You already know about the upcoming epic film of RS Vimal-Prithviraj team, titled Karnan. The film is all set to start by this year end as per reports and the pre-production works are in full swing as well. RS Vimal had completed the screenplay and they had made a digital story board for this film. The flick will be made on a budget around 100 crores and many technicians from all around the country and from outside as well will work in this epic film based on Mahabharatha. As per the latest reports that coming in, Karnan will speak 5 languages and it will be released in 4000 screens worldwide.

The team behind the film says that the challenge before them is to surpass the epic films from Indian Cinema like Bahubali in its quality and also to stand head to head with Hollywood films which is made in this genre. The film will have artists from all around India and it will speak Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English.

They are planning to release it in 4000 screens worldwide. The cameraman of this film will be Senthil Kumar who shot to fame through Bahubali and he had cranked camera for many other big films too. Gopi Sundar is tuning the music for this film.

The team behind the film says that they are preparing for a battle and they had the confidence in them to achieve their goal. They want Mollywood history to be divided as ‘before Karnan’ and ‘after Karnan’ and will do their best to make it possible. Venu Kunnappilly, an NRI is the producer of this movie and he is all set to make this film possible at whatever cost as well. RS Vimal and Prithviraj had delivered one of the biggest hits in Malayalam last year with Ennu Ninte Moideen. So, the expectations about this film Karnan is sky high and the team behind the film have to do it perfectly to satisfy the audience.

Malayalam Movie named Lens has made its place in the news headlines here in Mollywood when master director Lal Jose said that it is one of the best films he saw recently and he loved it so much that he took up the responsibility of distributing the film here in Kerala. Lal Jose had said that he don’t want such a socially relevant and well-made film to be get ignored here, without getting enough screens.

Apart from Lal Jose, Vineeth Sreenivasan also came out and appreciated the film after watching it in a special screening arranged for him by the director of this film. Vineeth Sreenivasan said that it is a must watch movie for the internet addict young generation here in Kerala. Now, this Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan directorial film had got praise from Kollywood as well. Popular Kollywood film maker Vertrimaran also came forward by praising this movie.

Vetrimaran said that Lens is a well written movie which has great relevance in our modern day society. Pathemari issue: Director Salim Ahamed apologized

Director Salim Ahamed who written and directed the film Pathemari had apologized to the family members of Lanchi Velayudhan. In his film named Pathemari which released last year, Salim Ahamed had told the story of the Malayalees who left to gulf countries in 1960’s from Kerala. He had took many real life characters after conducting a research on this subject and one such character is Lanchi Velayudhan played by actor Siddique.

Lanchi Velayudhan is the one who helped many people from Kerala to cross the ocean in a Pathemari and reach the gulf countries to earn a better living. He has a great place in the history as well. But in the film, Salim Ahamed showed Lanchi Velayudhan as a mentally disturbed person towards the end of the story. But, it was not the fact and Lanchi Velayudhan had no such problems till his death. So his family members had filed a case against Salim Ahammad for portraying Velayudhan wrongly. Salim Ahamed had realized his mistake and apologized to the family members of Lanchi Velayudhan in a press conference.

He said that the family members of Lanchi Velayudhan did not ask him any compensation for the wrong portrayal. They said that they felt great pain after watching the wrong portrayal of the character. Salim Ahamed said that he had to portray that character in such a way to make it more cinematic. But it is unacceptable for Velayudhan’s family and he is really apologetic about what he did.

Velayudhan had died 8 years back. After Salim Ahammad’s apology, the case filed against him had withdrawn by the family of Velayudhan.

Onlookers Media had reported last week about Lekha Nambbothiri who is suffering from a disease to her spinal cord and her desire to meet actor Mammootty once. She had become famous in Kerala earlier because of an organ donation as she had donated one of her Kidney freely to a young man named Shafi, which saved his life. She done that after got inspired from a character played by Mammootty, in a film named Loudspeaker, in which Mammootty’s character donates his Kidney to other person.

Onlookers Media reported Lekha Namboothiri’s current health condition and the financial problems she was going through along with her desire to meet Mammootty. Mammootty had come to know about this report and he had contacted her through his media manager and offered his help in her treatment. Mammootty had kept his word and the surgery of Lekha Namboothiri had completed successfully last day with the financial help provided by Mammootty and lots of other kind hearted people who came to know about Lekha Namboothiri through Onlookers Media report.

The surgery was took place at MIMS Hospital, Calicut. The surgery took one and half hour to complete and she is now in the intensive care unit. Dr. Suresh S, famous expert in spinal cord treatment had lead the surgery there. Before Surgery, Pathanjali herbal Extracts Private Limited Managing Director Dr. K Jyothish Kumar had given Rupees 1 Lakh to Lekha as per the instruction from Mammootty, who is the director of Pathanjali Herbal Extracts. Mammootty also contacted her through phone and told her that he will come to meet her after she recover her health.

Many people had contributed financially through the bank account details we provided in our earlier report. Apart from that people like Shafi Parambil MLA also took the initiative to raise money for her through Smart Palakkad bank account. Anyway, we Onlookers Media wishing a speedy recovery to Lekha M Namboothiri and we feels proud that it is through our report that many people came to know about her plight, including Mammootty which later led to this surgery.

The Udta Punjab issue is getting hotter and hotter as each day passes and the censor board of film certification in India is feeling the heat now. They had banned the film and suggested that if the team behind the film want to get it certified, then they have to cut down 89 parts from the film as suggested by the Censor Board. They suggested for the change in title of this film as well.

This film starred by Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor was produced by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Indian film industry had come out supporting the movie and many prominent figures here had already raised the voice against the censor board. The latest in that list is the Bahubali director SS Rajamouli.

SS Rajamouli said that a few people does not have the right to decide what this country want to see on screen. No censor board can decide on that.

Meanwhile Bomaby High Court also said that Censor board is there only to certify the film not to censor it or ban it.

We had already reported that Kollywood Star Suriya to do 250 crore budget film next, after he completes the ongoing filming of Singam 3. Thenandal films to produce this movie which is scripted by Sundar C and he will direct it as well. Sundar C is famous for his Aramanai series and is capable of creating grand visual spectacles on screen.

This film will be the 100th production venture of Thenandal films, which had started film production in 1976. As per the latest report that coming in, this upcoming film be one which can challenge epic film like Bahubali as they are planning something really big.

As per reports, they had roped in Tirru as cameraman of this movie and talks are going on with Sabu Cyril as they want him to be the production designer. Sabu Cyril is the one who designed the film Bahubali for SS Rajamouli. Kamala Kannan, who had done VFX work for Bahubali will be roped in to work in this film as well. Producer Murali Ramanarayanan said that they had not yet decided on the music director.

It will be a Trilingual movie which will be shot in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. It is a period film based on some mythological subject and the makers are trying to rope in Telugu Super Star Mahesh Babu as well along with Suriya.

The censor board had banned the film here and they had suggested 89 cuts in the film including a change in its title. Indian film fraternity had come all out against censor board in this issue and they said that it is not at all a right call from the side of censor board.

Popular cinematographer and Mollywood director Rajeev Ravi had said that Censor board is denying the freedom of expression and speech by their act and they are actually working against the democracy of our nation. Now, popular Mollywood director Aashiq Abu also come out criticizing the Censor Board through a troll posted on his Facebook page against the foolish logic of our censor board.

Aashiq Abu calls it the sexy censorship logic. He said through that troll that while our censor board had cleared films like Mastizaade and Kya Cool Hai Hum 3 with an Adults Only Certificate, they had banned a film like Udta Punjab. Mastizaade and Kya Cool Hai Hum 3 were films showed vulgar scenes and dialogues. But on the other hand, Udta Punjab is a realistic film which is based on the drug mafia of Punjab.

Censor board had cleared vulgar films and then they had banned films which shows the reality in our society. It is really an act defying the logic indeed.
