Nithy Menen is known to be a multi-talented artiste. She is one of those very few artistes who is fluent with multiple languages. After having made a mark in all four South Indian languages, the actress had recently made her debut in Bollywood and digital space as well. Besides her acting prowess, not much is talked about her singing skills. Nithya owns a mellifluous voice and has sung under composers like AR Rahman, S Thaman, Govind Vasantha, Jassie Gift etc.

A video of Nithya singing the evergreen song ‘En Kaadhale’ from the Tamil film ‘Duet’ has just been shared online. It is from the sets of her upcoming Malayalam film ’19 (1)(a)’. Director Indu VS has shared the video in her Instagram handle. Nithya is seen rendering the track beautifully getting all the emotions right. Originally sung by the late SPB, it is hugely popular track that holds a classic status even after over two decades of its release.

’19 (1)(a)’ went on floors earlier this month. The film also stars Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi and Indrajith Sukumaran in major roles. Shoot is currently progressing at a brisk pace despite the pandemic threat.

Arjun is married to Niveditha, a former actress who has appeared in a few Kannada films. She is the daughter of Kannada actor Rajesh. Arjun-Niveditha couple has two daughters, Aishwarya and Anjana. The former made her acting debut in 2013 with the Tamil film ‘Pattathu Yaanai’ that had her paired opposite Vishal. She later acted under her father’s direction in ‘Prema Baraha’, a Kannada rom-com entertainer. The film was also simultaneously released in Tamil as ‘Sollividava’.

Dulquer Salmaan’s cop film with Rosshan Andrrews titled as Salute?

As reported earlier, Dulquer Salmaan is teaming up with director Rosshan Andrrews for a cop film. Bobby-Sanjay is scripting the film, which is gearing up to go on floors early next year. Reports suggest that the film has been titled as ‘Salute’. However, the makers are yet to announce it officially.

This is first time Dulquer Salmaan is playing a full-fledged police officer’s role. So expectations are high among the fans. Moreover, Roshan Andrrews-Bobby Sanjay combo’s last cop film ‘Mumbai Police’ was a big hit that broke multiple stereotypes. Similarly, this upcoming film with Dulquer is also expected to be different from the usual cop flicks.

The star has pinned high hopes on this new film. In a recent interview, he assured that the film has a brilliant script and that he is eagerly looking forward to start shooting for it. His own production house Wayfarer Films is producing the film.

The sensational hit song ‘Rowdy Baby’ from ‘Maari 2’ has surpassed the 1 billion views in YouTube. It is a new benchmark as this is the first ever South Indian film song to touch the magical 1 billion mark. Actor Dhanush, who has also penned the song lyrics, took to his social media handle to share his excitement in creating history. Interestingly, today is also the 9th anniversary of the star’s viral hit ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ got released in YouTube.

Dhanush has written,

‘Rowdy Baby’ composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and sung by Dhanush and Dhee. Prabhu Deva choreographed the song with Dhanush and Sai Pallavi setting the floor on fire with their dazzling moves. The song was an instant hit as kids and youngsters lapped it up. It was a rage in social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok as hundreds of users shared their version of dancing to the beats of ‘Rowdy Baby’.

Neha Saxena, the North Indian actor, who has done notable roles in films like ‘Kasaba’ and ‘Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol’, will be next seen in Mohanlal’s new film with director B Unnikrishnan. It is her second film with the superstar and the actress is all excited about it. She will be seen playing an auditor’s role in the film. The role was offered on her birthday and she considers it her best gift ever.

Neha has fond memories of working with Mohanlal in ‘Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol’. In a recent interview to TOI, she has opened up about how the veteran would help her by explaining the scenes and some important tips about acting.

B Unnikrishnan-Mohanlal is gearing up to go on floors by the end of this month. Said to be titled as ‘Aarattu’, the film is scripted by Udhayakrishna. Mohanlal will be seen playing a larger-than-life character named Neyyattinkara Gopan in it. The film is basically a mass-masala entertainer set in a rural backdrop. Shraddha Srinath of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame has been signed as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Sai Kumar, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans Vijayaraghavan, Swasika, Rachana Narayanankutty and Sheela.

First look poster of Keerthy Suresh-Selvaraghavan starrer Saani Kaayidham out!

As reported by us earlier, Keerthy Suresh and director Selvaraghavan will be acting together in a new film titled ‘Saani Kaayidham’. A first look poster featuring the two actors has been released online. Both of them look rugged in the poster with bloodstains splashed over them. The film marks the acting debut of Selvaraghavan, a proven filmmaker who has a huge fan base among Tamil cinephiles. It will be very interesting to see how Selva, who is known to bring out the best in his actors, gets the nuances right as a perfomer on screen.

Dhanush shared the first look poster through his official social media handle. The star, who has always credited his brother Selvaraghavan for helping him learn the craft of acting, tweeted,

“Let the world witness your acting prowess like I did.”

‘Saani Kaayidham’ is directed by Arun Matheswaran, whose debut film ‘Rocky’ is still awaiting release. The film has cinematography by ‘Sillu Karuppatti’ fame Yamini Yagnamurthy, art direction by Ramu Thangaraj and editing by Nagooran. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director.

Screen Scene Studios is producing the film. Details regarding the genre or when shoot begins are not yet known.

Mammootty and Tovino set to act together for the first time!

Speculations are rife that Mammootty and Tovino Thomas are set to share screen space for the first time ever. As per reports, debutante Ratheena Sharshad will be directing this film. It is scripted by the trio of Harshad, Suhas and Sharfu. Harshad had previously scripted ‘Unda’, also starring Mammootty. The other two scribes, Suhas and Sharafu have worked with Tovino in ‘Virus’.

Interestingly, director Basil Joseph had earlier announced a project with Mammootty and Tovino as the central characters. Unni R was supposed to script the film. However, due to some unknown reasons, it never took off. We will have to wait and see if Ratheena has finally managed to bring the two stars together.

Ratheen was previously the executive producer of ‘Uyare’. For her directorial debut, she has assembled a strong technical crew comprising of DOP Girish Gangadharan, music director Jakes Bejoy, editor Deepu Joseph, art director Manu Jagath and costume designer Sameera Saneesh. George Sebastian, Shyam Mohan and Arjun Ravindran will be jointly producing the film.

Karthi-Rashmika starrer Sultan first look poster released

Last day, on the festive occasion of Diwali, the first look poster of Karthi’s new film ‘Sultan’ got released online. The film is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of ‘Remo’ fame. Rashmika Mandanna, one of South Indian cinema’s most popular heroines today, is making her Tamil debut with this film. It is being produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

As per the makers, ‘Sultan’ is an action oriented family drama with a good dose of romance in it. Comedy actor Yogi Babu and Mansoor Ali Khan will also be seen playing crucial roles. Vivek-Merwin duo is composing the music and Ruben is handling the edits. Sathyan Sooryan is the cinematographer. More details are likely to be announced officially soon. The makers are eyeing for a theatrical release early next year.

He is also part of the Mani Ratnam biggie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. A sequel to the star’s blockbuster action film ‘Kaithi’ is also in the offing.

Joseph Tamil remake: Check out the new poster of Visithiran

Malayalam actor Joju George’s hit film ‘Joseph’ is getting remade in Tamil. M Padmakumar, who directed the original film in Malayalam, is helming the Tamil version as well. Producer-turned-actor RK Suresh is reprising the lead role played by Joju. Shamna Kasim aka Poorna and Madhu Shalini will be seen as the female leads. The Tamil remake has been titled as ‘Visitharan’ and its new poster has been released online. RK Suresh and Shamna feature in the poster.

‘Joseph’ is about the story of a retired policeman who unravels the mystery behind his ex-wife’s strange death. Joju George’s performance in the film was widely praised and won him numerous accolades including the Kerala State award for Best Character Actor and a Special Jury Mention at the National level. So RK Suresh has a big challenge ahead of him to live up to Joju’s brilliant portrayal.

Amidst massive expectations, the teaser of Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Master’ dropped in last day. Apart from the usual online release, the teaser was screened in theatres across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj enjoyed the big screen experience with hundreds of fans. Due to the pandemic situation, theatres can only be half-full but fans still made the best of it. After the screening, Lokesh requested everyone to continue maintain social distancing. He also requested them to be a bit more patient and assured that the film will be out soon.

Meanwhile, ‘Master’ teaser has broken multiple records. It is already the fastest to reach 10 million views in YouTube. Fans had pinned massive expectations and the teaser has lived up to that. Vijay’s uber-cool look and killer attitude along with the menacing Vijay Sethupathi is the highlights of the teaser.

‘Master’ was originally scheduled to hit screens in April but release had to be postponed due to the pandemic-induced lockdown. The makers are eyeing to release during the Pongal season in January.
