A marriage ceremony is all set to take place at the home of Chiyan Vikram very soon. Vikram’s daughter Akshita Vikram is getting married to Manu Renjith who is the son of a popular bakery owner in Chennai. The engagement function will take place on July 10th and it will be a private function which will be conducted at a Five Star Hotel at Chennai.

Only close family relatives from both families will attend the engagement and as per reports nobody from Kollywood got invited as of now. The marriage will be conducted next year and it will be a grand function inviting all from Kollywood and other film industries.

Akshitha and Manu Renjith getting engaged after long years of love affair and both families had no hesitation to approve the relationship between the two when they came to know about this. Vikram had a son as well and Vikram’s wife is from Kannur, Kerala.

Vikram is now finishing up his work in the film named Iru Mugan in which Nayan Thara is playing his female lead. The film is touted as an August release and will be an action thriller from Chiyan Vikram. His last film 10 Ennarudhukkullai did not made a big impact at box office and this film Irumugan will be a crucial one for him.

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay, undoubtedly the biggest star in Kollywood after Super Star Rajinikanth is once again proving that he is the next super star there. In fan base all over South India and even at overseas market Vijay is second to none in Kollywood now and the craze for him there is unbelievable as well.

Now, he had created an all-time record there in Kollywood with his last 3 movies. The total business which his last 3 movies together done is more than 400 crores and it is a new record at Kollywood box office. No star there ever done that much business there with 3 film that released in 3 consecutive years. Even Rajinikanth had not done it yet there.

Vijay’s 2014 release was Kaththi directed by AR Murugados. That film had crossed 100 crore mark in box office and the final figure of that film is above 140 crore. His 2015 film was Puli directed by Chimbu Devan. It was a commercial failure and still it had done a total business around 100 crore (not collection) rupees. The budget of that film was 120 crore and even though it had done a total business around 100 crore, it ended up as a disaster.

His 2016 release was Theri directed by Atlee. The film had already done a total business around 200 crore from worldwide run as well. Thus his last 3 films had made more than 400 crores and it is enough to say that he is the next Super Star of Kollywood.

AMMA general body meeting 2016 has been conducted at Kochi

The annual general body meeting of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists, of the year 2016 has been conducted at Kochi Yesterday. The new governing body of AMMA has took charge last day which had begun at 10.30 AM yesterday morning. Innocent MP had once again chosen as the President of AMMA. Mohanlal had taken charge as the vice president and Mammootty had become the general secretary.

Mohanlal was the General Secretary for the last few years and due to his upcoming busy schedule he opted to stay from that position which needs more time and a bigger responsibility. MLA KB Ganesh Kumar also there as Vice President of the association. Idavela Babu had become the secretary as well.

The main discussion points in yesterday’s meeting was said to be the issue that happened related to the election campaign of Mohanlal for Ganesh Kumar and the protest by Salim Kumar and Jagadeesh against it. Jagadeesh and Salim Kumar was absent from the function as well. Salim Kumar had informed that he will not be taking part in the meeting because of health problems. But Jagadeesh had not informed about his absence from the meeting. The meeting also discussed about the ways to increase the income of the association in order to help the members who needs financial help.

Two MLA’s who won the elections this year had took part in this year’s meeting and it was Mukesh and KB Ganesh Kumar.

Megastar Mammootty’s one of the most expected movies of the season, Kasaba is gearing up for release. The movie is touted to be released on 7th of July. Kasaba’s official teaser was released last Saturday and soon word of mouth spread like wild fire. The 29 second teaser views has reached above 5 lakhs in a matter of just 2 days. Reportedly, Kasaba teaser has completed 4 Lakhs YouTube views within the first 20 hours of release.

As per the latest updates, the teaser has broken the record created by Mohanlal starrer Puli Murugan’s teaser within the first 24 hours of release. Puli Murugan teaser has fetched 4.3 lakhs views within the first 24 hours.

Kasaba also stars popular actors Siddique, Jagadish, Sampath, Neha Saxena, etc. in supporting roles.

Kasaba was a victim of social media trolling right from the first look release. This turned into a blessing in disguise as the movie soon gained popularity, with the Megastar himself addressing the issue in a sarcastic manner. Mammootty had shared some of the memes created with the first look poster and termed trolls and memes as the modern face of satire.

Mammootty fans are eagerly waiting to see their matinee idol donning back the khaki uniform after 5 long years. The big question that raised from yesterday was whether Mammootty’s Kasaba teaser will be able to surpass the all-time record created by Mohanlal’s Puli Murugan teaser. Even though Kasaba teaser had surpassed Dulquer Salmaan’s Kammattipadam teaser record of 260K, it failed to surpass the 24 hour views record set by Puli Murugan teaser.

Puli Murugan teaser was released on May 21st, on the birthday of Mohanlal. It had got 427 K + views in YouTube when it completed 24 hours. Kasaba teaser had only reached 385K views in the first 24 hours after its release. The teaser had released on 7 PM on 25th of June and when it became 7 PM on 26th June, the view count of the teaser was at 385K in YouTube.

There were reports that the estimated view graph (which can only be seen by the ones who manages the YouTube channel through the teaser had released) says that the estimated views of Kasaba teaser after 24 hours is around 5 lakh. But in that scenario too Puli Murugan is way ahead with close to 5 lakh estimated views after 24 hours of its release.

But common people can only see the real time views in YouTube channels, when one login to YouTube to watch a video. Puli Murugan teaser also holds the records like fastest 200K views in Mollywood and also the first Mollywood Film teaser to reach 1 Million views in YouTube.

Nithin Renji Panicker’s debut directorial venture Kasaba is on its way to the screens here in Kerala. The film starring Mammootty in the lead role is expected to hit the screens all over on this coming July 7 and the first teaser of the film had released last day at 7 PM in the evening. The teaser was a heavy mass one and got great response from fans of Mammootty and they are celebrating the success of the teaser.

The teaser had already surpassed the record of Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kammattipadam teaser which got 260K YouTube views in 24 hours after the release of its teaser. Now the big question in everybody’s mind is that will Kasaba surpass Mohanlal’s Puli Murugan teaser record or not..?
