Mammootty is playing a cop again and the film named Kasaba is on its way to the screens here in Kerala. As per the latest update, the film will grace the screens here on July 7th. Nithin Renji Panicker had written the screenplay of this film and he is making his directorial debut as well through this mass masala entertainer.
Nithin Renji Panicker says that Kasaba will not have any resemblance with the police stories created by his father Renji Panicker earlier. He says that no one have to come to the screens expecting a Renji Panicker kind of film from Nithin Renji Panicker. He had created a unique police character for Mammootty.
Nithin Renji Panicker says that the character played by Mammootty, named CI Rajan Zakariah is a fun loving police officer. He is not a police officer who follows the rules with utmost discipline. Rajan Zakariah is working at Palakkad district in Kerala. Once he have to go to a place which is at Kerala- Karnataka boarder as a part of an investigation related to some incidents that happened in the life of his senior in the department. From there the story will start to move briskly as he faces some serious situations there.
Nithin Renji Panicker says that the different mannerisms of Rajan Zakariah will be a new experience for the viewers and it will be one of the best ever police characters played by Mammootty. The film is getting ready for the biggest release of Mammootty’s career till now as well.

Now the hot topic in Indian cinema is the ban on Udta Punjab movie by Censor Board of India. The censor board had ordered almost 89 cutes in the film including changes in its dialogues and title of the film. Protest is raising in India against this attitude by censor board and now popular cinematographer and director Rajeev Ravi also came up and slammed the attitude of censor board. He said that, what censor board is doing is the clear denial of freedom of expression and freedom of artistic creation in India.
Rajeev Ravi directorial Malayalam film Kammattipaadam also faced this kind of attitude from censor board as many major dialogue portions from the film had to be removed as per the instructions from censor board and they also given an Adults Only certificate to the movie which had affected it big time. Rajeev Ravi is the one who directed the photography in Udta Punjab, which is produced by popular Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap.
Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt playing the lead in this movie which is said to be based on the drug mafia in Punjab. Rajeev Ravi says that what they telling is not at all an agreeable thing. Cutting away 89 parts from a movie is just like giving away the essence of that film. It is the clear cut denial of freedom of expression and speech.
He said our country is a democratic country and freedom of expression through cinema is a democratic right. Rajeev openly said that the censor board is clearly destroying the soul of democracy by these kind of attitude towards cinema in our country. Earlier this was not the situation and there was the freedom to make artistic creations and express through media.
He asks that how we can agree to an instruction from the board when they says that the name Punjab can’t be used in a film which is based on Punjab..? Those scenes which they want to be cut down from Udta Punjab is essential to tell the story as those scenes have to be there to portray the culture of a state.

Everyone is waiting for the release of Kabali starring Rajinikanth, in which he plays an aged Don named Kabaleeshwaran. The first look and teaser of the film already went viral and the expectations are damn high. The team behind the film was all set to launch the music of this film on June 11, but as per the latest report coming in, they dropped that plan to conduct a music launch event.
Even though they did not revealed the reason for the cancellation of that event. Sources says that it is because Super Star Rajinikanth had admitted in a hospital. But there is nothing to worry about. It is not because of any health problems he is suffering. But for the makeup test for his upcoming film named Enthiran 2 directed by Shankar.
He is admitted in private hospital at USA for the makeup test and he is working on his looks there for Enthiran 2. The entire team of Enthiran 2 including the director, producer and other cast and crew will go to USA to meet Rajinikanth. The Super Star is all set to try a complete different look for one of his characters in this upcoming film, which is the sequel of Enthiran which released few years back.
Because of the cancellation of audio launch event of Kabali, the music of the film will directly release in to the music market on the 12th of June.
Superstar Mohanlal is all set to make his mark in Telugu industry with two much awaited films. One is Manamantha directed by National award winning film maker Chandrashekhar Yeleti and the other is Janata Garage directed by Koratala Siva, one of the popular hit makers in Tollywood. Janata Garage will have Jr. NTR as well in it playing the lead along with Mohanlal. Both films will release in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages.
Manamantha is titled as Vismayam in Malayalam and Janata Garage will have the same title in all 3 languages. Mohanlal had learned Telugu for these flicks and as per the latest report, he will dub for the Tamil and Telugu versions of both these films.
Mohanlal had finished the filming of Manamantha months before. He will join the final schedule of Janata Garage on June 15 after completing the last schedule of his Priyadarshan movie named Oppam, which is filming at Ootty now. While he is in Hyderabad for the final schedule of Janata Garage, he will complete the dubbing of his part in the movie Manamantha, in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages.
Vismayam/Manmantha will release in July and Janata Garage slated for an August release. In Manamantha, Mohanlal plays an assistant manager in a Super Market. He is a down to earth, middle class man who hold strong principles in life. Gauthami is playing the female lead in it. In Janata Garage, he is playing the owner of a work Shop. He is a great car mechanic and also he repairs people, says the director. Mollywood actor Rahman playing his brother in this movie and Jr. NTR is playing his nephew. Mollywood actor Unni Mukundan also playing a key role in this movie.
Mohanlal’s next release in Mollywood is Pulimurugan, which will be dubbed in 7 languages as per reports which include Chinese and Vietnamese languages along with Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. Vysakh had directed this movie produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam. Mohanlal’s last release was Kanal which released in October last year. After that he got busy with multiple big budget projects.

Praveen KL is the editor of this film and he said that he is really overwhelmed to see the response which the teaser had got and will do his best to make the trailer better than the teaser. He said that the plot of the film revolves around a 55 year old man named Kabaleeshwaran and the story focuses more on the Tamilians who lives in Malaysia. The screenplay focused more on straight forward narration and in editing as well they not tried to use any gimmicks. They used plain cuts to make the film more realistic in its narration.
Praveen said that Rajinikanth’s charisma on screen is just fabulous and they had tried their best to elevate that effect to its maximum. He also added that when it comes to performance, this one will be one of the best ever from Rajinikanth and many scenes in this film will give you goosebumps while watching it for sure.
It was a big news when actress Jewel Mary had told in an interview that she had not played the female lead in Aadupuliyattam because the story of the film is not at all good. But, when the producers of this movie approached her with this project, she not even heard the story of this film and said that she does not want to play the female lead of Jayaram. She said that she prefers new generation heroes and told producers that if Fahad Fazil is the hero of their film, then she will do the flick.
Haseeb Haneef and Noushad Alathur, the producers of this flick, does not agree to that and they dropped the plan to rope in Jewel Mary who had made her debut in Mollywood through the film Uttopiayile Rajavu which was produced by the same Haseeb Haneef and Noushad Alathur. But, when the news spread about her refusal to act with Jayaram, she told to media that it is because of the bad story of the film that she did not took it.
But many people came protesting against her as it was not right to say such a negative comment about a film which was in its production stage at that time. Anyway, now the producers had took a sweet revenge against Jewel Mary, as they invited her as the Chief Guest, to the function in which they are celebrating the 50th day of Aadu Puliyattam.
The film had got decent opinion from all around and it had become a box office success as well. Jewel Mary earlier said that the film’s story is not at all good. But, now the audience had accepted the movie with both hands and producers of the film is also very happy about the success they got through the flick.
