Nivin Pauly did not rejected Santhosh Sivan film
There was some news came last day that Young actor Nivin Pauly had rejected a Santhosh Sivan directorial flick which has Manju Warrier as the female lead. The news has become a topic for discussion in social medias about why Nivin Pauly had rejected a film offered to him by Maestro like Santhosh Sivan and the discussion also went in the way that whether Nivin Pauly pulled out of the flick due to the presence of Manju Warrier or not. Even the fans of Nivin Pauly asking this question as why he dropped such a big budget project by a gifted person like Santhosh Sivan and also give away the chance to work with an actress like Manju Warrier.
But as per the new report it says that Nivin Pauly had actually not dropped or rejected the project of Santhosh Sivan. When Santhosh sivan told him about the character and the story of the film nivin liked it a lot and he agreed to do the film even without demanding any advance as remuneration. They planned to start the shoot in the first week of July as well. But things were not went according to plans for Nivin as his own production Action Hero Biju and also some other films got delayed due to some technical reasons and they all had to reschedule their filming date as per the delay.
Then Nivin Pauly who got into trouble with this as he had to adjust his dates for all those scheduled films which he had committed very earlier asked Santhosh Sivan to reschedule the shoot of his film to October month this year. But that was not acceptable for Santhosh Sivan as he had some other commitments that too in Hollywood which is starting in the month of September this year and there was no way for him other than to search for another actor to play the male lead.
Nivin Pauly also agreed to that and the news spreading was in a negative sense which may affect Nivin. That is why the team behind that film itself gave the above explanation for what happened regarding this matter.
Mammootty’s green signal to Dulquer Salmaan
Dulquer Salmaan who is growing each day as an actor and young star of Mollywood now has admirers all over south India as well with his superb show in Mani Ratnam’s flick OK Kanmani and he is back to Mollywood now with his latest project is rolling now. It is titled as Charlie conceived by Martin Prakkat who had made Dulquer a crowd puller 2 years before with the film ABCD. The new look of Dulquer with that beard has already become a viral hit in social media circles. This young man had great passion for cinema and in a recent interview to a popular media he opens his mind about the way in which he came to cinema and his father’s role in that.
Mammootty is always looked upon as a perfect father figure in Mollywood with his gentleman attitude and his strong character which is like a model for all to follow. Dulquer said that his father had no interest in the matter of his son Dulquer coming to the film industry. Like every other father he also wanted Dulquer to study well enough and to earn a respectful job which Dulquer loves as well. Because of that wish he sent Dulqurr to United States of America to study and after studies Dulqurr joined for a job in Dubai as well.
While doing the job Dulquer had studies editing and photography and he also made time to do some short films as well. Even when he is doing that job his mind s full of cinema and at last he revelaed to his father Mammootty that he wanted to work in the creative field like cinema and it is his passion which he loves to do in his life ahead. He said he want to work in films.
To that Mammootty replied that in cinema he will have to work hard and the tag of a star’s son was only an entry pass to the film world and not a ticket to stay there forever. If he wants to be there then he has to work hard like any other and have to prove his caliber to the whole world. Make a decision after thinking sensibly. Dulquer says that it was a green signal from his father’s part and that was all needed and it was that which made him to reach where he is now in the industry.
Two police stories to grace Mollywood
In 1980’s and 1990’s Mollywood had witnessed many cop stories and most of them were super successes as well. Our super stars like Mohanlal, Mammootty etc had done many cop roles and most of them were super hits and memorable as well. For example Mamootty’s character in Avanazhi and Inspector Balram and Mohanlal’s characters in Mukham, Kariyila Kaattu Pole and Vanadanm are some of the roles Malayalai audience can never forget. But the real hero in cop roles was not Mohanlal or Mammootty. It was none other than our action star Suresh Gopi and he was the best in police role Mollywood has ever seen till now.
Suresh Gopi’s association with Shaji Kailas and Renji Panicker gave us some of the great cop stories ever made in Mollywood like Commissioner and Ekalavyan. Suresh Gopi had done many police roles in his career directed by many film makers such as Joshiey, K Madhu etc apart from Shaji Kailas. He was that perfect in those roles and people love to watch him in that uniform as well.
But after the year 2000 malayalam had witnessed a decrease in cop stories and people seems to have lost their interest in police films. Suresh Gopi also was going through a bad patch of his career in most part of the last 15 years. Writer Renji panicker and director Shaji kailas was no different at all from Suresh Gopi’s situation during these years. But at last it was Renji Panicker and Suresh Gopi again strike back with a police story named Bharath Chandran IPS and later we saw another great film named The Tiger conceived by Shaji KAilas in the script of B Unni Krishnan. But those successes too did not bring back that fruitful 1990’s for the cop related stories.
Many people tried it but not become very successful apart from some rare successes like Grandmaster starring Mohanlal and Memmories starring Prithviraj conceived by B Unni Krishnan and Jeethu Joseph respectively. But now two back to back police stories is coming in mollywood trying to get our cops in track. This time the effort is from the side of our young guns named Nivin pauly and Asif Ali.
Nivin Pauly starrer and Abrid Shine directorial flick named Action Hero Biju is already started filming. In this flick Nivin plays the role of a police officer. Asif ali is coming with IDI- Inspector Dawood Ibrahim which will be directed by debutant duo Sajid Yahiya and Arouz Irfan and the shoot will start soon. We can expect that this may bring back good times for cop stories here again and we will get to see some highly thrilling investigative action thrillers.
Drishyam final collection report
Drishyam , the flick which had released on 2013 December 19 is still the highest grossing Mollywood film ever and it has as many records in its kitty as it has become a record as well in Mollywood Cinema history till now. Many people are now asking about the final collection report of Drishyam as in may online pages there is a debate going on about whether Premam will break Drishyam’s collection record or not. So everybody is very keen to know the official and final collection report of this film and we are giving you that one here today.
Drishyam was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner named Ashirvad Cinemas which arguably the most successful production house in Mollywood after the year 2000 in which it had made its first production venture named Narasimham which has been the all-time Blockbuster of Mollywood from 2000 to the year 2005 till Rajamanikyam overtakes it by a narrow margin. But considering the vast difference in ticket rates in 2000 and 2005 and even now there is no film which had collected that much amount in Mollywood. Drishyam has a budget of Rupees 4. 5 crore rupees including the cost of print and publicity. The film had ran more than 27000 shows in Kerala and above 32000 as a whole.
The Kerala gross of the film is above 44 crore rupees and and its all India gross collection except Kerala is above 10 crore rupees. It had also got unbelievable reception worldwide as well and it had grossed above 11 cr from outside India. The satellite right was sold to Asianet for a record price of 6.5 crore and the film had remade in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu as well. From remake rights and other sources the film had amassed another 3 crore and the total business done by the film is above 75 crores as per the official and final report we got.
The film had created record by collecting above 1 crore from both USA and UK and it was the first ever instance of a Malayalam film doing that kind of business outside. In UAE also it equals the record of Titanic by running 100 days there as well and in Kerala in had ran around 180 days. Drishyam holds the record of the Mollywood film which had ran most number of days in all other major Indian cities as well.
Nivin-Mohanlal comparison is because people love them
For last few weeks there has been a lot of unwanted discussions and debates going on in social medias which has been triggered by some idiots who began to compare young actor Nivin Pauly with the legend Mohanlal who unarguably the greatest actor Indian cinema had ever seen and in case of mollywood he is the best in business now whether it is his star value or about the acting skills. Nivin’s recent successes that made some people to compare him with Mohanlal. But there has been a lot and lots of opposition came from all around against this comparison and unfortunate say the least that Nivin Pauly now even had many haters for this sole reason of comparison with Mohanlal made by some stupid people.
Later Nivin Pauly himself come out through an interview to a popular media and said that those who are doing this comparisons is as stupid as a many could be and he cannot even dream of come near even the shadow of this legend named Mohanlal aka Lalettan as we fondly calls him. According to Nivin he can’t even touch his shadow even if he does 100 films then why these stupid comparisons he asks.
Actor/writer/director Vineeth Sreenivasan who is also the one who found Nivin had a different take on this issue. Vineeth Sreenivasan is the mentor and guide of Nivin as Nivin himself had said it. Vineeth had said in a recent interview that the comparison made between Mohanlal and Nivin Pauly really an unwanted one. Mohanlal is in that much height to even touch him as an actor or star is close to impossible. Nivin Pauly knows this as well. But people compares Nivin Pauly with Mohanlal may be because of another reason says Vineeth Sreenivasan.
According to Vineeth, Mohanlal is the most loved actor in Mollywood. Now they love Nivin pauly as well as an actor. People tend to compare someone they love to the ones which they love the most. So it was natural that Nivin is compared with Mohanlal because they love Nivin Pauly and they love Mohanlal the most. We hope that everyone thinks like this positive then there will not be any trouble regarding this issue.

Premam was such a big success that it had really become a turning point in the career of many actors and technicians worked in that flick. Just like when Drishyam become the biggest ever success of Mollywood it had really become a career changing film for actors like Kalabhavan Shajon, Esther, Asha Sharath, Ansiba Hasan and Neeraj Madhav, this flick Premam also had become a career changing one for many and the most celebrated character of this film is not the male lead Nivin Pauly’s George but his second love in the film named Malar who is a college lecturer of George and a Tamil girls as well. The character named Malar is played by none other than a debutant named Sai Pallavi and she had really become a sensation among youth with this character.
The most celebrated character in this film is her Malar and people are wonder struck with her pretty looks and amazing naturality in acting. Even Alphonse Puthren the director may not have thought that this character would make such an impact to the level that it is going now when he was creating it. Sai Pallavi was now one of the most popular actress among the Malayali youth owe to this character and she can’t be dream of a better debut than this. She is on cloud nine after such a reception for her in to the world of cinema.
Sai Pallavi says that she is thankful to each and everyone who worked in Premam and the whole credits mainly goes to Alphonse Puthren whose support and care is the one that helped her to achieve this. She says that the whole Premam team was just like her family and it was on the day of release that she understood that Nivin Pauly is a star among the audience. He was so simple and a man without any ego.
She says that Nivin Pauly is a freaking super star and a great colleague to work with who always makes you fell comfortable. Sai Pallavi showered praise on the DOP Anand and other co-actresses and actors as well.
