Laaxmi Bomb: Raghava Lawrence pulls out of Kanchana remake

We had recently reported about Akshay Kumar starring in the remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Kanchana’ aka ‘Muni 2’. The Hindi version has been titled as ‘Laaxmi Bomb’ and its first look poster was released last day. Raghava Lawrence, who directed and starred in the original, was initially announced as the director for the remake version as well. But he has now pulled out of the project. He has posted a note in his social media handle which reads,

“Hi dear friends and fans,

There is an old popular saying in Tamil which tells Don’t step into any house where there is no respect. In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person’s character. So I have decided to step out of the project, Laxmmi Bomb, the Hindi remake of Kanchana. I don’t want to mention the reason because there are multiple reasons, but one of them is that the first look poster of the film was released today without my knowledge and even without discussing anything with me. I was informed about this by a third person. It is very painful for a director to know about his movie’s first look release from others. I feel very disrespected and disappointed. As a creator, I’m also not satisfied with the poster design as well. This shouldn’t happen to any director.”

Indrajith wishes luck for Poornima who makes a comeback after 17 years

Poornima Indrajith has been on a long break from movies for some time now. Ever since getting married to actor Indrajith Sukumaran, Poornima stayed away from cinema. The actress, who is also a busy fashion designer, is now making a comeback to Malayalam after a gap of 17 long years. On her comeback, her first film to hit screens will be the multi-starrer ‘Virus’. Last day, a poster featuring Poornima was released online and Indrajith shared it in his social media handle. He also wished his wife luck on her second innings in cinema.

The Aashiq Abu directorial, which is based on the Nipah outbreak, is one of the most awaited Malayalam films of the year. It has one of the biggest star cast that Malayalam cinema has ever seen. The movie has Poornima in the role of district health secretary. Indrajith is also part of the film, though they both don’t have any combination scenes. His character in the film is inspired from Dr RS Gopakumar, the Kozhikode Corporation health officer who was an integral part during the fight against the Nipah virus.

Apart from ‘Virus’, Poornima is also part of Rajeev Ravi’s ‘Thuramukham’. Indrajith is playing one of the lead roles in the movie but once again the two don’t have any scenes together.
