Mammootty will fight it out with Aamir Khan and Shahid kapoor

National film awards for the best performances in different categories, of the films released in 2014 will be declared most probably in the last week of March 2015. According to the reports coming in the competition for best actor of 2014 will be between Mammootty for his performance in the film Munnariyippu, Aamir Khan for his performance in the film PK and Shahid Kapoor for his performance in the film named Haider.

There may be surprises like Suraj Venjarammood got last year’s best actor award. But we are giving the most probable candidates who can get this award this time. 11 Malayalam films are submitted before the Central jury by the regional jury. There 80 films from all over India is taking part in the race to win the awards in various categories as well. Veteran Kollywood film director Bharathi Raja is the chairman of the central jury.

Kangana Raut and Priyanka Chopra are the leading actresses who has got more chances of winning the award for best actress of 2014. Kangana for her performance in the film Queen and Priyanka Chopra foe her performance in the film named Mary Kom. The 11 Malayalam films that has been submitted before the central jury are Munnariyippu directed by Venu, Ottal directed by Jayaraj, Oralappokkam directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, Alif directed by K Muhammad Koya, Jalam directed by M Padma Kumar, Njan Ninnod Koode Und directed by Priyanandanan, Compartment directed by national award winning actor Salim Kumar ,Ain directed by Sidharth Siva, Life Partner directed by Padma kumar and Njan directed by Renjith.

Banglore Days will compete in the section of Popular movie award. The regional jury comprises of Directors like Kamal and Bhagyaraj had selected the film for submitting to the central jury and central jury is considering the films now for the awards. Mollywood this time had strong competition from Bollywood which have great films like Haider, Queen, Mary Kom and PK.

Ottal directed by Jayaraj has the chance to win the best regional film award as per reports. From Tamil film industry films like Jigarthanda directed by Karthik Subbaraj and Thalaimuraigal directed by Balu Mahendra is the race for awards. Apart from that Bengali and Marathi films also are in strong contention for the awards. Last the best actor award was shared by Mollywood actor Suraj Venjarammood and Bollywood actor Raj Kumar Rao.

Mollywood is all prepared to wake up from sleep

Mollywood is all set wake up to a number releases that is going to hit the screen from the coming weekend. The Vishu festival season or the summer vacation season is waiting for the release of a handful of great films and everyone hoping that it will bring back the people to the theaters and will bring back Mollywood to its days of glory. According to the latest reports from March 20 to April 15th there will be 12 films ready to hit the screens. In these 12 films 4 of them will be from Kollywood and that too much awaited here.

On March 20 three releases from Mollywood set themselves to hit the silver screen and those are Dulquer Salmaan- Nithya Menon starrer and the directorial debut of Jenuse Muhammad 100 days of Love, Roopesh Peethambaran’s second film You Too Brutus which is an Asif Ali starrer and the 3rd one is Jayaram’s 200th Film Sir CP.

March 27 will be a big day as there are as much as four releases on that day including 2 Tamil films. They are Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikkad- Manju Warrier film Ennum Eppozhum which is expected to be a sure bet at Box office. Second Mollywood film releasing hat day is Oru Vadakkan Selfi which is directed by debutant Prajith and Written by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Nivil Pauly is the male lead in that film and it is much awaited too. The Tamil films which are releasing on that day is Komban and Vaalu starring Karthi and Simbu respectively.

The next Big releases are Uthama Villain starring Kamal Haasan on April 02, Maryada Raman Starring popular actor Dileep on April 04. Mega star Mammootty’s offering in this season is Bhaskar The Raskal which is expected to hit the screens on April 14 and the film is directed by Super hit director Siddique from the Siddique-Lal Duo.

On the same day Quite interestingly the Mani Ratnam film Ok Kanmani starring Dulquer Salman also preparing to hit the screens and and we are saying it interesting that it is for the first time that Mammootty’s and his son Dulquer’s film coming face to face on Box office. On April 15th Premam starring Nivin Pauly, directed by Alphons Putheran also going to release as per reports.

Mollywood has hits in the first 2 months of 2015

For last 3-4 days Mollywood is in news for the controversy created by the statement of Liberty Basheer who is the president of film Exhibitors federation of Kerala. He said to an online media interview that Mollywood has no successful films this year till now and those films which are claimed to be hit films are only claiming fake success. Later Milan Jaleel , the producer of Fireman came to the media saying that his film Fireman is a successful film and he gave financial base to prove his point as well.

Anyway when we check some financial matters of this year’s Mollywood films we found out that indeed Mollywood has hit films this year and those are Picket 43 directed by Major Ravi and starred by Prithviraj and second one is Fireman starring Mammootty and directed by Deepu Karunakaran. When we have these hit films the baseless controversies were results only in making the people disappointed who is associated with or worked hard for those films.

According to the financial chart given by Ullattil films who distributed the film Fireman, it says that the film had already got 3 crore rupees as distributor share and also got rupees 4.65 as satellite right. The film is still running in almost 70 theaters and then how can we say that film is flop..?. When we consider the case of Picket 43 the film has got over 2 crore rupees as distributor share and also got rupees 2.50 crore as satellite right. The director Major Ravi asks then how that film is said to a flop one.

He says that when responsible people like Liberty Basheer is telling these kind of false information it will affect the whole industry and also demotivate the people who is working hard to make a film successful. It will also make the audience misunderstood the fact and can lead to make them stay away from the theaters which will do nothing good to our industry. Even though exam season and World cup cricket had affected the collection of fireman, the film still getting above average collection says Sasidharan, the distributor of Fireman.

He had his own opinion about every scene but never control a director’s choice. In Papanasham there are some more emotional scenes than in Drishyam and he did that in a terrific manner. Jeethu said Kamal Haasan’s performance sometimes made his eyes filled with tears.

And when it comes to Mohanlal, Jeethu said that Mohanlal is an actor who will make you speelbound with his performance. He is a complete director’s actor and he is a kind of actor who can give you anything and everything you want as a director. He said that at many points in Drishyam Mohanlal just him awe struck with unbelievable performance. He can make the character to reach to the heights even with a single look or expression that which the director can only dream of.

Ratheesh, late actor who is been considered as one of the best ever actor in negative roles Mollywood had ever seen. When I V Sasi planned a film named Thrishna based on the script of M T Vasudevan Nair, he wanted to cast new faces in the film. He looked for it and considered many actors but without any success. That time Ratheesh was a popular and busy actor and when I V Sasi called him regarding this matter.

Ratheesh said that he will send a young man and he has the talent to be a great actor may be a better actor than Ratheesh himself in the coming years.It was Mammootty whom Ratheesh sent to I V Sasi. Mammootty delivered good performance and I V Sasi is so impressed with his performance that Sasi made him the hero of his next film Ahimsa as well.
