It is already known that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is making a comeback to Tamil cinema with director KV Anand’s next. Mohanlal and Suriya are playing the lead roles in this yet-to-be-titled movie. ‘Vanamagan’ fame Sayyeshaa has been signed as the female lead while Telugu actor Allu Sirish will also be seen in a crucial role. One of Kollywood’s leading banners, Lyca Productions is funding this movie; pre-production works for which are currently progressing.

The latest buzz is that Mohanlal is playing a politician’s role in the movie. This is said to be a grey shaded role while Suriya, as the protagonist, appears in a security officer’s role. There is still no confirmation regarding this but it will be exciting to see him essaying a slightly negative role. Allu Sirish has already revealed that he has a full-length role and will be seen along with Suriya’s character throughout the film.

As per trustworthy reports, the movie is slated to go on floors from June 23 in London. Both Suriya and Mohanlal are expected to be part of the first schedule. Reportedly, the movie will be shot in around ten different countries. The makers are planning to complete the project before the end of November or early December. Confirmed: Director Hari’s next after Saamy 2 is with Suriya!

The trailer of director Hari’s upcoming movie Saamy Square is the current talk in social medias. Several trolls have been made on the trailer which is packed with over the top action blocks, racy editing, and strangely loud punch dialogues. Vikram is playing the lead in the movie which is the sequel to his superhit cop flick Saamy, also helmed by Hari. Saamy Square also starring Bobby Simha and Keerthy Suresh is expected to hit screens by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Hari’s next after Saamy is with Suriya. The latter himself revealed this in a recently held fans meet. While updating his fans about his upcoming movies, the star is quoted as saying, “Suriya 37 (working title) directed by KV Anand will start rolling from 23 June. We have completed 50 days of shoot for Selvaraghavan’s NGK. We still have 25 days of shoot left in Coimbatore to complete the project. Suriya 38 will be produced by my home banner 2D Entertainment and directed by Sudha Kongara. Later, director Hari and I are teaming up for a fresh project, which will be bigger than the Singam franchise“.

Apart from the three-part Singam series, Suriya and Hari have also worked together in movies like Aaru and Vel. This upcoming movie will be their sixth outing together and they will be hoping to continue the good run. Hari is known for his racy commercial action flicks, and his next is also expected to be on similar lines. Stay tuned for more updates.

Joby George is producing the movie under the banner of Goodwill Entertainment. The movie’s official trailer will be released on June 6 in a launch event planned at Lulu Mall, Kochi.

Mammootty has been shooting for Sethu’s directorial debut Oru Kuttanadan Blog for a while now. The shoot is nearing its final stages and we hear that the movie will hit screens in August as an Onam release. As the title suggests Oru Kuttanadan Blog is a rurally based fun entertainer. Anu Sithara, Raai Laxmi, and Shamna Kasim play the three female leads in the movie.

The movie has Mammootty playing Hari, a popular blogger in his locality, while Shamna’s character Neena is a police officer. The core plot of Oru Kuttanadan Blog set in a fictional village named Krishnapuram. The movie is narrated interestingly through various episodes of a blog.

Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vineeth Kumar, Jacob Gregory, Shaheen Siddique, Sohan Seenulal, Vivek Gopan, Lalu Alex, Thesni Khan, Sanju Sivaram and Adil Ibrahim form the movie’s supporting cast. Pradeep Nair is the cinematographer and ‘Idea Star Singer’ fame Sreenath Sivasankaran is debuting as a composer with this movie.

Oru Kuttandan Blog is being produced by Muraleedharan and Santha Muraleedharan under the banner of Anantha Vision. As per reports, the movie will hit screens on August 24 but let’s wait for an official confirmation.

As per latest reports, the movie is all set to start rolling from June 23 in London. Suriya himself revealed updates about his upcoming movies during a recent fans meet. He is quoted as saying, “Suriya 37 (working title) directed by KV Anand will start rolling from 23 June. We have completed 50 days of shoot for Selvaraghavan’s NGK. We still have 25 days of shoot left to complete the project. Suriya 38 will be produced by my home banner 2D Entertainment and directed by Sudha Kongara. Later, I’ll be teaming up with director Hari for a fresh project, which will be bigger than the Singam franchise”.

Suriya 37 marks the star’s third film with KV Anand after Ayan and Maattraan. This upcoming movie is said to be the most expensive in Suriya’s career. Reportedly, will be shot in around ten different countries. Director KV Anand is scripting the movie jointly with famous novelist Pattukottai Prabhakar. ‘Jigarthanda’ fame Gavemic U Ary will be wielding the camera and Harris Jayaraj has been signed as the music director.

The makers are planning to complete the project before the end of November or early December. Both Suriya and Mohanlal are expected to be part of the first schedule that kick-starts on June 23. The latter is already in London as part of the shoot of his upcoming movie with director Ranjith.

This upcoming movie, which is touted to be a rural comedy entertainer, has Samantha paired opposite Sivakarthikeyan for the first time. Latest news is that the hot and happening Keerthy Suresh will be seen in a cameo role in the movie.

Keerthy confirmed the same through her official social media handle. This is her second outing with Sivakarthikeyan after acting alongside him in Remo. The actress who is currently basking in the glory of the success of her recently released film, Mahanati, will be joining Seemaraja team very soon.

Seemaraja also has Simran, one of the leading heroines of her time, in a negative role. Samantha also has a solid role; she even underwent training in Tamil Nadu’s traditional martial arts form Silambam for the movie. Seemaraja’s supporting cast includes Malayali actor Lal, Napoleon, Soori, Motta Rajendran, Yogi Babu and Manobala among others.

D Imman is handling the music department and Balasubramaniam is cranking the camera for this rom-com, set in a rural backdrop. The movie is being produced by RD Raja’s 24 AM Studios. It is their third consecutive film with Sivakarthikeyan after Remo and Velaikkaran.

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ (CCV) is an exciting movie for the stellar cast the director has assembled. Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh are playing the lead roles in the movie, which is said to be a socio-political drama centered around an industrial power plant.

Reportedly, shoot for the movie got wrapped up last day in Serbia. Among the lead cast, only Simbu was part of this final schedule. All others had finished their portions much earlier. It is quite remarkable that Mani Ratnam could wrap up such a big multi-starrer in quick time.

Social drama has always been Mani Ratnam’s forte as he has proven with his films like Aayudha Ezhuthu (remade as Yuvaa in Hindi) and Kannathil Muthamittal. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is also said to be a movie on similar lines. Reportedly, the movie discusses industrial pollution and the environmental hazards associated with it. The director gave hints of what’s in store with the first look poster which had industrial chimneys in the background.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam includes Mani Ratnam’s usual set of technicians. Santhosh Sivan handles the cinematography and Sreekar Prasad is editing the movie. Maestro AR Rahman is composing the music. Lyca Productions is producing CCV on a first copy basis along with Mani Ratnam’s home banner Madras Talkies.

African actor Samuel Abiola Robinson made his acting debut in Malayalam cinema with Sudani From Nigeria, which was released earlier this year. The movie directed by debutant Zakariya was met with overwhelming reviews and emerged as a deserving winner at the box office. Samuel who played one of the leads along with Soubin Shahir won a lot of appreciation for his appreciation in the movie.

As informed by the makers, the official trailer of Chiyaan Vikram’s upcoming movie Saamy Square has been released today. Saamy Square is the sequel of Vikram’s superhit cop thriller Saamy, which was released in 2003. Hari, who helmed the first part is directing the sequel as well. This two minute long trailer is a typical Hari packaging with over the top action moments and loud dialogues.

If reports are to be believed, Saamy Square has Vikram playing a dual role, as Aarusaamy and his son, who is also a cop. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead in the movie while National award winner Bobby Simha plays the antagonist. Bobby Simha is said to be playing the role of Ravana Pichai, the son of Perumal Pichai, who was the villain in the first part.

From the stills and motion poster, Saamy Square promsies to be an usual Hari film with the regular mass masala formula. Prabhu, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Soori and Imman Annachi are also part of the movie’s supporting cast. A Venkatesh took over the cinematography after the untimely demise of Priyan. Devi Sri Prasad is in charge of the music department.

Shibu Thameens, who also produced Vikram’s Irumugan, is funding Saamy Square under the banner of Thameens Films.

Odiyan is unagruably one of the most hyped Malayalam movies in recent years. Expectations about the movie has been huge ever since it was announced. Ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon is making his directorial debut with this movie, touted to be a mass entertainer with elements of fantasy and magical realism.

Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj play major roles in Odiyan. National award winner Hari Krishnan has scripted this movie based on the life of odiyans. The movie is primarily about odividya, a kind of black magic and people who practice it, called odiyans. Odiyan’s shoot was wrapped up in April. The team shot for 123 days in multiple schedules lasting for around five months. The movie is currently in its post-production phase.

Since Odiyan has high prominence to VFX, the makers have signed one of the best in the business. NY VFXWAALA, headed by Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn, is taking care of the VFX works in Odiyan. They recently won the National Award for Best Visual Effects for their outstanding work in Shivaay, starring and directed by Ajay Devgn. They have been in the field for over two decades and and have worked in over 200 films in Bollywood alone. Some of their noted works include Force, Bajirao Mastaani, Dangal etc.

NY VFXWAALA is also among one of the many VFX teams that worked in SS Rajamouli’s visual spectacle Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. In South cinema, they have worked in movies like Theri and Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai. Odiyan is a very ambitious film and it will be one the most challenging works for the NY VFXWAALA team.

Odiyan’s technical crew includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor John Kutty, music director M Jayachandran and action choreographer Peter Hein. Aashirvad Cinemas headed by Antony Perumbavoor is funding this big budget movie.
