Samyuktha Menon gets nostalgic on school reopening day!

As schools in Kerala are reopening today (June 1), actress Samyuktha Menon took a nostalgic trip down the memory lane by sharing some of her childhood photos. As a tiny kid, she looks all cute and adorable. The ‘Theevandi’ actress also wished the students best of luck through her official Instagram handle.

As part of the school reopening day, popularly called ‘praveshanolsavam’ in Malayalam, actors Mammootty, Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu also shared their wishes to the students. Classes are being conducted online as it was done last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Samyuktha Menon has a couple of promising projects coming up. She is reportedly playing Prithviraj’s wife in this Shaji Kailas directorial, ‘Kaduva’. She is also making her Telugu debut with the Nandamuri Kalyan Ram starrer ‘Bimbisara’. It is a time travel movie laced with fantasy elements in it. Debutant director Mallidi Vashist is helming the film. Samyuktha and Catherine Tresa will be seen as the two female leads.

Anoop Menon is starring in a new thriller film titled ’21 gms’. It is written and directed by debutant Bibin Krishna. Last day the film’s first look motion poster got released online. It features Anoop Menon, Ranjith, Anu Mohan, Renji Panicker and Leona Lishoy. Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran shared it through their respective social media handles.

Sharing the motion poster, Mohanlal wrote,

Watch: It’s a complete Dhanush show in Jagame Thandhiram trailer!

As announced earlier, the makers of ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ have release online exactly at 10 in the morning. The trailer is an out and out Dhanush show. He plays a character named Suruli, a small-time thug based in Madurai who later becomes a gangster in London. The star’s energy levels and impeccable timing seem to be the film’s biggest highlights.

From the trailer, we can make out that Aishwarya Lekshmi plays a Sri Lankan Tamil. Hollywood actor James Cosmo, who has starred in films like ‘Braveheart’, ‘Troy’ and the popular TV series ‘Game of Thrones’, is essaying a major role as a crime lord. Joju George, who is making his Tamil debut, also seems to be playing a gangster in the film.

‘Jagame Thandhiram’ is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The core technical team includes music director Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer Shreyas Krishna and editor Vivek Harsha. S Sashikanth of Y Not Studios is producing the film, which is scheduled for a direct Netflix release on June 18.

Almost all the big names of Malayalam film industry have heaped praise on ‘Operation Java’. More recently, Lukman, who played one of the major roles in it, shared a Whatsapp screenshot of superstar Mammootty praising the film. The youngster also wrote that the message from Mammootty made his day. It must be noted that the two had worked together in ‘Unda’.

Directed by debutant Tharun Moorthy, ‘Operation Java’ is about how two engineering graduates join and help the Kochi cyber cell department in their operations. The film majorly addresses the issue of unemployment. Balu Varghese and Lukman play the two lead roles. Binu Pappu, Vinayakan, Irshad, Shine Tom Chacko, Alexander Prashanth, Dhanya Ananya and Mamitha Baiju also star in it.

‘Operation Java’ has also been praised by some other celebs like Prithviraj Sukumaran, Suresh Gopi, Kunchacko Boban, Rosshan Andrrews, Sathyan Anthikad, Midhun Manuel Thomas, Anoop Menon, Manju Warrier and Aju Varghese.

Writer-director Muhsin Parari is coming up with a new music video titled ‘From A Native Daughter’. It is the third one in the series after ‘Native Bapa’ and ‘Funeral of Native Son’. Music director Govind Vasantha, playback singer Chinmayi Sripada and rappers Arivu, Vedan and Harris Saleem will be coming together for this new music video.

Announcing the same, Mushin Parari wrote in his social media handle,

Coming together is the need of the hour!

While Govind Vasantha and Chinmayi are established names, it is the coming together of independent artists like Arivu, Vedan and Harris that heightens the expectations. Arivu became popular recently after the sensational success of ‘Enjoy Enjaami’. Malayalam rapper Vedan is known for his works like ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ and Harris is also a rapper part of the alternative hip-hop group, Street Academics.

Confirmed: Maharshi director Vamshi Paidipally to helm Thalapathy 66

For the last few weeks, there have been reports about Thalapathy Vijay teaming up with Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally for a bilingual project. The director has now confirmed the same in a recent interview. He revealed that the film would have been officially announced earlier had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic. He also added that more details would be revealed after the lockdown.

Tentatively titled as ‘Thalapathy 66’, this film will be produced by Dil Raju, one of the leading producers in Tollywood. Though some of Vijay’s films have been dubbed and released in Telugu earlier, this will be his first ever bilingual. It is seen as a smart move to maximize his popularity among the Telugu-speaking audience.

Director Vamshi Paidipally is known for his films like ‘Munna’, ‘Brindavanam’, ‘Yevadu’ and ‘Oopiri’, which is also a bilingual (‘Thozha’ in Tamil). His last film ‘Maharshi’ starring Mahesh Babu was a big commercial hit. It even went on to win the National award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Joju George is starring in a new film titled ‘Peace’. Debutant Sanfeer K is directing the film, title poster of which got launched last day. Apart from Malayalam, the film is also set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Top stars like Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi and Rakshit Shetty shared the poster through their social media handles.

‘Peace’ is scripted by director Sanfeer and Ramesh Girija. Along with Joju, the cast also includes Aditi Ravi, Remya Nambeesan, Siddique, Shalu Rahim, Asha Sarath, Vijilesh, Mammukoya, Arjun Singh, Pauly Valsan and many others.

Shameer Gibran is cranking the camera and Noufal Abdullah is handling the edits. Jubair Muhammed is the music director. The film is produced jointly by Joju George along with Thayarapan. The film had gone on floors in November. It was shot across Thodupuzha, Ernakulam and Kottayam in a 75-day long schedule. Post-production works are currently underway and release plans are expected to be announced soon.

We were among the first to report about Jakes Bejoy scoring music for the fifth part of the popular CBI franchise. Last day, the composer confirmed the same through his Facebook page. In a brief note, he has shared about his excitement on being part of the project. He considers his greatest honor to work on the most iconic theme music ever in Malayalam, which was composed originally by Shyam.

Jakes is one of the top composers in Malayalam today. It is his first ever film with Mammootty and he is highly excited about it. In his Facebook post, he has written,

It is my greatest honor to work on the most iconic theme music ever in Malayalam from Shyam Sir. Impatiently waiting to start working on the next part of the illustrious CBI Series under K Madhu Sir, @SNswami sir along with the prestigious Swargachitra banner. ‘CBI 5’ marks the reunion of the trio of Mammootty, script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu. Swargachitra Appachan is producing the film. The makers are planning to launch the film in August, on the auspicious day of Chingam 1. Asha Sarath, Soubin Shahir, Mukesh, Sai Kumar and Renji Panicker are also part of the cast.

‘Mission C’ is an upcoming Malayalam thriller starring ‘Angamaly Diaries’ fame Sarath Appani, Meenakshi Dinesh,Major Ravi and Kailash in prominent roles. Its trailer got released online last day. Prithviraj Sukumaran shared the trailer through his official Facebook page and wished the team members luck.

Vinod Guruvayoor, who has previously directed ‘ Sakala Kalasala’ and ‘Shikamani’, is helming ‘Mission C’. He has also scripted the Prithviraj starrer ‘Hero’. From the trailer, his new film looks like a race-against-time thriller. It is presumed that the story is about a tourist bus getting hijacked and the police force’s efforts to rescue the passengers with the help of commandos.

‘Mission C’ is produced by Mulla Shaji. The film has cinematography by Sushanth Sreeni, edits by Riyas K Badhar and background score handled by 4 Musics. Songs are composed by Hony and Parthasarathy. The cast also includes Jayakrishnan, Balaji Salman, Guinnes Vinod, Hrishi, Aryan Shaji, Noby Binu, Meenakshi Mahesh etc.

‘Kudukku 2025’ stars Krishna Sankar, Durga Krishna, Swasika, Shine Tom Chacko, Raghunadh Paleri and Aju Varghese in prominent roles. The film is a futuristic thriller, that is set in the post-pandemic world. As per the director Bilahari, the film starts off as a regular entertainer and develops into a mystery, action-thriller. He has also produced the film along with lead actor Krisha Sankar and Deepthi Ram.

Debuatnt Abhimanue Viswanath is the cinematographer and Kiran Das is editing the film. Songs are composed by Bhoomee and Manikandan Ayappa while Mujeeb Majeed handles the background score.
