Sradha had earlier acted in a Malayalam film and it was a film named Kohinoor directed by Vinay Govind and starred by Asif Ali. In this upcoming Tamil film, she will be playing a crime reporter.

Director Gautham Ramachandran had earlier assisted popular Kollywood film Makers like Rajeev Menon, Miskin etc and this film will be set against the background of sea and coastal area. Gautham had roped in Sradha after an audition conducted to find the female lead for this film.

White, the Uday Ananthan directorial Mammootty starrer has been the talking point in social media for all the wrong reasons for sometimes. The film was slated for a Vishu Release and Mammootty even shared the teaser and posters of the film in his official page announcing it as Vishu release. But the film has been postponed several times after that and social media began to troll the film and the people behind it.

The trolls were based on the rumor that White is not getting enough screens in Kerala and that is why the releasing getting delayed. Trolls also said that White is getting delayed because it is looking for a safe period without much competition at box office. But now director Uday Ananthan himself told to media that the film will release on July 29.

He said that there is no such problem for White regarding the availability of theaters here. He explained that the film got delayed because of the delay in completing the post-production works. He said that no other reasons affected the film’s release and the trolls were baseless. The film has Huma Qureshi, the Bollywood actress, playing the female lead. The plot revolves around the theme of a middle aged man’s romance with a young lady.

The screenplay was written by Uday Ananthan along with Nandini Wilson and Praveen Balakrishnan. Eros International had produced this film. This is the 3rd film of Uday Anathan as he had done films like Mrithyunjayam and Pranayakaalam before.

As per latest unconfirmed reports, this team coming again this year through a horror thriller titled Ezra.

The film will be directed by newcomer named Jayakrishnan and will start filming in coming July. Popular Kollywood actress Priya Anand is playing the female lead in this movie opposite Prithviraj.

Director Jayakrishnan had assisted Bollywood director like Raj Kumar Santhoshi and he even assisted Mollywood director Rajeev Ravi in his latest film Kammatipaadam. Jayakrishnan told to media that this film Ezra will be shot in Kochi, Mumbai, Srilanka and may be in Dubai as well. He does not revealed much about the story and characters in this movie. This one will be Priya Anand’s debut film in Mollywood.

Prithviraj’s last two releases were made much impact on box office as his films like Darwinte Parinamam and James and Alice went down. He began this year with a super hit named Pavada and after that it is not happy time for him. He is now completing his works in Jeethu Joseph directorial film named Oozham and it will come as an Onam release before the audience.

Rajeev Ravi’s third directorial venture Kammatipaadam had hit the screens all over on 20th May. From the first day itself the film impressed the audience and critics alike. Even though it had generated mixed reactions from the common audience, people who love Rajeev Ravi films rushed to the screens to watch it.

The presence of Dulquer Salmaan as male lead of the film also made a lot of youngsters to watch the film in its first weekend itself. Even though it did not made a gigantic opening like Dulquer’s earlier films Kali and Charlie, the first weekend total figure of the film is around 3.9 crore. We had reported the reasons for the comparatively small opening the film 2 days back. The latest reports that came in from trade guides says that the film had reached near 4.8 crore from 4 days.

On Monday, the film had a decent run here in Kerala and got around 90 lakhs. Thus the total figure reached above 4.8 crore. The share of the film is around 2.3 crore as of now. Kammatipadam is a big budget film and it have to keep a steady run at box office to make profit out of the theater run.

The critics had given the film thumps up and that had helped to attract more and more film lovers to the screens to watch this film. From Ernakulam Multiplexes, the film had grossed above 32 lakhs from 4 days. The lack of support from Family audience is the biggest problem Kammatipaadam is facing when we talk about the long run chances of the movie.

As per the latest reports that coming in, Action Hero Biju fame heroine Anu Emmanuel has been replaced by a new comer named Karthika in the upcoming Amal Neerad-Dulquer Salmaan untitled film. Anu Emmauel was earlier chosen to play the female lead in the movie and some scenes were shot with her as well.

But later she has been replaced by Karthika, who is the daughter of a cinematographer in Mollywood reportedly. The crew is all set to reshoot the scenes which they shot with Anu Emmanuel earlier. This film is written by Shibin Francis who earlier wrote the story of Pavada directed by Marthandan and starred by Prithviraj.

Siddique, Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothen etc also playing important roles in this movie.

The reason for removing Anu Emmanuel is still unknown and everybody is curious to know what really happened which made the crew to remove her from this film and replace her by a debutant actress.

Now, the report coming in that Kammatipaadam will soon speak Hindi and Telugu if the talks going on yield fruitful results. If everything goes well, the film will be remade to Hindi and Telugu language. Arjun Kapoor and Akhil Akkineni is considered to play the lead role in Hindi and Telugu respectively.

The hindi version will be directed by Rajeev Ravi himself as he had worked in several Hindi movies and had connections with many production studios there at Bollywood.

On his birthday on May 21, superstar Mohanlal had took part in a function at Durbar Hall Art Gallery at Kochi and in that function related to cartoons and spreading smiles all over, he had declared the city as Cartoon city. Mohanlal released balloons with smiley in to the air as a start of the event and said that cartoonists are purifying our governance and social systems through their cartoon sketches and words for long years. Many popular cartoonists in Kerala were present there along with Mohanlal in that function at Kochi.

Mohanlal said that cartoonists carried forward what people like Kunchan Nambiar had begun with Ottan Thullal and what Chakyar Koothu performers did as well. Mohanlal said that just like we say a picture can speak more than a thousand words, a cartoon can sometimes speak more than an entire newspaper as the impact of a good cartoon is huge.

Mohanlal also remembered that he read somewhere that Jawaharlal Nehru always wanted to be the cartoon character of one of the most famous cartoonist in India, R Shanakr. Mohanlal expressed his wish that the contemporary cartoonists too continue their works to transform the society for good with their sketches.

The National Cartoon-Caricature festival is going on in Kochi City right now. The carnival of laughter organized by Kerala Cartoon academy in association with Kochi Corporation, GCDA, Ernakulam Press Club, Ministry of Culture, DTPC etc aiming at turning this city in to a cartoon hub of Kerala. Cartoons based on political issues, issues based on climate change and many more were showcased at the event.

Jayaram starrer film Aadupuliyattam is running successfully all over Kerala and the film had got a decent word of mouth from all around as well. Last day, actor Jayaram had come to watch the film from theater said that a part of the profit earned by Aadupuliyattam film will be given to the family of Jisha, who got raped and murdered at Perumbavoor few weeks back.

Jayaram made this declaration at Aluva, where he came to celebrate the success of the film with the children of Janaseva Shishu Bhavan who came to watch the movie from a theater in Aluva.

Along with Jayaram, other artists like Sheelu Abraham, Ramesh Pisharody, Baby Akshara Kishore were also present there and they expressed their happiness as they were able to celebrate the success of this film with the children of Janaseva Shishu Bhavan. They distributed sweets to the children and Jayaram told media that the producers of this film had agreed to give a part of the profit of this film to Jisha’ family.

Aadu Puliyattam is a horror thriller directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam and written by Dinesh Pallathu. Popular artists like Ramya Krishnan, Sambathu, Om Puri, Saju Navodaya, Sreekumar etc also played key roles in this film along with Jayaram, Baby Akshara Kishore, Sheelu Abraham, Ramesh Pisharody etc.
