Kochi Mayor Anil Kumar meets and greets Mammootty at his residence

Kochi city Mayor Anil Kumar met and greeted actor Mammootty last day at his residence. He was accompanied by CD Bindu Peethambaran, ward Councillor of Mammootty’s area. Actor, filmmaker Sohan Seenulal was also present for the meeting. Anil Kumar said that they had a very healthy discussions regarding several topics including arts, politics, cinema and history. Photos of their visit have been shared in social medias.

Mammootty in a white kurta and bearded look instantly reminds one of KJ Yesudas. The actor stayed indoors all through the lockdown days. It was only in December first week that he stepped outside his home comfort. During his 275-day long stay at home, Mammootty had grown his hair long. He is expected to retain this stunning new bearded look for any of his upcoming films.

After the success of last year’s ‘Thamaasha’, director Ashraf Hamza is next helming a new film titled ‘Bheemante Vazhi’. Kunchacko Boban, Thamaasha’ fame Chinnu Chandni and Chemban Vinod Jose will be seen in major roles in the film. Chemban is also scripting the film. It is his second outing as a scenarist after the widely acclaimed ‘Angamaly Diaries

‘Bheemante Vazhi’ has Girish Gangadharan as the cinematographer and ‘Ambili’ fame Vishnu Vijayan as the music director. Muhsin Parari is penning the song lyrics. The film is jointly produced by Chemboski Motion Pictures, headed by Lijo Jose Pellissery Chemban Vinod Jose, and OPM Cinemas, headed by Aashiq Abu-Rima Kallingal duo.

Announcing the project through his social media handle, Kunchacko Boban wrote,

The makers are yet to reveal any details regarding the film’s genre. Shoot kick-started last day in Kuttippuram, Malappuram with a customary switch on ceremony.

Hey Sinamika starring Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal wrapped up!

Shoot for dance choreographer Brinda’s directorial debut ‘Hey Sinamika’ has successfully been wrapped up. Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal play the lead roles in the film, which is touted to be a rom-com entertainer. Though the film went on floors in March this year, the team had to endure a 7-month long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The major attraction of ‘Hey Sinamika’ is its star cast. It is the first time Dulquer Salmaan, Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari are acting together and it will be interesting to see their on-screen rapport. Lyricist Madhan Karky has scripted the film. He has earlier penned dialogues for biggies like ‘Enthiran’, ‘2.0’ and the ‘Baahubali’ films.

On the technical front, ‘Hey Sinamika’ has music composed by Govind Vasantha of ’96’ fame. Cinematography is handled by Preetha Jayaraman. Jio Studios is producing the film, which is also their maiden production venture in Tamil.

This year’s Kerala State Award winning actress Kani Kusruti and Tovino Thomas are all set to team up for a new film. The two will be seen playing the lead roles in acclaimed filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s next. This is Kani Kusruti’s next major project after winning the State award for her perfomance in ‘Biriyani’. Sudev Nair will also be seen in an important role in this upcoming film. Perumbavoor and Ranni are the major locations. More details regarding the project are still awaited.

Tovino Thomas meanwhile has multiple projects coming up. He recently wrapped up shooting for ‘Kaanekaane’ directed by Manu Ashokan of ‘Uyare’ fame. He is expected to resume shooting for his much-hyped superhero film ‘Minnal Murali’ soon. ‘Kala’, an untitled film with debutant director Darwin Kuriakose, ‘Naradhan’, ‘Ajayante Randaam Moshanam’, ‘Kala’, ‘Pallichattambi’, ‘Bhoomi’, ‘Karachi 81’ and ‘563 St Charles Street’ are some of his other announced projects.

Thamaasha director Ashraf Hamza’s next with Kunchacko Boban begins!

After the success of ‘Thamaasha’, director Ashraf Hamza is next helming a film starring Kunchacko Boban. It is produced jointly by Chemboski Motion Pictures, headed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, Chemban Vinod Jose, and OPM Cinemas, headed by Aashiq Abu-Rima Kallingal duo. Shoot for the film kick-started today in Kuttippuram, Malappuram.

Chemban Vinod Jose is scripting the film. It is his second outing as a scenarist after the widely acclaimed ‘Angamaly Diaries’. Vincy Aloshious, who started off with the reality show ‘Nayika Nayakan’ and later made an impressive debut with ‘Vikruthi’, play the female lead. Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer. The makers are yet to reveal any other details regarding the film.

Kunchacko Boban has a slew of other projects lined up. He has already completed shooting for Martin Prakkatt’s ‘Naayattu’, Jis Joy’s ‘Mohan Kumar Fans’ editor-turned-filmmaker Appu Bhattathiri’s directorial debut ‘Nizhal’ and ‘ID’ fame Kamal KM’s multi-starrer ‘Pada’. ‘Ezra’ director Jay K’s ‘Grrr’, ‘Guppy’ director John Paul George’s ‘Mariam Tailors’ and ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ sequel are his other upcoming projects.

Anu Sithara to make her Tamil debut with Vanam

Malayalam actress Anu Sithara is all set to make her Tamil debut. Her maiden Tamil film has been titled as ‘Vanam’. Actor Vetri, who has been part of critically acclaimed films like ‘8 Thottakal’ and ‘Jiivi’, plays the main lead in it. Anu Sithara is popular for her roles in films like ‘Ramante Edanthottam’, ‘Oru Kuttanadan Blog’ and ‘Captain’. She will be next seen in the titular role in debutant Shaan Thulaseedharan’s ‘Anuradha Crime No.59/2019’, also starring Indrajith Sukumaran.

Meanwhile, the first look poster of ‘Vanam’ has been released online. ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi shared the poster through his official Twitter handle. The film is directed by Srikantan Anand and produced by Golden Star Productions, the film. Vela Ramamoorthy and Smruthi Venkat will also be seen in important roles. The first look poster stars Vetri, Anu Sithara and Vela Ramamoorthy.

The film has music by Ron Ethan Yohann of ‘Maya’ and ‘Game Over’ fame. Cinematography is by Vikram Mohan and edits are being handled by Prakash Mabbu.

Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan to star in Vikram Vedha Hindi remake

As per trustworthy reports, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan will be starring in the Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil superhit film ‘Vikram Vedha’. Though actors like Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were rumoured to be part of the film, it has now been confirmed that Hrithik and Saif will be playing the leads. The husband and wife duo of Gayathri and Pushkar, who directed ‘Vikram Vedha’, will be helming the remake as well.

The original version had R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi as the central characters. While Madhavan played a forthright cop’s role, Vijay Sethupathi essayed the part of a grey-shaded gangster. In the Hindi version, Hrithik will play the gangster role while Saif essays the cop’s part.

Announcing the Bollywood remake, trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted,

“#VikramVedha Hindi casting.. @iHrithik to do @VijaySethuOffl role.. #SaifAliKhan to do @ActorMadhavan role..Fantastic casting.”

The Hindi version of ‘Vikram Vedha’ is produced by popular filmmaker Neeraj Pandey. The film is expected to go on floors soon.

Jagame Thandhiram teaser to be out on New Year’s Day

The makers of Dhanush’s highly anticipated film ‘Jaga Thandhiram’ have announced that its teaser will be out on New Year’s Day. The film is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Expectations are high as the actor-director duo are teaming up for the first time. It is a gangster flick, major portions of which are set in the UK. Dhanush will be appearing in two different looks in the film, one as a Madurai based gangster and the other set in London.

Aishwarya Lekshmi and ‘Game Over’ fame Sanchana Natarajan will be seen as the two female leads in the film. While Aishwarya Lekshmi shot for the London portions, Sanchana Natarajan was part of the Tamil Nadu schedule. Hollywood actor James Cosmo, who has starred in films like ‘Braveheart’, ‘Troy’ and the popular TV series ‘Game of Thrones’, is also essaying a crucial role in the film. Malayali actor Joju George and ‘Madras’ fame Kalaiyarasan are also part of the supporting cast.

The makers have so far released two songs composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Both ‘Rakita Rakita’ and ‘Bujji’ have received tremendous reception from the masses.

Vijay’s much anticipated film ‘Master’ is getting ready for theatrical release in January during the Pongal season. The film was recently censored with a U/A certificate. The makers are also planning a pan-India release with the Telugu and Hindi versions getting ready. Last day, the first look poster of ‘Master’ Hindi dubbed version was released online. It will be released by B4U Motion Pictures. Hindi dubbing works have already been completed and it will be censored next week. As per plans, all three versions of the film will be released in January.

‘Master’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi as the leads. While Vijay plays an alcoholic college professor, Vijay Sethupathi essays the antagonist’s role of a gangster. Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Mahendran, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Gouri Kishan and many others are part of the supporting cast.

‘Master’ has huge expectations among the masses. It was supposed to hit screens in April itself but due to the pandemic, the makers had to postponed. Tamil film industry insiders and theatre owners have pinned high hopes on the film as its release is expected to be a big booster for the industry commercially.

Anu Sithara, Aju Varghese, Aneesh G Menon and Hareesh Kanaran will be seen playing the lead roles in a new film titled ‘Momo in Dubai’. The film was officially announced on Christmas Day through actor Prithviraj’s social media handle. Debutant Ameen Aslam will be directing the film. ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ director Zakariya is co-scripting the film with Ashif Kakkodi. Zakariya is also producing the film along with PB Anish and Harris Desom.

‘Momo in Dubai’ is said to be a family dama. ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ fame Jimshi Khalid is the cinematographer and Ratheesh Raj has been assigned as the editor. Music department will be handled by Jassie Gift and Gafoor M Khayyam. ‘KL 10 Pathu’ director Muhsin Parari will be penning the song lyrics in the film.

Sound designers Vicky and Kishan, costume designer Irshad Cherukunnu, makeup artist Hakkim Kabeer and production designer Gokul Das are also part of the technical team. The film will be presented under the banners of Imagin Cinemas and Cross Border Camera.
