Kuruthi teaser release date announced

Prithviraj is teaming up with debutant director Manu Warrier for a new film titled ‘Kuruthi’. Then film was shot in quick time last December and it is now gearing up for release. The makers have announced that its teaser will be out on April 3rd at 6 PM.

Kuruthi’ scripted by Anish Pallyal is said to be an action-thriller. Prithviraj, who is also producing the film under his own banner, had earlier written that he is proud about how the film got made in quick time without compromising on any quality. According to him, it is the fastest film he has shot for in his entire career.

‘Kurup’ has an elaborate cast comprising of Murali Gopy, Roshan Mathew, Shine Tom Chacko, Srindaa, Mamukkoya, Manikandan R Achari, Navas Vallikkunnu, ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen and ‘Thatteem Mutteem’ fame Sagar Surya.

On the technical front, ‘Amen’ fame Abhinandan Ramanujam is the cinematographer and music is by Jakes Bejoy. Akhilesh Mohan is the editor. Supriya Menon is producing the film under the banner of Prithviraj Productions.

Nayattu censored with an U/A certificate

It was recently announced that ‘Nayattu’ will be hitting screens on April 8. With just a week left for release, the final hurdle has been cleared as the film got censored with a U/A certificate. Directed by Martin Prakkat, the film stars Joju George, Kunchacko Boban and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles.

‘Nayattu is scripted by ‘Joseph’ fame Shahi Kabir. From the trailer, we could make out that is a cop-thriller with all the three lead actors playing cops. The film has high expectations as the general talk about it within the industry has been highly positive. Director Martin Prakkat is also making a comeback six years after the sensational success of ‘Charlie’; so there is further hype about the film.

Shyju Khalid is handling the cinematography and Mahesh Narayanan is editing the film. Vishnu Vijay of ‘Guppy’ and ‘Ambili’ fame is composing the music. Martin Prakkat is jointly producing the film in association with director Ranjith and PM Sasidharan’s banner Gold Coin Motion Pictures.

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019. Congratulatory messages and wishes are already pouring in on social medias. Jury members comprising of Mohanlal, Asha Bhosle, Shankar Mahadevan, Subhash Ghai and Biswajeet Chatterjee selected Rajinikanth for the award, which is India’s highest film honour.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar took to his Twitter handle to make the official announcement. He has tweeted,

Rajinikanth, aged 70, is the 12th South Indian to get this award. Previously, legends like filmmaker K Balachander, Sivaji Ganesan, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Dr Rajkumar, Akkineni Nageshwar Rao have been honoured with the prestigious award. Amitabh Bachchan was the last recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke award for the year 2018.

Dulquer Salmaan eyes a strong comeback with Kurup and Salute

It has been a while since Dulquer Salmaan has done a proper ‘mass’ film in Malayalam. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the star rocking the screen with his charm and charisma. Much to their delight, Dulquer is now coming up with two back to back promising projects. First to hit screens will be ‘Kurup’ — unarguably one of the most hyped Malayalam films of the year.

Directed by Srinath Rajendran, ‘Kurup’ is based on the story of Sukumara Kurup, India’s most wanted fugitive. Dulquer plays the titular role in the film, which includes a star-studded cast. Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Sunny Wayne, Sobhita Dhulipala and Shine Tom Chacko will be seen essaying other major roles. ‘Kurup’ is planned as a pan-Indian release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. The film’s teaser was released recently and it got extraordinary response online.

Second in the pipeline is ‘Salute’, an investigative thriller in which Dulquer plays the role of a police sub-Inspector. It is his first outing in a full fledged cop role and naturally, expectations are high. Rosshan Andrrews is directing the film and it is scripted by Bobby-Sanjay. Bollywood actress Diana Penty of ‘Cocktail’ fame plays the female lead. Manoj K Jayan, Saniya Iyappan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Alencier Ley Lopez, Binu Pappu and Vijay Kumar are essaying other prominent roles. Popular Tamil music director Santhosh Narayanan has been roped to score for this film.

Dulquer Salmaan as well as his fans have pinned high hopes on both the films. The star himself is producing the two films under his own banner Wayfarer Films.

Trailer of Madhavan’s Rocketry – The Nambi Effect to be out tomorrow

Actor R Madhavan is turning a director with the biopic of famous scientist Nambi Narayanan. The film titled as ‘Rocketry – The Nambi Effect’ also has him playing the lead role. It is being planned as a multilingual release in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, English, Kannada and Telugu. The film’s trailer will be out tomorrow (April 1) at 5 PM in all six languages.

‘Rocketry’ is based on Nambi Narayanan’s own book ‘Ready to fire: How India and I survived the ISRO spy case’, which details about the controversial case against him and his infamous arrest. Nambi Narayanan was a cryogenic division head at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). In 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested. The charges against him were later squashed by the CBI and the Supreme Court declared him not guilty.

‘Rocketry’ is said to be one of the most challenging films in Madhavan’s career. Since the story traverses different timelines, the actor was very particular about his looks. He had gone through various physical transformations for the film by putting on weight and later reducing it. He even grew long beard and hair to look strikingly similarly to the aged Nambi Narayanan.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh and Tamil star Suriya are said to be essaying cameo roles in the film. SRK will be seen in the role of a journalist who takes the audience through the protagonist’s journey in flashback. If reports are to be believed, the same character is reprised by Suriya in the Tamil version.

Vijay’s next film, which has been tentatively titled as Thalapathy ’65’, got launched today in Chennai with a customary pooja ceremony. Nelson Dilipkumar of ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ fame is directing the film. Vijay, Nelson and other crew members attended the event. A notable presence at the function was Malayali actress Aparna Das. Just a while back, she took to her Instagram handle to confirm that she is indeed a part of the film.

Aparna is noted for her roles in the Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Njan Prakashan’ and ‘Manoharam’. Her performance in the latter had also grabbed attention. While Pooja Hegde of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo’ fame has been signed as the female lead in ‘Thalapathy 65’, Aparna is also expected to play an important role.

‘Thalapathy 65’ produced by Sun Pictures is planned as a pan-Indian project. It is touted to be a big-budget action thriller in which Vijay plays a con-agent. Major portions has been planned to be shot abroad. The team is planning to go on floors from the first week of May with a song shoot. The film has Anirudh Ravichander as the music director and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.

Thalapathy 65: Vijay’s next with Nelson Dilipkumar launched

Vijay’s next film, which has been tentatively titled as Thalapathy ’65’, has been launched today with a customary pooja ceremony. Nelson Dilipkumar of ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ fame is directing the film. Vijay, Nelson and other crew members attended the brief event held in Chennai. It has been learnt that shoot will begin from the first week of May. The team is likely to begin works with a song shoot and rehearsals for the same will commence from April 24.

As Dhanush’s ‘Karnan’ gets ready to hit screens on April 9, a new single has been released online as part of promotions. The song titled ‘Uttradheenga Yeppov’ is sung by Dhee and composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Since it comes immediately after the sensational success of ‘Enjoy Enjaami’, music lovers are thrilled. The makers of ‘Karnan’ have so far released 3 songs — ‘Kanda Vara Sollunga’, ‘Thattan Thattan’, ‘Pandarathi Puranam’ — and all of them have been well received.

‘Karnan’ directed by Mari Selvaraj is set for release amidst huge expectations. Dhanush plays the titular role in this rural-based drama that is partly inspired from real life incidents. From the promos released so far, the film promises to be an intense and hard-hitting one.

‘Karnan’ has Malayali actress Rajisha Vijayan paired with Dhanush. Dulquer Salmaan announces Salute teaser release date

Dulquer Salmaan has announced that the teaser of his new film ‘Salute’ will be out on April 4 at 6 PM. A new poster featuring the star in stylish look has also been shared by the makers. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, it is a cop thriller in which Dulquer plays the role of sub-Inspector Aravind Karunakaran.
This is the first time he is playing a full fledged police role in his career; so expectations are on the higher side.

Bobby and Sanjay are scripting then film. The writer duo’s previous cop film with director Rosshan Andrrews, ‘Mumbai Police’, is considered as one of the best thrillers made in Malayalam cinema till date. Cinephiles are eagerly looking forward to see if they can better themselves with ‘Salute’.

Anugraheethan Antony trailer: Sunny Wayne starrer promises to be a fun rom-com

Sunny Wayne’s long delayed film ‘Anugraheethan Antony’ is finally hitting screens this Friday (April 1). Prior to the release, the makers shared the trailer online. From the trailer, the film looks like a fun-filled rom com entertainer. Sunny and ’96’ fame Gouri Kishan play the two leads. Two golden retriever dogs are also an important part of the narrative.

‘Anugraheethan Antony’ is directed by debutant Prince Joy and scripted by Naveen T Manilal. Jishnu R Nair and Aswin Prakash have penned the story. The film has a big supporting cast comprising of actors like Siddique, Indrans, Jaffer Idukki, Manikandan Achari, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Baiju and Muthumani. From the trailer, we also get to see a glimpses of a crucial guest appearance but the actor’s face is not revealed.

On the technical front, Selvakumar is the cinematographer and Arjun Ben does the film’s editing. Music department is handled by Arun Muraleedharan. M Shijith is producing the film under the banner of Lekhsya Entertainments.
