Joju George starrer ‘Joseph’ continues to get extremely good response from the audience. Cinephiles and critics have been showering positive reviews, with special mention for Joju’s performance. The movie directed by M Padmakumar is a mix of genres – has layers of emotional drama, investigative thriller and passes on a very important social message. After a slow start at the box office, theatres are now witnessing good occupancy courtesy the highly positive word of mouth in social medias.

‘Joseph’ is scripted by Shahi Kabir, a police officer in real-life. That authenticity and proper attention to details are there to be seen in the movie. It has a balanced screenplay that finely moves from dramatic emotional moments to an investigative mode. The various mental conflicts that the character Joseph goes through has been portrayed brilliantly by Joju George. Irshad, Dileesh Pothan, Sudhi Koppa and the two female leads have also done their parts well.

Director M Padmakumar, who is well known for his films like ‘Vargam’, ‘Vasthavam’ and ‘Shikkar’ has made a strong comeback with ‘Joseph’. With good support from his actors and technicians, the director has given his vision to a well-written screenplay. RRR: Rajamouli’s next starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan starts rolling

We had earlier reported that SS Rajamouli’s next will be with young superstars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the leads. After an official launch last week, the movie has gone on floors today. Rajamouli informed the same to his social media followers by sharing a photo taken with his two lead actors from the movie’s location. Reportedly, the team will start proceedings by shooting an action sequence. The team has still kept details about the movie’s genre under the wraps, though there are several vague reports doing the rounds.

Expectations and humongous for the movie, and naturally so as this is Rajamouli’s next after he created history with the ‘Baahubali’ series. The director’s father KV Vijayendra Prasad, who usually pens stories for his films, has written the story for this film as well. Rajamouli has written the screenplay and dialogues are by Sai Madhav Burra and Madhan Karky.

Almost the same technical crew from ‘Baahubali’ has been retained, which includes DOP KK Senthil Kumar, editor Sreekar Prasad, music director MM Keeravani, production designer Sabu Cyril, VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan and costume designer Rama Rajamouli. If reports are to be believed, the movie has been planned to be made on a budget of around Rs 300 crores. It is being produced by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment.

Prithviraj’s Ayyappan will be released in five languages: Producer Shaji Nadesan

Recently, actor Prithviraj made a surprise announcement through his social media handle. The actor is teaming up with Shankar Ramakrishnan for a mythological film on lord Ayyappa. The movie titled as ‘Ayyappan’ is being funded by August Cinema. According to Shaji Nadesan, one of the producers, the movie has been in the planning for a long time with a team working on the research for around two years.

Contrary to popular belief, the movie will be about prince Ayyappan’s life and not the deity. The producer is quoted saying to TOI, “It will tell the authentic life story of Ayyappan. The deity worshipped in Sabarimala is a form of Shasta; but the movie will focus on his life as a man. Ayyappan was a prince, a warrior and a revolutionary, and the research for the film has mined those stories from Pandalam palace.”

The makers are planning to release the movie in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages. An English version is also on the cards. Since the narrative traverses through different timelines, lead actor Prithviraj will be appearing in multiple looks in the movie. Apart from him, the movie will also have some leading actors from various other industries. The technical crew will be mostly from Malayalam as the makers believe that the industry has abundant talent. The team is planning to start shooting by next April and release it by January, 2020.

Prithviraj already has several other projects in his kitty. He is currently working on his directorial debut ‘Lucifer’. He is expected to start shooting for Lal Jr’s ‘Driving License’ by next March. He also has ‘Kaaliyan’, ‘Aadujeevitham’ and Kalabhavan Shajon’s directorial debut ‘Brother’s Day’ coming up. It will be interesting to see how the actor squeezes in dates for all these projects.

Joju George earns praise for his fantastic performance in Joseph

Joju George’s Joseph had hit screens last day and opened to largely positive response. After a slow start at the box office, theatres are now witnessing good occupancy. Positive word of mouth in social medias is attracting more audience to theatres. The movie directed by Padmakumar is a social drama that is high on emotions.

Joju’s stellar performance as a retired policeman is the movie’s backbone. The actor is getting appreciation from all corners for his act. Of late, the actor has only been doing performance oriented roles and Joseph is easily his career-best. The character goes through a lot of emotions and he has played it very naturally. His transition from a happy family man to a depressed loner is convincingly brought out on screen. The actor is sure to grab more meaty roles after this movie.

Director M Padmakumar, who is well known for his films like ‘Vargam’, ‘Vasthavam’ and ‘Shikkar’ has made a strong comeback with ‘Joseph’. The movie is scripted by Shahi Kabir, a police officer in real-life. That authenticity and proper attention to details are there to be seen in the movie.

Along with Joju, the movie also stars Dileesh Pothan, Irshad, Anil Murali, Madhuri, Malavika Menon, Jaffer Idukki, Sudhi Koppa, Johny Antony and Athmiya in supporting roles. It also has a solid technical crew. Manesh Madhavan, who won the Kerala State award last year for his work in ‘Aeden’, is the DOP while Kiran Das of ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ has handed the edits.

Joju himself has produced the movie under his own banner.
