Kamal Haasan watches Asuran; Appreciates Manju Warrier’s performance!

The Vetrimaaran directorial ‘Asuran’ continues to get great response. The film has impressed the critics, commoners as well as the celebs. Recently, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan watched a special screening of the film and he really liked it. After the show, he personally met Manju Warrier at his office in Chennai and heaped praise for her excellent performance in the film. Kamal also called and appreciated Dhanush, who is currently in England shooting for his new film.

‘Asuran’, based on the novel ‘Vekkai’ by Poomani, is intense tale of revenge, caste and class violence. Dhanush plays Sivasami, who appears in two different looks for the younger and older part. As the middle aged Sivasami, the actor has delivered a stunning performance that must be among his finest till date. Manju Warrier essays his wife’s character named ‘Pachaiyamma’. Since her comeback in 2015, this has to be her best performance as she easily gets into the skin of a rural Tamil woman and gets everything perfect, right from the body language to the Nellai slang. It is the performance of its lead actors comprising of Dhanush, Manju, Ken Karunas, TeeJay Arunasalam and Pasupathi, that elevates the film.

‘Asuran’ is already the biggest opener in Dhanush’s career and going by the continuous positive response, the film is certain to have a long run at the box office.
