Dulquer Salmaan thanks one and all for the huge success of Mahanati
Mahanati, the Telugu biopic on legendary actress Savitri continues to get extraordinary response from the audience. Critics as well as the commoners have unanimously rated it as a must watch. The movie directed by Nag Ashwin traces the life of Savitri from 1940s to the 80s.
While Keerthy Suresh played her role, Dulquer essayed the role of Gemini Ganesan, who was briefly married to Savitri. Despite being knew to the language, Dulquer managed to give one of his finest ever performances. All three lead actors – Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan and Samantha – have been getting terrific feedback from the viewers for their performance.
Dulquer, whose Telugu debut has struck gold, has written a note on his Facebook page thanking every single person of team Mahanati, the audience and the medias. He has written,
Ellavarkum Nanni ! For all the love for #Mahanati ! I loved being a part of Savitri Garu’s biopic. Whether the role was big or small. White or Grey. I loved the entire experience. From hearing the idea to performing every scene. Language no bar it’s been some of the most memorable dialogues I’ve ever got to speak and some of the best scenes I got to enact in any film. Thank you team #Mahanati for the opportunity. The amount of research and effort and work gone into the film is beyond anything I’ve seen. The success is completely deserved. I hope it grows to new heights with each new day.

Keerthy there is nothing I can say that people havnt already told you. But from start to finish it’s your film and you’ve lived every moment as Savitri Garu and made the viewers laugh and cry, fall in love and broken their hearts along with you.
Sam you were extremely endearing as Madhuravani and huge respect for choosing to play this role. And both of you along with the 18 plus women in our crew are the real stars of #Mahanati ! For women all over India this film stands strong !

Indrakshi – I couldn’t have asked for a better stylist for the film. The first time I stepped into Geminis shoes was literally the first costume trial. A lot of his mannerisms and style came from the costumes and styling. So thank you for that. One of the draws for me to do the film was also to dress, live and experience that period in all of its glamour and colour.
