Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbanda paired with Dulquer Salmaan in Vaan!

We had earlier reported about Dulquer Salmaan signing for a Tamil film titled ‘Vaan’. Debutant Ra Karthik is directing the movie which is touted to be a romantic travelogue. The movie officially kick-started today with a customary pooja ceremony. Along with Dulquer, the movie will also have three female leads. Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbanda have already been roped in. The makers are yet to confirm the third heroine.

‘Vaan’ will mark the debut of Kalyani Priyadarshan in Tamil. Thanks to their celebrity dads, Kalyani and
Dulquer have known each other from childhood. It will be interesting to see their on-screen chemistry. Kriti has acted with Dulquer in the Hindi film, ‘Karwaan’, where she did a cameo appearance.

Vaan, according to the makers, is a feel-good movie that has love, travel, emotions and every aspect of a light-hearted film. Shoot will be commencing this month and the team will be travelling all across the country as the storyline travels from Chennai to Kolkata. The movie’s technical crew includes DOP George C Williams, well known for his splendid works in movies like ‘Theri’, ‘Kaththi’ and ‘Raja Rani’, multiple national award winning editor Sreekar Prasad and composer Dheena Dhayalan.

Selva Kumar J is bankrolling Vaan under the banner of Kenanya Films.

Every year, Forbes India release the list of highest earning celebrities in the country. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has topped the list this time as well. He has become the nation’s highest paid celebrity for the third consecutive year. Through his blockbuster films, several brand endorsements and television projects, Salman has earned a whopping Rs 253.25 crore between October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018.

Following him closely is Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli with Rs 228.09 crore in earnings. The first ten ranks are occupied by Salman Khan (253.25), Virat Kohli (228.09), Akshay Kumar (185), Deepika Padukone (112.?, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (101.77), Aamir Khan (97.5), Amitabh Bachchan (96.17), Ranveer Singh (84.67), Sachin Tendulkar (80) and Ajay Devgn (74.5).

Malayalam superstar Mammootty is the only Keralite in the list with earnings of Rs 18 crores. Other South Indian actors in the list includes Rajinikanth, Pawan Kalyan, Vijay, Junior NTR, Vikram, Mahesh Babu, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Dhanush, Allu Arjun, Nayanthara, Kamal Haasan and Vijay Deverakonda.

As informed earlier by the makers, the official trailer of ‘Maari 2’ has been released today in social medias. The movie which is the sequel to Dhanush’s 2015 film ‘Maari’ has high expectations among the audience. The actor is reprising his role of the naughty don. Balaji Mohan, who helmed the first part, is directing the sequel as well. Dhanush’s own banner Wundebar Films is producing it.

‘Maari 2’ marks the maiden straight outing of Mollywood’s young star Tovino Thomas in Tamil. He plays the villain in the movie. It also has Sai Pallavi, Krishna, Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar and Robo Shankar in major roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is handling the music department, and his recently released first single ‘Rowdy Baby’ has already become a sensational hit among music lovers.

‘Maari 2’ has a strong pre-release buzz in Tamil Nadu. Last day, the makers had announced that the movie will be hitting screens worldwide on December 21.

The 2016 Uri attack was one of the most deadliest attacks on security forces in India in the last two decades. Eleven days after the attack, Indian forces retaliated with surgical strikes against militant launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistani-occupied Kashmir. Based on India’s heroic operation, a movie is being made in Bollywood. Titled as ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, the movie is is being written and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar. Official trailer of the movie was released today in social medias.

One of Bollywood’s most promising actors, Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role in the movie, as an army commanding officer. Yami Gautham, Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari and Mohit Raina play the other major roles. The trailer is brilliantly cut and gives glimpses of some extraordinary action sequences. Since it is a film based on a true story, the audience are most likely to love it.

Ronnie Screwvala is producing the movie under the banner of RSVP Movies. It is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on January 19, 2019.

Mikhael has Nivin playing a doctor for the first time in his career. The actor appears in a stylish new look in the film, which is touted to be a family-oriented thriller. The movie also has Unni Mukundan in a major role, but the makers have kept his character details under wraps.

Manjima Mohan, JD Chakravarthy, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Ashokan, Shanthi Krishna, Kalabhavan Shajon and KPAC Lalitha are also part of the cast. Anto Joseph is producing the movie under his banner Anto Joseph Film Company. It is expected to hit screens early next year.

‘Petta’ has a huge lineup of actors and all their character poster are expected to be released one by one in the coming days. The movie’s cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha, Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Sasikumar and Megha Akash, Mahendran and many others.

‘Petta’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj is touted to be a mass entertainer.

For the last few months, actress Parvathy has been going through a lot of trouble. Ever since she opened up about the glorification of misogyny in ‘Kasaba’, the actress has been subject to a lot of abuse and social media bullying. Her involvement in the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) activities have also not gone well with many. A section of audience had called for boycotting her films, as a result of which her offers dried up.

Parvathy has publicly said that she has not been getting enough movie offers from Malayalam of late. The one film that she is currently doing is ‘Uyare’, directed by Manu Ashokan, a former associate of late Rajesh Pillai. National award winners Bobby and Sanjay have scripted the movie. While it remains to be seen if the movie will be accepted by the audience, writer Sanjay is very clear that criticisims against Parvathy won’t affect their movie. According to him and the team of ‘Uyare’, Parvathy is a National award winning actress who they felt is most suited for the lead role in this movie. They are confident that if the content is good, all other external issues won’t be affecting the film.

Parvathy plays an acid attack victim in ‘Uyare’. Hers is the central character and she will be undergoing a new makeover for the movie. She had recently visited the Sheroes cafe in Agra to learn more about the lives of acid attack victims. The cafe is run by a group of women who survived acid attacks. The movie also stars Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas in major roles.

Tovino Thomas is currently in that sort of a situation as two of his films, ‘Ente Ummante Peru’ and ‘Maari 2’, have been slated to hit screens on December 21. While the makers of ‘Maari 2’ have officially announced the release date, ‘Ente Ummante Peru’ team is still working towards it; a confirmation will be got only after the censor board clearance.

‘Maari 2’ directed by Balaji Mohan has Dhanush in the lead. The movie marks Tovino’s maiden straight outing in Tamil. He plays the villain in the movie. Though Tovino has played negative roles in movies like ‘ABCD’ and ‘Style’, it is his first attempt in doing a full-fledged villain role after becoming a star. His fans in Kerala have already arranged special early morning shows for the movie. They are all excited to see Dhanush and Tovino locking horns. The movie also stars Sai Pallavi, Krishna and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in major roles.

‘Ente Ummante Peru’ is a movie that is coming with no tall claims. Directed by debutant Jose Sebastian, the movie has Tovino and veteran actress Urvasi in the leads. The former has pinned high hopes the movie. He has assured that the movie will be a fun filled entertainer for the families. As the title suggests, the movie tells an endearing story of a mother-son relationship. Newcomer Saipriya plays the female lead.

Tovino is currently on a dream run and he will be hoping to continue the same with the success of both these films.

The song ‘Isaaqbaazi’ features the two Khans- SRK and Salman Khan. This fast number is composed by Ajay-Atul and sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Divya Kumar. Irshad Kamil has penned the lyrics.

‘Zero’ has Shah Rukh as Bauua Singh, a 38-year-old vertically challenged man. Anushka plays Aafia, who is a wheelchair-bound woman suffering from cerebral palsy. Katrina Kaif plays a movie star in the film. From the trailer, it is clear that the movie is about a complicated love triangle between the three leads.

Director Anand L Rai is well known for helming widely acclaimed movies like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu: Returns’. Like his earlier films, ‘Zero’ is also expected to be a fun flick with an emotional core in it. The movie produced by SRK’s own banner Red Chillies Entertainment is getting ready to storm screens on December 21.
