Unni Mukundan wants to play villain against Mohanlal !

Mohanlal, when it comes to mass films, there is no word next to Mohanlal in Mollywood. We can say that he is the best when it comes to mass characters and unarguably the best ever crowd puller of Malayalam Cinema. Mohanlal is the only actor in Mollywood who can bring mass and class through same character and the reason for the success of his mass characters is his attitude too.

Many other stars in Mollywood never let the one who plays the villain role to their mass hero character to stand head to head with them. Ego is the main problem there. But Mohanlal is not like that. He always want each and every actor to have their prominence irrespective of whether they are a big or small artist. That may be the reason why when someone plays Villain to Mohanlal’s mass characters, the villain role become great mass like the hero character of Mohanlal. Now, young star Unni Mukundan too want to do a mass Villain character against Mohanlal.

Unni Mukundan says that he really wants to such a negative character against Mohanlal in a mass movie as only Mohanlal can pull of mass is style. Unni Mukundan says that he really want to play a real bad villain against Mohanlal. The great villain characters that pitted against the superb mass roles of Mohanlal had become the best roles of many actors in their career. Sphadikam for Sphadikam George, Kireedam for Keerikkadan Jose or Mohan Raj, Aaram Thampuran for Narendra Prasad( Kulappully Appan), Narasimham for N F Varghese (Manappally Pavithran), Devasuram for Napolean (Mundakkal Shekharan) etc. There are many others as well. Unni Mukundan wants to join that league of actors by playing a great villain role against the biggest mass hero her in Mollywood.

The film Style in which he playing the hero will be coming on this January 2nd and Tovino Thomas playing a bad villain role opposite him in this upcoming film. The film is an action thriller with romantic elements as well and expected to be a turning point for Unni Mukundan.

Our honorable minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, who looks after the affairs of the cinema field in Malayalam is popular among the people, specially, in the troll pages of Facebook, for the mistakes he does while speaking. His tongue twisted the words he spoke and it comes out in an incomplete or rather awkward manner. We have seen that while he was declaring the state film awards some months back as had pronounced the name of best actress Nazriya Nazim in a wrong manner. He also done that while mentioning other’s names and other awards as well.

Now he reportedly does the same mistake again at the state award distributing ceremony which held at Kottayam yesterday. Deepika’s online page reported that Minister had repeated the tongue twisted mistake while complimenting superstar Mohanlal. Mohanlal was the Chief Guest of the program which had Honorable Chief Minister Ummen Chandy and other dignitaries on the stage as well.

Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan while speaking on the stage had said that Mohanlal is the “Kannunni” of Malayalees. He actually means to say that Mohanlal is the “Kannilunni” of Malayalees. That word means that Malayalees love this actor more than anyone and they keeps him close to their heart. But he wrongly pronounced the word and the audience were burst in to laughs as he said that word wrongly. Deepika reports that the Minister had made the same kind of mistakes 2-3 times again in his speech.

The function was a grand one and the crowd was uncontrollable as Mohanlal was the attraction of the event. Even Police can’t control the crowd fully as they were gone crazy when Mohanlal comes to the stage. The loud cheer of “Lalettaaa” from the crowd was echoing there and they were chanting his name whenever he is visible to them. Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim, Sudev Nair, Abrid Shine, Anoop Menon etc received the awards and Veteran director I V Sasi also honored at the function for his contribution to Malayalam Cinema. Mohanlal said that he will be doing a film with the master director very soon and he audience received that news which utmost joy.

As per reports in this upcoming film Mohanlal may be playing a blind character for the first time in career even though he acted as a blind man in Rajeev Anchal directorial film named Guru. But in that film he had not played a full-fledged blind character. Mohanlal and Priyadarshan will have another film coming as well which is a Russian production with 28 crore budget.

Dulquer Salmaan starrer film Charlie opened well in Kerala Box office. This Martin Prakatt directorial film was written by him along with noted writer Unni R. One of the highlight of the film is the climax part of the film which had Thrissur Pooram in the backdrop. Everybody knows the beauty and the thrill or may be the craziness that surrounds Thrissur Pooram. To recreate that magic on silver screen is a hard task and Martin Prakatt had done it successfully.

Actually the Charli shooting had begun by shooting the Thrissur Pooram for the climax sequence. Martin Prakkat had not decided about the climax part or how they will conceive it till the shoot starts. Then he suddenly decided that they will shoot the climax this way with all the thrill surrounding the Thrissur Pooram. Each day a minimum of 500 junior artist was present in the shooting set and they had spent a lot of money for the climax part itself for its perfection. It can be seen in the film as well because the perfection it gave to the film was just superb. There was a lot of hard work behind all this and the team is now very happy that all that paid off at the end.

The vision of Unni R and Martin Prakatt made it possible and the support by the production team is fabulous as well. It is for the first time that Thrissur pooram is shot for the climax of a Malayalam film. They started all from there. The film has been doing good at box office even though getting mixed reviews. The different manner in which they told the story is attracting a section of the audience and the same may be reason for the disliking of some.

Some expected a mass entertainer as they went disappointed from the theaters. But the ones who loves feel good entertainers loving it and will love it as well. Anyway the weekdays are coming which will actually decide its fate at box office and as of now the flick has been doing good.

Action Hero Biju is a realistic Police story says director Abrid Shine

Nivin Pauly starrer Abrid Shine film named Action Hero Biju is one of the most awaited movies in Mollywood. The film is scheduled to release next year January and the first look poster of the film was out some weeks back. The poster got accepted by everyone and it went viral in social media as well. The film had begun its shooting after the release of Premam and it took a long time to complete as well.

The main factor of the great hope on this film is that it is the first release of Nivin Pauly after the gigantic success of Premam. And also the team of Abrid Shine and Nivin Pauly had already given a critical and commercial success named 1983 last year. There are lots of stories doing its round in social media regarding the content of Action Hero Biju. Some says that its a Mass film and Nivin Pauly’s character is a mass police officer. Some says it’s a comedy film. But director Abrid Shine clarifies things by saying that Action Hero Biju is a realistic police story and not a mass one as people expecting.

This flick has been financed by Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine under the banners of Pauly Jr. Pictures and Full on studios. The film will be distributed by Lal Jose’s LJ Films as well. This will be the first time that Nivin Pauly is playing a cop role in his career as well and his character name in this film is Biju Paulose whose is a Sub Inspector of Police. Abrid Shine says that the film will not have mass action sequences or super hero image to Nivin Pauly. It’s a travel with SI Biju Paulose in a realistic manner. The film will have a humor flavor and it will be like his first film 1983. The film will have action sequences but it was shot in a realistic manner than in a mass way.

The film will hit the screens on January 22. The screenplay of this film was written by Abrid Shine and Muhammad Shafeeq. Anu Immanuel playing the female lead of this film as well.

Mohanlal is playing the central character of Chandrashekhar Yeleti directorial bilingual film named Manmantha. It is Mohanlal’s second Telugu film in his career. SS Rajamouli is now at Ramoji Rao Film City Hyderabad for the shoot of Bahubali- The Conclusion aka Bahubali 2 which is expected to release next year last month.

Charlie grossed around 1.6 crore from Kerala on its second day.!

Dulquer Salmaan’s latest release Chralie is doing good at box office. It had a fantastic start in Box office on its first day collecting 2.18 crore from Kerala. The flick has said to be beaten the first day collection record of Mohanlal starrer Loham, which had earned the record by collecting 2.14 crore from its first day. That too happened this year Onam season. Charlie reportedly surpassed that collection by 2 lakhs margin and made 2.18 crore from its first day. On its second day the collection of this film is around 1.6 crores from Kerala.

Yes, ofcourse there is a slump in its collection with regard to its first day. But the second day gross was also good in terms of financial terms. As per the reports from trade guides the share from second day gross was around 60 lakhs rupees. The film had released outside Kerala n its second day and the rest of India collection is not available correctly. But the film had good number of screens outside Kerala as well and expected to get good collection from that area as well.

The film which told a different love story had generated mixed opinion among the audience. The critics too having mixed opinion about the film. Now we have to look how it fares from Monday in the box office. Because it is a working day and if the film have to declared a super hit or above that it had to get steady collection on its weekdays. The film was directed by Martin Prakatt after ABCD and it was scripted by him in association with Unni R.

Unni R had written the script of last year film Munnariyippu starring Mammootty, directed by Venu. Parvathy Menon played the female lead in this film Charlie and she is getting great applause for her performance along with Dulquer Salmaan. He also getting the appreciation as many says that its his career best performance till date.
Now we have to wait until one more week to know the exact box office status of this film.

Unni Mukundan’s Style release date fixed in January !

Style directed by Ithihasa fame director Binu S, starring young star Unni Mukundan, Tovino Thomas, Balu Varghese, Priya Ghandwal etc was all set for release in this Christmas season as per reports. But due to the theater strike and all that many films postponed its release to the 24th and 25th of December which made a rush of films in the screens of Kerala. To avoid that rush Style had postponed its release to January 2016. At first it heard that Style has been fixed on January 1st. But it was not an officially confirmed news. But now a confirmation has come that it will reach the theaters on January 2 next year.

The trailer of the film had released in the second week of December and had got great response from the film lovers. It had raised the anticipation level of the film as well. The flick is touted as a stylish action thriller is mainly for youth and the makers says that it will have all the elements to be a family entertainer. The presence of Unni Mukundan and Tovino Thomas is the main factor that attracts the youth in to this film.

Unni Mukundan plays the character named Tom who is a car Mechanic and Tovino Thomas plays the negative character in it and his character name is Edgar. Anil Narayanan and Arun Dominic had written the screenplay for this entertainer and Jassie Gift had composed music for this film. Sinoj P Ayyappan had cranked the camera and Rahul Raj had composed the background score.
