Namasthe Bali Review

0

The latest release in Mollywood this week is Namasthe Bali directed by K.V Bejoy and in one word we can sum it up as absolute crap. The title of the film makes you feel that something fresh is there in the film. But that is really a wrong thought. The story of the film take place in the island of bali in Indonesia and we see an engagement in the outset, of Chandy played by Aju Varghese and Annamma played by Roma. But Chandy went missing after the engagement without any reason and Annama herself went in search her future husband.

The film had too many unwanted scenes which have no connection to each other and the standard of comedy is just pathetic to say the least. There are many characters which only speak nonsense and the scripting was so poor that it does not establish any connection with the scenes and events in the film. Annama played by Roma who reaches Bali meets Sunny played by Manoj K Jayan and also some other malayalai people. Sunny and his chef character played by Balu Vaghese helps her in there and at last she able to found out Chandy who really cheated her, but in a really unexpected situation.

The story mainly dealt with the transformation that the character of Annamma undergoes after she reaches Bali. She was a very conservative girls before and the experiences in life makes her a dynamic and confident girl and that makes Chandy who left her to come-back to her. It’s a kind f revenge he took on him for leaving her but in rather comical way. They tries it to be a hilarious one but failed miserably.

The performance of the artists has nothing to boast off. Roma is looking pretty but has nothing to do in it. Aju Varghese just has to repeat what does in other films. And other actors like Manoj K Jayan, Balu Varghese. Sunil Sughatha, Devan, Neena Kuruppu etc also have nothing much to do and the scripting was terrible which made them all the more weak. They intended it to be a fun ride, but for the spectators it is a disaster. Gopi sundar’s bgm and songs were just raised to the average level and the camera work does not impressed at all.

We recommend all of you to save your money rather than wasting it completely by watching these kind of craps.

Director : K.V Bejoy
Release Date : 27/2/2015
Cast : Roma, Aju Varghese, Manoj K Jayan

Kaaki Sattai Review

0

Kaaki Sattai is the latest Kollywood release starring Sivakarthikeyan, Prabhu and Sri Divya and the film is directed by R S Durai Senthilkumar and produced by none other than the young Kollywood actor par excellence Dhanush. The story and screenplay of the film is also written by R S Durai Senthilkumar. Sivakarthikeyan is playing the role of a cop and it an important decision in the career of an aspiring Young mass hero.  Sivakarthikeyan fulfilled that dream through this film, Kaakai Sattai. Sivakarthikeyan is a kind of actor who can handle comedy with great timing, innocent boy next door mannerisms and the actor has the skill to make the audience move with his character by using his great and energetic screen presence. Sivakarthikeyan done this with elan in Kaaki Sattai and the police uniform looks very fit for him.

The film has given prominence to the comedy element with the presence of actors like Imman Annachi and  Mayilsamy and also Siva Karthikeyan himself keep the spectators engaged with their comedy numbers and oneliners. When Mano Bala enters the scene in the second half of  the film the film loses its grip a bit in comedy as the spectators can feel that it is more than enough and there are many unwanted scenes. Even though the villain of the film begins as a strong character but the usual scripting pattern just made him a cliched character towards the climax portions and it really pulled down the film.

Even though the film has some interesting investigating scenes and something thrilling it does not allow the spectators to immerse into the story fully due to the loose ends of the script. And also the placement of the songs are not all done correctly as the songs comes one after another in quick succession. But the music was good and the beautiful visuals by cinematographer Sukumar and great dance steps by Sivakarthikeyan make the song enjoyable for the audience.

Other actors in the cast list like Prabhu, Sri Divya and Vijay Raaz has done their part to perfection and it has to say that Prabhu stole the show at many points with his awesome screen presence. Others like Manobala are just been typecasted and had nothing much to offer to the spectators as well as to the story. As the head of the music department Anirudh had done a great job with his songs and also with his terrific back ground score.

Sivakarthikeyan had done well as he danced well, fought well and also smoothly handled the comic portions. But the story is not handled very well by the director and that is the main factor that pulled down the film. It is not at all a boring affair. But not raised up to the expected level and just remained to a group of one-time watchable average mass masala flick.

Badlapur Review

0

Badlapur is the latest release from Bollywood directed by Sriram Raghavan and starred by Varun Dhawan. The main cast includes Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi, Nawasudeen Siddiqui, Yami Gautham, Divya Dutta, Vinaya Pathak and Radhika Apte. The film tells a traditional revenge story but in a rather great manner. The character development, the narration and the performance of the artists were just amazing to say the least. The scripting was just superb and that make the audience glued to their seats.

Raghu the character played by Varun Dhawan loses his wife Misha, played by Yami Gautham. He also loses his kid along with her. His wife and child was killed by two bank robbers played by Nawasudeen Siddiqui and Vinay Pathak. Their character names were Liak and Harman respectively. The story then move to 15 years later where we see Raghu wants to take revenge upon the killers of his wife and child and he turns to a brutal blood thirsty person. Only Jhimli, a prostitute sees the good inside Liak and she remains as his companion till the end. The character of Jhimli is played by Huma qureshi. The film moves forward with lot of unpredictable events that happens between Raghu and Liak. The end can be predictable but the way it was made was quite thrilling.

The highlight of the film is the mind blowing performances of Varun Dhawan and Nawasudeen Siddiqui. Varun Dhawan showed to the viewers that he had great potential inside him and he is not just a chocolate hero anymore. Nawasudeen Siddiqui is just unbelievable and we can say that he had just given his career best performance as he just as Liak. The looks, dialogues and expressions which give to the character was awesome.

The supporting cast of Vinay Pathak, Divya Dutta, Radhika Apte and others also did their part to perfection and the master story teller Sriram Raghavan has just delivered one of his best as director and also screen writer. His screenplay along with Arjit Biswas was so tight and well-made that there is no scope for a loop hole in it. This is one movie that you cant predict anything even in  your wildest imaginations, such was the  brilliance in its  scripting .

Any way Badlapur is a kind of film which remains in your memory long after you watches it and don’t miss this guys. If you do ,you will miss one of the best revenge dramas ever made in India .

Pranav Mohanlal, son of the most loved Malayalam actor Mohanlal is not to acting career as of now. Some days earlier there has been news spreading in social medias that Pranav Mohanlal will be the hero of the upcoming Mollywood project IDI-Inspector Dawood Ibrahim directing by Arouse Irfan and Sajid Yahia. The news spread that Pranav will be gearing up for a grand entry into Mollywood with an action Comedy flick and it will be IDI by the newcomer director duo.

But sources close to Pranav said that Pranav had no such plans as of now and he is been concentrating on direction. Pranav is currently working as an assistant director of hit maker Jeethu Joseph in his latest film Life Of Josootty starring Dileep. This is Pranav’s second film with Jeethu Joseph as he was Jeethu’s assistant in Tamil film Paapanaasham, which was the official Tamil remake of Drishyam, the biggest ever success Mollywood has seen. Mohanlal fans and many other people were eager to see Pranav on screen and the news was become so popular due to this eagerness. Anyway all the fake news spreading was now at rest as Pranav’s close circle itself reveled that Pranav is not coming to acting profession as of now.

But pranav had acted in 3 films in Mollywood. He had acted in a film directed by Major Ravi named Punarjani and won the state award for the best child artist for the performance in that film. His next one was the film Onnaman directed by master director Thampi Kannanthanam , in which he played the childhood role of none other than his father Mohanlal. And Pranav’s last appearance on screen was in Sagar Alias Jacky directed by Amal Neerad in which he just appeared in one scene in a song sequence along with Mohanlal.

Then on people are speculating about his entry to Mollywood following his father’s footsteps. Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan and Jayaram’s son Kalidasan has come to acting profession and that too made people think and talk so much about Pranav’s entry to acting profession as he is the son of arguably  the greatest living actor in our country today.

Sivakarthikeyan’s fans and some others already had started comparing him with Ilaya thalapathy Vijay and Thala Ajith. But in a recent interview with a media Sivakarthikeyan said that it is not at all fair to compare him with the great super stars like Vijay and Ajith.

Vijay and Ajith are those stars who really worked hard to reach where they are now and they had to undergo a lot of struggles in their career in get to the top. Every person has to go through ups and downs in their career and life and people like Vijay and Ajith has seen all those and overcome all those to reach the level of a so called Super star or to become he man of masses.

Sivakarthikeyan also said that he wants to be selective in his approach and he is not at all a believer in quantity. He wants to do all kinds of character and doing a mass action hero kind of role is just come out of that mindset.
