Pranav Mohanlal is celebrating his birthday today. As the youngster turns 30, wishes are pouring in on social medias. The best of all wishes has come from none other than his father, Mohanlal. The superstar took to his social media handle to share a photo from Pranav’s childhood and a more recent one. Along with that, he has also written,

The two-film-old Pranav has always preferred to stay away from the limelight and this year is no different. He was acting in the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial ‘Hridhyam’ when the nationwide lockdown was announced. Kalayani Priyadarshan, Pranav’s friend from his childhood days, plays the female lead. The film is about a group of individuals and their life journey. Only 50% of portions have been completed so far. The makers have decided to wait till things get back to normalcy.

Vijay Sethupathi has always had a penchant for trying new things. After making a mark in the mainstream film industry, he is now set to explore the possibilities of web series. In a recent interview, he revealed that he is gearing up to act in a couple of web series. But he did not divulge any other details about these projects.

He is quoted saying, “I’m going to act in two web series. OTT can give a global reach to our content. People here keep the scenes of series from different, unknown languages as their Whatsapp status. The reach is bigger, and it’s a good thing if our art and artists are celebrated all over the world.”

Besides this, Vijay Sethupathi has already acted in an one hour film which also stars his daughter and Regina.️ He is also acting in a short film directed by Bejoy Nambiar of ‘David’ and ‘Solo’ fame. It will start shooting post the lockdown.

After Amitabh Bachchan and Abhisek were tested positive for Covid-19, the latter’s wife Aishwarya Rai and daughter Aaradhya have also been tested positive. The results were confirmed in the second round of test. Jaya Bachchan, daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and her children Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda have been tested negative.

On Saturday evening, it was reported that both Jaya and Aishwarya had undergone Antigen tests in which they were declared coronavirus negative. However, they also underwent swab tests along with Aaradhya and other family members. The results of the same just came out marking Jaya, Shweta, Navya and Agastya safe. More details are awaited in this regard.

Amitabh Bachchan and Abhisek Bachchan have already been shifted to the Nanavati hospital in Mumbai. Last night, they both had taken to their social media pages and confirmed about getting diagnosed with coronavirus.

Bachchan senior tweeted,

T 3590 -I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited ..
All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !

Abhishek followed him by tweeting,

Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. ??

It is being reported that Abhishek had visited a dubbing studio several times over the past week. Amitabh Bachchan, meanwhile, had been staying at home ever since the lockdown was announced in March. But he had recently shot promotional content for the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati and other projects at his home and hence had contact with the production crew who came to his house.

Manjima Mohan plays Vijay Sethupathi’s sister in Tughlaq Durbar

Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as a politician for the first time in his upcoming film ‘Tughlaq Durbar’. Directed by debutant Delhi Prasad Deenadayal, the film is a political satire. Aditi Rao Hydari plays the female lead in the movie. Malayali actress Manjima Mohan is also essaying a crucial character. She will be seen as Vijay Sethupathi’s sister in the film. Their brother-sister chemistry will be interesting to watch out for.

According to the makers, the movie has an out-and-out mass subject. Balaji Tharaneetharan, who has directed films like ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ and ‘Seethakaathi’, has penned the dialogues. Sethupathi plays a character named Singam. The story revolves around the transformation of a betrayer into a good person, and how Singam who distances himself from all things good, gradually changes and transforms into a better person. Veteran actor Parthiepan essays the antagonist’s role.

The film’s technical team has Manoj Paramahamsa as the DOP and Govind Vasantha as the music director. It is being produced jointly by 7 Screen Studio and Viacom 18.

After making a lasting impression with ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ (KN), Grace Antony has been doing some very interesting roles. She will be next seen as the titular character in upcoming film, ‘Simply Soumya’. The film marks the directorial debut of Abilash Kumar, who was one the scenarists of ’22 Female Kottayam’.

Along with Grace, Sreenath Bhasi wil be seen playing the other lead role in the film. Though the two actors were previously part of ‘KN’, they hardly had any combination scenes in it. For the past couple of years, Bhasi has been on a purple patch of sorts with stellar performance in ‘KN’, ‘Virus’, ‘Trance’ and ‘Kappela’.

For the last few months, Grace has been on a strict diet to reduce weight as the character in ‘Simply Soumya’ demanded it. A combination of healthy diet and regular exercises has helped her in shedding around 14 kgs. Meanwhile, the actress had also made her directorial debut recently with a short film titled ‘K-nowledge’.

The 14-minute-long film, which is also scripted by her, is about two girl kids who experience their first menstruation. It has got good reception in YouTube fetching over 1 million views. ‘Halal Love Story’ and ‘Sajan Bakery Since 1961’ are her other upcoming films.

One of the biggest reasons to wait for ‘Master’ is the fact that Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi are sharing screen space for the first time ever. This Lokesh directorial has the two stars pitted against each other. While Vijay plays a college professor named John Durairaj, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as a gangster in the film. His character is named as Bhavani and it is said to be a very interesting role that’s not entirely one-dimensional.

In a recent interview, Vijay Sethupathi revealed about what drew him to the film. Apparently, his character Bhavani is a purely character with a ruthless approach. When Lokesh first narrated the subject, what excited Vijay Sethupathi was the fact that his character won’t have traces of goodness in any point in the screenplay. He has several combination scenes in the film with Vijay and most of it where shot within a jail.

‘Master’ is one of the most awaited South Indian films of the year. It was originally scheduled to hit screens in April but due to the Corona virus outbreak, the makers were forced to push the release plans. Industry insiders hopeful about the film getting a Diwali release in November.

Mani Ratnam to resume shoot of Ponniyin Selvan!

Due to the Corona virus outbreak, many films had to be shelved. Shoot of several big films have been put on hold for the last few months. Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is one among them. It is an ambitious with a plethora of stars from various languages. If recent reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to resume shoot in Pune by September. An official confirmation is still awaited.

The film is originally based on a historical Tamil novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Chola emperor Raja Raja Chola I. The film has a stellar star cast comprising of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Jayaram, Rahman, Lal, Ashwin Kakumanu and many others.

Mani Ratnam’s own banner Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions are collaborating for this mega budget film’s production.

Rahman likely to reprise Vivek Oberoi’s role in Lucifer Telugu remake!

Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi will be starring in the Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lucifer’. His son actor Ram Charan is producing the film and Sujeeth of ‘Saaho’ fame will be directing it. The makers are currently working on the pre-production which includes finalizing the cast. They are planning to start shooting by the end of this year.

It is being reported that Rahman has been approached to play the antagonist in the film. He is likely to reprise the character essayed by Vivek Oberoi in the original. Though the makers had approached Oberoi himself to reprise the character, he was not very keen to play the same part again. In ‘Lucifer’, he played the role of Bobby, a sophisticated and manipulative businessman. Powered by actor Vineeth’s perfect dubbing and measured performance, Oberoi did total justice to his casting. It will be interesting to see how Rahman essays the same role.

Telugu medias are also reporting that Suhasini Mani Ratnam will be reprising the role played by Manju Warrier in ‘Lucifer’. Several other rumours about the cast members are doing the rounds but an official announcement is yet to be made.
