One team release new teaser on Mammootty’s birthday

On the occasion of Mammootty’s 69th birthday, the makers of his upcoming film ‘One’ have released a new teaser online. The veteran star looks majestic and charismatic as ever in the short teaser. As reported earlier, he plays the role of Kerala Chief Minister named Kadakkal Chandran.

‘One’ is a political drama scripted by Bobby-Sanjay. Santhosh Viswanath of ‘Chirakodinja Kinavukal’ fame is directing the film. The film has a bunch of talented supporting actors in the cast. Murali Gopy and Joju George will be seen in prominent roles as the opposition leader and party secretary, respectively.

Nimisha Sajayan, Ranjith, Mathew Thomas, Gayathri Arun, Balachandra Menon, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Salim Kumar, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Mamukoya, Balaji Sharma and many others are part of the cast. Vaidy Somasundaram is the cinematographer and music department is handled by Gopi Sunder.

The film’s shoot has not yet been completed. An important sequence involving Mammootty amidst a huge crowd still remains to be shot. As soon as the restrictions over film shootings are relaxed, the makers will be wrapping up the remaining portions. They are eyeing a theatrical release.

Karthi to play a dual role in PS Mithran’s action film!

Karthi will be seen essaying a dual role in director PS Mithran’s new film. According to trustworthy reports, it is an action packed entertainer that will be produced by Prince Pictures. It is worth a mention that PS Mithran’s previous two films – ‘Hero’ and ‘Irumbuthirai’ were also commercial entertainers that had high dose of action in it. It will be interesting to see how the director makes use of Karthi. The star has previously done double roles in films like ‘Siruthai’ and ‘Kaashmora’.

For his new film, director Mithran has once again retained George C Williams as the DOP. GV Prakash will be handling the music department. Details regarding the supporting cast and when shoot begins are not yet known.

Karthi meanwhile has ‘Sultan’ getting ready. The film is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannnan of ‘Remo’ fame. South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna is making her Tamil debut with this film. Almost 90% of shoot is over and it is expected to be Karthi’s next release. The star also has the Mani Ratnam biggie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ in the pipeline.

Love Action Drama team all set to reunite!

Last day, on the first anniversary of the release of ‘Love Action Drama’, Aju Varghese announced that the same combo is coming together once again. Dhyan Sreenivasan will be directing the new film and it will be produced by Aju and Vishak Subramaniam under the banner of Fantastic Films.

‘Love Action Drama’ that marked Dhyan’s directorial debut had hit screens during last Onam. The Nivin Pauly-Nayanthara starrer was panned by the critics but it still managed to emerge as a box office hit. Buzz is that Nivin will be playing the lead in the new film as well, but a confirmation is still awaited.

Besides directing, Dhyan also has a slew of acting commitments lined up. ‘Higuita’, ‘Adukkala: The Manifesto’ and ‘Kadavul Sakayam Nadanasabha’ are some of his projects in the making. He is also scripting a comedy entertainer titled ‘Pathira Kurbana’. The film has him, Aju Varghese and Neeraj Madhav in the lead roles.

Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi is celebrating her birthday today. On this special occasion, the makers of her upcoming films ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ and ‘Bismi Special’ have released new posters online. Apart from that, her new film ‘Archana 31 Not Out’ also got announced officially. So it was indeed a special birthday for the actress.

‘Bismi Special’ will have Aishwarya reuniting with her ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’ co-star Nivin Pauly. The film will be directed by newcomer Rajesh Ravi and Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters is producing it. ‘Archana 31 Not Out’ is Aishwarya’s first film as a solo-lead. Debutant Akhil Anilkumar is directing the film and it is produced by filmmaker Martin Prakkat, Siby Chavara and Renjith Nair.

‘Jagame Thandhiram’ marks Aishwarya’s second outing in Tamil. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, it is a gangster-drama with Dhanush in.the lead role. Her portions in the film were shot completely in the UK. Besides these aforementioned projects, she is also part of the Mani Ratnam biggie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.

I really enjoyed working with Pranav and the whole team of Hridhayam: Darshana Rajendran

Darshana Rajendran is currently on a high thanks to the overwhelming response for her latest OTT-release ‘C U Soon’. The Mahesh Narayanan directorial has Darshana playing the lead along with Fahadh Faasil and Roshan Mathew. The actress, who has mostly been doing supporting roles, has got a big break with this film. She has also got a couple of other exciting films coming up, one among which is the Pranav Mohanlal-starrer ‘Hridhayam’.

Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, the film is shaping up as a youthful entertainer. Pranav, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana play the three leads. The story is about a group of individuals and their life journey. In a recent interview to FC, Darshana said that she had a great time shooting for the film. She is said to be playing a fun and joyous college student’s role, something that she hasn’t done so far. She is quoted saying,

“It almost felt like college all over again and also, Vineeth ettan is an absolute delight to work with. He made me do things I never imagined myself doing. He saw me clearly in that space and his faith in me was enough for me to be very comfortable doing that. I really enjoyed working with him, Pranav and the whole bunch of artistes. It was fun and I am really looking forward to getting back to shoot”.

Darshana is also part of Rajeev Ravi’s ‘Thuramukham’ and Aashiq Abu’s ‘Pennum Cherukkanum’.

Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Roy starts rolling!

Suraj Venjaramoodu’s new film titled ‘Roy’ has gone in floors. It is written and directed by Sunil Ibrahim, who has previously made films like ‘Arikil Oraal’, ‘Chapters’ and ‘Y’. Along with Suraj, the cast also includes Shine Tom Chacko, Sija Rose, Jins Baskar and many others. The team will be shooting following all the safety protocols. 80% of the film will be shot indoors, in Kochi, and the remaining portions will be filmed in a controlled environment.

‘Roy’ comes with the tagline, Realities of Yesterday. The movie is a family-oriented thriller centered around a couple. The titular character Roy essayed by Suraj Venjaramoodu is an introvert, a bit strange and silent and his wife has a different perspective about life. The story revolves around their peculiar relationship and the incidents that take place in their life.

The film has cinematography by Jayesh Mohan of ‘Mayaanadhi’ fame. V Saajan is in charge of the edits and music will be film by Munna PM. Sajeesh Manjeri and Sanoob K Yousef are jointly producing the film.

Director Akhil Anilkumar is a popular name in the Malayalam short film circles. He is noted for helming some hit short films like ‘Avittam – The Good Day of Unnikuttan’, ‘Adi – Fight and Fight Only’, ‘Anch – Gudhagava Jingalaala’, and ‘Devika +2 Biology’. Like his short films, ‘Archana 31 Not Out’ is also expected to be a quirky, fun flick. This is the first time Aishwarya Lekshmi is doing a solo lead film and naturally, expectations will be more on her.

A bunch of new technicians are also being introduced through this film. Cinematography is by Joyal Joji and edits will be handled by Mushin PM. Rajath Prakash and Maathan will be composing the music. Director Akhil, Ajay Vijayan and Vivek Chandran have jointly penned the film’s screenplay.
