Anoop Menon to script a legal thriller next

Actor and writer Anoop Menon is going great guns with a great balance in his acting and writing career. Anoop Menon is now living one of his dreams as he is acting with the legend of legend Mohanlal in a full-fledged role in Padmakumar directorial film named Kanal which rolling now at Ramoji Rao film city at Hyderabad. Even though he had acted with Mohanlal in films like Grandmaster by B unnikrishnan, Rock n Roll by Ranjith and Pranayam by Blessy, in those films he did not have much combination scenes with The Complete Actor.  So this time Anoop is very excited and is really enjoying every moment with the man who had the greatest influence on him as an actor.

And now a news coming in that Anoop Menon will soon write a script for director Padma Kumar and it will be a legal thriller and the news also saying that the title of the film will be The Advocate. Anoop menon will play the lead role in that film in which he plays the role of an advocate as the title suggests. In real life too Anoop Menon is a lawyer who had completed his degree in law years back. That may also inspired him to write one which has some elements of law in it.

There was also news that Anoop Menon may write the screenplay of a Priyadarshan film as well in the near future and sources says that it is almost confirmed while the actor and director had worked together in the director’s previous mollywood film named Aamayum Muyalum in which the actor played a guest role. Anoop Menon had a lots of ventures to come up in the future as he had going through a busy schedule.

The next ones which he has committed as per reports are Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus fame Marthandan’s Paavada which has Prithviraj in the lead, a cameo in Abrid Shine’s Action Hero Biju which has Nivin Pauly in the lead, then Malgudi Days and a Saji Surendran project as well which is on the pipeline. A film named Puluvan Mathayi is also coming from him.

Ilaya thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film which is directing by Chimbudevan is making news from the very moment it has announced. First it was in the news for the cast list in which yesteryear actress Sridevi has made her entry who had given lots of hits with Kamala hasan and other stars years ago. She came back to acting with English Vinglish in Bollywood and through this Vijay film she is now coming back to South Indian film as well.

Later the film made it into the news with the rumours about its title as there was rumours that it will be called Mareesan at first. Later rumours came along that it will be called Garuda and at last it was in the news for its official announcement of title as “Puli”. Later the flick has come in news for many reasons such as Vijay’s remunueration which exceeds 20 crore for this film and also about the budget of the flick which said to be around 120 crore.

It was also in the news for leaking of the look of Vijay from the sets even before the official release.Now it is in the news again as the reports are coming in that it is getting some great financial business much to the joy of vijay, chimbudevan and their fans even before the teaser release. The film had got 14 crore which is record overseas right for a tamil film and it was bought by Ayyankaran International.

In distribution rights in karnataka for the flick is 4.6 crores and it is bought by Cheluvambika pictures. In kerala the distribution will be taken care of by thameens films who are the financer of the film as well. As the latest report suggests on june 22 the teaser of the film will be out which happens to be the birthday of Vijay as well.

The flick had overtaken even Rajinikanth films in its pre-release business and Vijay had once again showed that he is the one who has the most star value in Kollywood. Sruthi haasan and hansika will be the ones who plays the female lead characters in this flick which also has Telugu actor Kiccha Sudeep as well in major role.

Why Mohanlal is so natural..? Many of his fans and film lovers wondered about this aspect of his acting. They asks the same question to themselves and to many other how this actor can be so natural compared to all other actors in the Indian film history or even in worldwide scene. Mohanlal has been hailed as the most natural actor our country has ever seen and even great like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan admires this genius for his unbelievably natural portrayal of characters and fantabulous flexibility and Range he possess. According to the greats in our Indian film Industry Mohanlal is a born actor and he is not at all acting he is just behaving as a character. To behave as different character is the most difficult thing to do in front of the camera and he does it simply like plucking a flower.

Director Priyadarshan recalls one incident in which the Late film maker , one of the greatest in Indian Cinema Mr. Balachander said about Mohanlal and he hasa view about why Mohanlal has been so natural which others can only dream of. Priyadarshan says that incident to us. Once Priyadarshan and Balachander came out of the theater after watching Priyadarshan’s film ‘Chithram’ which turned out to be the classic of Mollywood which has the record of the film which had run highest number of days in theaters with regular shows in Kerala and it happens to be 366 days.

After coming out from the theater Balachander asked him his view about the difference between the acting of Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan. When said he don’t know much about it then the maestro Balachander said that Kamal Haasan acts in a way that he is always conscious about the camera in front of him and we can see it in his face. But Mohanlal acts in way that there is no camera at all in front him and he behaves as if the camera is hidden somewhere and filming what he enacts. That is why we feel that he is so natural and he never over acts as well. Even in highly dramatic scenes we get the most subtle expressions from Mohanlal and he is such a genius in that.

But Priyadarshan says that Mohanlal has a different take on this. Mohanlal says that when the actor who is standing opposite him is performing well he also raise up to that level. But if the co-actor goes bad it may affect his performance as well. In any case we all know that Mohanlal is the best ever actor India has ever produced and even greats will testify for that.

Premam got better of Drishyam in US in its opening weekend

Nivin Pauly starrer romantic comedy named Premam helmed by Alphonse Puthren is continuing with breaking records here and there. It had already broke a number of records such as highest grossing film in the opening week in Mollywood and fastest 20 crore collecting movie etc from mollywood. The flick has released in US last week and it also set a new record there as well by breaking the Drishyam record of the $70k gross in its opening weekend and Premam had made it better by collecting $97K in its opening weekend there.

Drishyam is the highest grossing film ever in Kerala, outside kerala market in all India level and also in the overseas market from Mollywood. In US also the highest grossing mollywood film is Drishyam. Not only in UK, Drishyam had become the best in UAE, UK and other overseas markets as well. It is a record seemed to very difficult to broke. Reports suggests that if Premam goes like this way there is a chance that it may overtake Drishyam in some places. Drishyam holds the unique record of running 100 days at UAE and it was unique in the sense that only Titanic is the only foreign film which had run 100 days at UAE which had made better by Drishyam crossing 100 days of theater run there.

In Great Britain as well Drishyam had made its mark becoming the highest grossing Malayalam movie ever and it also seems a very hard task to be overtaken. Drishyam Kerala Gross is close to 45 crore and from worldwide collections it is up to almost 66 crore rupees. As total revenue from remake rights and satellite rights the flick had made an unbelievable business of Rupees 75 crore or above. The second best in collection records from mollywood is Bangalore Days which had a total revenue around 35-40 crore and Premam till now had collected around 22-23 crors as per unofficial collection reports from various sources.

Malayalam film industry is going great guns from this last Vishu season with Blockbusters, mega hits and super hits like Premam, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Bhaskar The Rascal, Ennum Eppozhum etc.

A exciting news coming in which is not confirmed and it says that Shamili, the younger sister of actress Shalini may come back to acting career as a heroine of Kiccha Sudeep in a Kannada film directed by K S Ravikumar. Lingaa was the previous film of K S Ravikumar in which Super star Rajinikanth was the hero which unfortunately bombed at the box office. Kiccha Sudeep is quite popular among south Indian film lovers mainly of his character in the film Eega (Eecha) which was directed by S S Raja Mauli.

Malayalees can’t forget Shamili and we still fondly remember her as baby Shamili who acted in many Malayalam films as child actress and the most popular ones being Late Bharathan directorial film Malootty in which Jayaram and Urvashi played the lead roles and second one is Harikrishnans conceived by Fazil in which the legends of Mollywood Mohanlal and Mamootty played the lead characters and she had played the role of their sister. Before that she had acted in a popular film in which she acted as a child artist and it was a Kamal directorial flick named Pookkalam Varavayi which also has Jayaram in the lead role.

Asif Ali also turning to production

Young star of Mollywood Asif Ali is on a high with his recent release conceived by V K Prakash titled Nirnnayakam got excellent reviews and the Bobby-Sanjay scripted film has turned out to be the career best performance of Asif Ali and the best film in his career as well. Asif ali had took a break for a short period and now coming back with some great films and hopeful ones. Nirnnayakam was the first among that and there is more to come such as Double Barrel, Adventures Of Omanakuttan, Happy Birthday, IDI – Inspector Dawood Ibrahim, Kohinoor etc.

But the latest news from the Asif Ali camp is that he is turning a film producer with the film named Kohinoor and it will be directed by Vinay Govind. Vinay’s govind’s first film was with Asif ali titled Kili Poyi which was a success among youth. Kohinoor is Vinay Govind’s second film and after this he will have a film with Nivin Pauly in the lead titled Amar Chithra Gadha as well which may start shooting by the end of this year.

Asif Ali’s production company has named as Adam’s world of Entertainment and Adam is the name of his son. The shoot of its first venture Kohinoor will begin from the first week of July at Kozhikode. Renjith Kamala Shankar and Saleel Drishyan together wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for this Vinay Govind film. Along with Asif Ali, popular actors like Indrajith, Aju Varghese, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Chemban Vinod will play important characters in this flick.

The film will not have any importance to heroine and other artists are not decided yet. The DOP of the film will be done by Pradeep Varma and M D Sreekumar is the production controller of this flick. Popular Costume designer Sameera Saneesh will be the costume designer for this flick and art direction will be handled by Ajayan Mangad. Rahul Raj is the music composer of this movie.

When they started this enterprise there had been only 30 investors but now it has been increased up to 105 investors. The current investment ceiling per investor is Rs. 5 lakh and the dividends will be paid to each and every investor after 3 years depending upon the financial situation and the company.  The biggest and unique advantage of this model is that the investment is not on a particular movie, but to the company, so that the returns are also not depended on the box office collections of just one project, but on the overall performance of the company. With the type of response they received for their concept, Finecut is all excited and is getting ready with a series of new projects, which will definitely be a beginning of a new era for Malayalam movies.

The report says that his debut film will be conceived by a director named Vipin das who is also a debutant and the film is titled as Muthugow which is a famous comedy oneliner from Mohanlal’s blockbuster movie Thenmavin Kombathu. The shoot of the film will start in september-october this year and an unconfirmed reports says that Friday Film house will finance this flick. Vijay Babu is doing a key role in this film as well.

Earlier Suresh Gopi’s daughter Bhagya Suresh made her debut in Mollywood as a singer and composer as she composed and sang an English song for the film Jo we lo directed by debutant Shyama Prakash. Rudra Simhasanam and My God are the two films of Suresh Gopi which is all set to release.

Mammootty becomes AMMA’s new secretary

Mega star Mammootty has been chosen as the new General secretary of the association of Malayalam movie artists today. Innocent will continue as the President of AMMA and Idavela Babu will be there as secretary as well. Super star Mohanalal has been the General secretary of the association for almost 6 years as he elected as the General secretary in 2009. But this time he opts out from the position as he had many other commitments and after Mohanlal naturally Mammootty has been chosen as the General secretary. There will not be any competition to join the executive committee of AMMA which has around 350 members in it. The time to submit the nomination is over and this time there will not be any election as there is no competition as we said above.

AMMA is the first association of its kind in India and after the formation and working of this AMMA association other film industries in India also formed such associations and they all are working properly. Mohanlal, Madhu etc are the ones who really lead to the formation of this association. Innocent- Mohanlal- Idavela babu team was the best leaders AMMA ever have and they led the association with great developments and absolute sincerity.  Even though many crisis like Thilakan issue, Suresh Gopi issue and rifts with other associations came up after the formation of the association, this trio had done wonderfully well to hold it together and make it one of the best or The best in India.

They are doing many activities such as giving pension to age old members of the association titled as KAINEETTAM every month. They also does stage shoes for raising funds for actors who are suffering and also done many charity works using this funds as well. They have plans such as starting a new publication which will reach to everyone monthly and also planning to start a co-operative society based on Kochi.

Ganesh Kumar and Dileep are the Vice-Presidents of the association and Kunchacko Boban is the treasurer who also chosen in the 2009 election. AMMA’s general body is one which makes all decisions regarding its working and all other matters.

The people of Nepal are really suffering from epidemics which has spreading throughout the country just after the destruction happened due to the Earthquake. And this act initiated by Mammootty and Pathanjali Hospital will be of a great help to the people of Nepal along with the help of various kind hearted persons which they are receiving from all around the world.
