oppam had already broken two records set by Nivin Pauly starrer blockbuster named Premam. At first it become the fastest 10 crore grossing movie in Malayalam, overtaking Premam and then become the fastest 20 crore grossing movie in Malayalam, again surpassing Premam record.

Now, Oppam had broken the record of Nivin Pauly’s movie Jacobinte Swargarajyam by becoming the biggest hit of this year by surpassing the lifetime Kerala gross of Jacobinte Swargarajyam in just 13 days run here in Kerala.

Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial Nivin Pauly starrer Jacobinte Swargarajyam had released in this year April as a Vishu release in Mollywood. The film had got great reviews and become the biggest hit of this year by grossing 22cr+ from Kerala alone in its lifetime run here. Mohanlal-Priyadrashan movie Oppam had grossed above 22 crore from just 13 days from Kerala and become the biggest hit this year in Mollywood, till now.

Oppam is getting great occupancy status in working days as well and it is expected to gross more than 30 crore before the next big releases like Pulimurugan and Thoppil Joppan comes here. The rest of India figure of the movie is not yet available and the film will start releasing in overseas market from September 23rd. It will have a record release in overseas market as well.

Now, Murali Gopi said that this upcoming Lucifer from Mohanlal-Prithviraj team have nothing to do with the earlier project.

It only bears the same name and the basic theme is also the same. But they changed the story completely and will have a fresh screenplay as well. So, rumors are coming in based on the reports that came related to Rajesh Pillai’s Lucifer years back.

Anyway, we have to wait to know more about the cast and crew of the movie. Kunchacko Boban had shared screen space with Mohanlal in Harikrishnans and Kilukkam Kilukilukkam years back.

Mohanlal played a blind character named Jayaraman in Oppam and it was directed by master director Priyadarshan. Amitabh Bachchan had played an advocate named Deepak Segal in Pink, which was directed by Anirudh Roy Chaudhary. Oppam is moving towards the all-time blockbuster status in Mollywood and Pink also getting commercial success along with critical appreciation.
