Arun Vijay is currently on a high with the success of his latest release ‘Thadam’. The movie directed by Magizh Thirumeni has the actor playing a dual role. Taking everyone by surprise, the movie has emerged as a big hit, particularly in Kerala, where the movie got released with minimal hype. While ‘Thadam’ is still doing well in theatres, Arun Vijay has completed shooting his portions for the upcoming biggie ‘Saaho’.

Starring Prabhas in the lead, ‘Saaho’ is an action packed entertainer made in multiple languages. The movie directed by Sujeeth is scheduled for release on August 15. Yesterday, Arun Vijay took to his social media handle to share photos from his last day of shoot. He has also written,

Vivek Oberoi appears in multiple looks in Narendra Modi biopic

As we had reported earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting a biopic made in Bollywood. Vivek Oberoi is playing Modi’s role in the movie titled as ‘PM Narendra Modi’. The movie directed by Omung Kumar is getting ready for release on April 12. Earlier in the day, the makers released a new photo featuring the multiple looks that Vivek Oberoi will be sporting in the movie. He appears in around nine different looks in the movie.

Initially, the Modi biopic was planned with veteran actor Paresh Rawal, but he opted out due to some unknown reasons. The movie now seems like a hastily planned one eyeing the Lok Sabha elections, also scheduled in April.

Director Omung Kumar has earlier helmed two other biopics – Mary Kom and Sarbjit, both of which were critically acclaimed. Sandip SSingh and Suresh Oberoi are producing the Modi biopic and it will be presented by Legend Global Studio.

Lucifer to be released in 3 languages in over 1500 theatres worldwide

We are just 10 days away from the release of one the most awaited Malayalam films in recent years. Mohanlal starrer Lucifer is scheduled to hit screens on March 28. The movie will be having its censor clearance tomorrow following which a grand trailer launch has been planned to be held in Abu Dhabi.

Today, during an interaction session from Facebook office in Hyderabad, producer Antony Perumbavoor revealed that Lucifer will be releasing in 3 languages – Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, in over 1500 theatres worldwide. This is probably one of the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie. It says volumes about the expectation that the movie has among the audience.

Lucifer’s hype is majorly because of the fact that Mohanlal and Prithviraj is coming together for the first time. The latter is making his directorial debut with this movie. The mulit-talented Murali Gopy has scripted it as a political thriller. The movie has Mohanlal in the lead role of Stephen Nedumbally, a big shot politician.

‘Lucifer’ also has some other big names in Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Nyla Usha, Bala, Sachin Khedekar and Fazil among others. Sujith Vaassudev has cranked the camera and music by Deepak Dev. Usha Uthup has rendered a track in the movie.

A grand launch will be held on March 22 in Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi. Mohanlal, Tovino, Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Murali Gopy and Antony Perumbavoor will be attending the event.

Bollywood based production company to bankroll Jeethu Joseph’s next with Karthi and Jyothika

As reported by us recently, Jeethu Joseph’s next film will be in Tamil with Karthi. The director himself has confirmed this in a interview. Jyothika is also said to be playing a prominent role in the movie. It will be her first film with her brother-in-law Karthi. Bollywood based production giant Viacom 18 will be funding the movie. Jyothika’s brother Suraj is also said to be part of the production.

Currently, Jeethu Joseph is working on the script with Rensil D’Silva and Manikandan. The makers are planning to start shooting from April. An official announcement with full details regarding the cast and crew will be made shortly

Karthi will soon start shooting for his new film with ‘Remo’ director Bakkiyaraj Kannan. Touted to be an action cum family drama, the film marks the Tamil debut of South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandanna. Jyothika on the other hand is working on a movie titled ‘Ratchasi’. The movie directed by debutant S.Raj has her playing the role of a government school teacher who strives to improve the quality of education.

Scriptwriter-actor Bibin George has signed his next as a lead actor with director Sreejith Vijayan of ‘Kuttanadan Marapapa’ fame. The movie will have Namitha Pramod paired with Bibin. Debutant Shashankan has scripted the movie which is touted to be a romantic comedy. Surabhi Santhosh, Shanthi Krishna, Siddique, Soumya Menon, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Bindu Panicker and many others are part of the cast. The movie is being produced by Shine Augustine under the banner of Manthra Films. Shoot is scheduled to kick-start from March end with a customary pooja ceremony on March 20.

Bibin George last played a lead actor in ‘Oru Pazhaya Bomb Katha’. The movie directed by Shafi emerged successful at the box office. Bibin will be hoping to continue the hit run. As reported by us recently, veteran director Bhadran is staging a comeback after nearly a decade with a movie titled ‘Joothan’. Joju George, Soubin Shahir and Rima Kallingal have been signed to play the lead roles in the movie. S Suresh Babu, who has penned films like ‘Nadan’, ‘Shikkar’ and ‘Kanal’, is scripting this upcoming movie as well. The makers had recently announced the project by releasing an intriguing motion poster.

‘Joothan’ has Soubin Shahir playing a Jewish character named Eo Eliyavu Kohan. Scriptwriter Suresh Babu firmly believes that it will be one of the best roles that Soubin has essayed so far in his career. Over the last one year or so, Soubin’s career has propelled to a different league with him playing lead roles in acclaimed films like ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ and ‘Kumbalangi Nights’. ‘Sudani’ also won him a Kerala State award for best actor. With an experienced filmmaker like Bhadran at the helm, ‘Joothan’ promises to bring out a different shade of Soubin.

According to the makers, ‘Joothan’ has got mystery, thrill and romance.The movie has cinematography by Lokanadhan S and music by Sushin Shyam. Ruby Films is presenting the movie, shoot for which is scheduled to commence by the end of June.

‘Trance’, the Fahadh Fassil’s starrer directed by Anwar Rasheed has been in the making for nearly two years now. The movie has been shot in multiple schedules across various locations. The team has revealed only very less details about the movie, which includes its genre. Naturally, curiosity has raised among cinephiles. Vincent Vadakkan has scripted the movie.

Reports suggest that Fahadh plays a priest in ‘Trance’. The story travels over different timelines in a priest’s life. It is said to be one of the most challenging roles in the actor’s career. Technically, also the movie will be superior with cinematography handled by Amal Neerad and sound design by Academy award winner Resul Pookkutty.

Interestingly, for a particular action sequence in the movie, the makers are using robotic camera technology. It is probably the first time that such a technique is used in Malayalam. Normally, robotic cameras are used to shoot high octane action sequences in Hollywood movies.

‘Trance’ has a solid cast comprising of Nazriya Nazim, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinayakan, Dileesh Pothan, Arjun Ashokan and Sreenath Bhasi. Debutant Jackson Vijayan is in charge of the music department.

Director Anwar Rasheed himself is funding Trance under his banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainment. It is said to be the most expensive film in Fahadh’s career. If reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to release the movie for Onam this year.
