Prithviraj to produce Mammootty film My Daddy David

Mammootty and Prithvi Raj joining again after Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukkutty wriiten and directed by Renjith. Prithviraj had produced that movie under his banner of August Cinemas. Now, he is all set to produce another Mammootty starrer flick named My Daddy David, which will be directed by a debutant named Haneef. Other details about the film is not yet revealed to the media and it is expected to come soon.

Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukkutty in which Mammootty played the lead role was released in 2013. But it was a box office disaster. The film had cameos from Mohanlal, Dileep, Jayaram etc as well and Mammootty played himself in a little cameo appearance he had made apart from the main character of Mathukutty.

Later in 2014, Prithviraj had played a cameo in Mammootty starrer flick Munnariyippu, directed by Venu and produced by Renjith. Both these actors shared screen together for the first time in the film named One Way Ticket directed by Bipin Prabhakar. Mammootty had played a cameo in it by playing himself.

Later, these two shared screen together in the Vysakh directorial film Pokkiri Raja. Prithviraj’s last two production ventures was Double Barrel and Darwinte Parinamam. While Double Barrel become a disaster, Darwinte Parinamam was just an average grosser.

Mammootty’s last release was Puthiya Niyamam which ended up only as an average grosser. He is waiting for the release of White directed by Uday Ananthan and films like Kasaba also on its way. He is now doing Thoppil Joppan by Johny Antony. Prithviraj’s another production venture Anuraga Karikkin Vellam with Asif Ali and Biju Menon in the lead may hit the screens this month.

Jacobinte Swargarajyam by Nivin Pauly-Vineeth Sreenivasan team is already become a blockbuster in box office and it is now running with decent collection here in Kerala. As per reports the film had grossed around 15 crores from 3 weeks of its theatrical run here and got a great start at overseas market.

Now, with its overseas release, the film had created a new record at overseas market for Malayalam cinema. This flick, Jacobinte Swargarajyam had got the biggest number of screens in overseas market in the history of Malayalam Cinema.

The film has releases in UK, USA, Europe and UAE with great number of screens and the number of screens it had got really speaks volume about the popularity this pair of Nivin Pauly and Vineeth Sreenivasan has among the Keralaites who lives all over the world. In UK and Ireland alone, this flick had got around 100 screens and that is phenomenal indeed. The film will release in UK on 6th May. The UAE release of the film will be on 4th May and there it had got around 50 screens.

In Kerala, the film is still running around 80 screens and rest of India screen count is around 20 as well. The USA and Europe screen count is not available and there too it had got great number of screens as per reports. Kammattipaadam Release Date Confirmed

The much awaited Dulquer Salmaan-Rajeev Ravi film named Kammattipaadam is all set to release this month and the release date of the film is confirmed by Dulquer Salmaan himself. He had posted in his official Facebook page that the film will hit the screens on this coming May 20. The film is written by the popular actor/director P Balachandran and he is acting in this film as well.

DOP of the film is Madhu Neelakandan and B Ajith Kumar is the editor of this flick. This is the 3rd directorial venture of Rajeev Ravi, who had earlier given us realistic films like Annayum Rasoolum and Njan Steve Lopez with Fahad Fazil and Farhan Fazil in the lead respectively.

This film Kammattipaadam will tell us the story of Kochi and the history of goondas in Kochi before it shaped up in to a metro city. It is a period film in which Dulquer Salmaan sports 3 different looks. His character name in the film is Krishnan and the film moves forward when he comes back to Kochi from Mumbai after so many years for his friend Gangan played by Vinayakan.

Other actors like Vinay Fort, Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko, Alencier Le etc playing important characters in this film as well. Dulquer Salmaan said that every actor had given their career best performances for this film and he is very much excited know the response of the audience after the release of this film. Dulquer Said that this film is one of the dream projects of Rajeev Ravi.

Kabali is definitely the most awaited Tamil film of this year in Kollywood and all over India. The reason for that is known to everyone as the mere presence of Super Star Rajni Kanth can make any film the most anticipated flick ever. The film is directed by PA Renjith who had earlier directed the Karthi starrer Madras which had become a critical and commercial hit.

In this film Kabali, Rajinikanth is coming as a Don who started his Underworld life at Madhurai and later moved on to Malaysia. The stills of the film had went viral on Facebook right from the day the shoot of the film had started. Now, the first teaser of the film had released today and it came on 11 AM this morning. As expected, the teaser is creating waves in YouTube and going viral in social media.

As per latest reports, the film had almost touched 2 lakhs likes and 26 lakh views within the gap of 11 hours. It has been phenomenal. The Social Media Pandits are checking whether it is a new record or not for a Kollywood Film. Vijay starrer Theri teaser is said to be the only opponent it had before its way to make a YouTube record. The cool look and the firebrand Rajini Style dialogues are the highlight of the teaser and people are absolutely loving it.

Everybody now waiting eagerly for the release of the film which is said to be in June last or July first week. Radhika Apte is playing the female lead in this film opposite Rajinikanth.

King Liar become the highest grosser from Kerala this year

King Liar become the highest grosser from Kerala this year

Dileep starrer King Liar had become the highest grosser in Kerala box office this year. The film directed by Lal and written by Siddique-Lal team after 22 years, had released on April 2nd this year. The film had completed almost 30 days in theaters here. It had received mixed opinion from the audience and critics, but fared well at box office as it had got great family support. Even though the film showed great drop in many major centers after the first two weeks, it had made a good returns from Kerala box office as a result of its grand opening.

As per the latest collection report which is coming in from various trade guides of Kerala, the film is now the biggest grosser from Kerala market this year. The flick had earned a gross close to 17 crore from 4 weeks of its theatrical run here. Still it holds on to many of its screens and doing a decent business on weekends.

New releases like Jacobinte Swargarajyam, Theri, Leela, etc had affected the collection of King Liar but still it emerged as the biggest grosser of this season from Kerala. The Rest of India and overseas collection is not available right now.

The film is made with a budget around 10 crore rupees and it have to cross 20 crore in box office from Kerala to achieve the blockbuster status which it was looking for. The share of this film from Kerala is around 7.5 crores as of now.
