Actor Sreejith Vijay got married to Kannur native Archana Gopinath on May 12 in a traditional ceremony held in Kochi. Relatives and close friends of the couple attended the wedding. Celebrities like Meera Nandan, Govind Padmasoorya, Poojitha Menon, Shritha Sivadas, Zinil Zainudeen, Shalin and many others were also present to wish the newlyweds.

Sreejith Vijay made his acting debut in 2011 with Fazil’s Living Together. His most notable role came in the TK Rajeev Kumar directorial Rathinirvedam. He has also acted in movies like Maad Dad,Money Back Policy, Yathrakkoduvil, Tourist Home etc.

Vikram’s Saamy Square, the sequel of his 2003 superhit flick Saamy, is an eagerly awaited movie in Kollywood this year. Hari, who helmed the first part, is directing the sequel as well. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead the movie which has National award winner Bobby Simha as the antagonist. Last day, the makers informed that the first look poster of Saamy Square will be released on May 17 at 6 PM.

If reports are to be believed, Vikram plays a dual role in the movie, as Aarusaamy and his son, who is also a cop. A few leaked posters have led to speculations that Bobby Simha is playing the role of Ravana Pichai, the son of Perumal Pichai, who was the villain in the first part. Saamy Square promsies to be a typical Hari film with the regular mass masala formula. Prabhu, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Soori and Imman Annachi are also part of the supporting cast.

A Venkatesh has taken over the cinematography after the untimely demise of Priyan. Devi Sri Prasad is in charge of the music department. Shibu Thameens, who previously produced Vikram’s Irumugan, is funding Saamy Square under the banner of Thameens Films.

Mahanati, the Telugu biopic on legendary actress Savitri continues to get extraordinary response from the audience. Critics as well as the commoners have unanimously rated it as a ‘must watch’. ‘Yevade Subramaniam’ fame Nag Ashwin has directed this movie which boasts of a huge star cast. Keerthy Suresh plays the role of Savitri while Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan, who is making his Telugu debut, plays late actor Gemini Ganesan in the movie.

In a recent interview, Nag Ashwin was all praise for Dulquer Salmaan and the kind of commitment he shows to his craft. The director finds Dulquer’s unselfish approach similar to Rana Daggubati’s love for cinema.

Nag Ashwin is quoted saying, “Dulquer does films unselfishly. The only other person I know who has a similar love for cinema is Rana Daggubati. Dulquer is juggling so many projects at once, and yet, he didn’t once opt for a fake moustache for his role. It shows his commitment to the character.”

Mahanati follows Savitri’s life from the 1940s to 1980s and features those films she acted with legends from the Telugu and Tamil film industry. Though the movie mostly revolves around Savitri’s life, Dulquer as Gemini Ganesan is one of the principal characters in the movie. Savitri was briefly married to Gemini Ganesan and the movie will shows some lesser known details about their relationship.

Naga Chaitanya, Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha, Prakash Rajendra Prasad, Malavika Nair, Mohan Babu and Shalini Pandey are also part of Mahanati’s star cast. The Tamil (Nadigayar Thilagam) and Malayalam (Mahanadi) versions of the movie have hit screens today (May 11).

Apart from acting, he is also venturing into production this year by funding his close friend Arunraja Kamaraja’s directorial debut which is based on women’s cricket. After trying his hand in hosting shows, acting, playback singing and production, Sivakarthikeyan is now turning a lyricist.

The Velaikkaran actor is penning a song in Nayanthara’s upcoming movie Kolamavu Kokila aka CoCo. Young sensation Anirudh Ravichander has composed this song titled ‘Kalyana Vayasu’, which will be released on May 17. Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh are close friends and have worked together in many hit films like Ethir Neechal, Maan Karate, Remo, and Velaikkaran.

CoCo directed by debutant Nelson Dilipkumar is said to be a quirky comedy drama. While Nayanthara plays the titular role, actors like Saranya Ponvannan, Yogi Babu, Jacqueline and Nisha will be seen in supporting roles. Lyca Productions, one of the most leading banners in Kollywood, is funding this movie.

Mohanlal’s Neerali is getting ready for a grand Eid release next month. Fans and the common audience are eagerly waiting for the movie. Last day, the makers posted photos from a musical session in their social media handle. Apparently, Neerali’s title song is the first Malayalam movie song to be mixed at Poland, Studio 2002. Stephen Devassy is handling the music department in the movie.

Recently, famous drummer Sivamani had performed for a song in the movie. Looks like Stephen Devassy’s Neerali album will be a treat for the music lovers. Earlier, he had recorded a duet song rendered by Shreya Ghoshal and Mohanlal. The latter is singing in a movie after around five years, so expectations are high among the fans.

Neerali directed by Ajoy Varma has Mohanlal playing Sunny George, a gemologist. Nadhiya Moidu, who is making a comeback to Malayalam after a long gap, is playing his wife’s role in the movie. The cast also includes, Parvatii Nair, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dileesh Pothan, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Sai Kumar, Megha Mathew and Nasser.

Newcomer Saju Thomas has scripted this movie as an action-packed adventure thriller. Since it is an adventure thriller, the movie has a lot of VFX involved and the makers have signed one of India’s leading VFX companies to handle the same. According to our sources close to the unit, Neerali will have the best quality visual effects that Malayalam cinema has ever seen.

Neerali’s technical crew is mostly from Bollywood. Santhosh Thundiyil, noted for his works in several popular Hindi films has cranked the camera in Neerali. Director Ajoy Varma himself is handling the edits. The movie is being produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla’s Moonshot Entertainment, and co-produced by John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikdan.

Recently, we had reported that South superstars Mohanlal and Suriya will be teaming up for the first time for director KV Anand’s upcoming movie. One of Kollywood’s leading banners, Lyca Productions is funding this movie; pre-production works for which are currently progressing. Through their official Twitter handle, the makers have now announced that Telugu actor Allu Sirish has joined the cast.

Allu Sirish, the younger brother of Stylish Star Allu Arjun, made his Tamil debut back in 2013 with the movie ‘Gauravam’. In his comeback movie, Sirish reportedly has a full length role and he will be trying to make the best out of acting alongside two big stars like Mohanlal and Suriya. Last year, he got the opportunity to share screen space with Mohanlal in the war-drama ‘1971 Beyond Borders’, which was also the youngster’s debut Malayalam movie.

Meanwhile, KV Anand and his team is busy with location scouting and other pre-production works. This yet-to-be titled movie is said to be an action-thriller on the lines of his own ‘Ayan’. The director is scripting the movie jointly with famous novelist Pattukottai Prabhakar. Gavemic U Ary, well known for his stellar work in ‘Jigarthanda’, will be wielding the camera and Kiran is handling the production design. Harris Jayaraj has been signed as the music director.

More details regarding the title and when the movie goes on floors are expected to be announced in the coming days.

The song titled Endhe Kanna is penned by BK Harinarayanan and rendered to perfection by Megha Josekutty. Shaan Rahman has composed this beautiful track. Shaan’s music is one of the major highlights of the movie. All the songs have emerged as chartbusters.

Aravindante Athidhikal directed by M Mohanan tells an endearing story of an orphan and his wait for his long lost mother. Rajesh Raghavan has scripted this movie which is set the premises of the famous Mookambika Temple in Kollur. Vineeth Sreenivasan plays Aravindan, an orphan raised by Madhavan (Sreenivasan), who owns a lodge – Mookambika Vilasam.

Nikhila Vimal of ‘Love 24×7’ fame is paired opposite Vineeth in the movie. Urvashi, Shanthi Krishna, Prem Kumar, KPAC Lalitha, Vijayaraghavan, Aju Varghese, Biju Kuttan, Kottayam Nazeer and Baiju form a solid supporting cast. The movie is jointly produced by Pradeep Kumar Pathiyara of Pathiyara Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Noble Babu Thomas of Big Bang Entertainments.

As we had reported earlier, the motion poster of Prithviraj starrer 9 aka Nine has been released today in social medias. This movie touted to be a science fiction thriller is being directed by Jenuse Mohamed of 100 Days of Love fame. Along with the motion poster, an intro to the original soundtrack has also been released by the makers. Shaan Rahman is composing the songs in Nine while ‘Da Thadiya’ fame Sekhar Menon composes the original music score.

Nine is probably the first of its kind sci-fi flick in Malayalam cinema. If reports are to be believed, Prithviraj plays a scientist in this movie, the story of which happens over nine days. The makers have still not revealed details regarding the movie’s female lead or supporting cast. The movie went on floors last month in Kottayam before heading to the Himalayas.

Abhinandan Ramanujam, well known for his works in movies like ‘Amen’ and ‘Mosayile Kuthirameenukal’ is cranking the camera and edits are handled by Shameer Muhammed. Actor Prithviraj’s newly launched production house Prithviraj Productions is producing this ambitious project jointly with Sony Pictures International Productions.

It is already known that Santhosh Sivan will be directing Mammootty in the much talked about Kunjali Marakkar IV, to be funded by August Cinema. Pre-production works for the movie are currently progressing. Meanwhile, a buzz is going around in social medias that Santhosh Sivan is planning to make another movie with Mammootty before moving on to Kunjali Marakkar. More details regarding this is still not known but fans are already in an excited mood.

Mammootty has a busy season ahead of him with a handful of projects. He is currently shooting for Sethu’s Oru Kuttanadan Blog after which he will be joining the second schedule of the epic-film Mamankam. By June, he is expected to start shooting for his upcoming Telugu movie Yatra, which is the biopic on late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajashekara Reddy.

Kunchacko Boban plays the title role in the movie which also has ‘Premam’ fame Krishna Sankar in another major role. Aashiq Usman who produced Kunchako Boban’s Varnyathil Aashanka and Shajahanum Pareekkuttyum is producing this upcoming movie as well. ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ fame Jimshi Khalid will be cranking the camera and the much-in-demand Shaan Rahman has been brought on board to handle the music department.

Kunchacko Boban is currently shooting for anchor-turned-filmmaker Soumya Sadanandan’s maiden feature film titled Mangalyam Thanthunanena. Nimisha Sajayan of ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ fame is playing the female lead in this movie touted to be a family entertainer. Kunchacko Boban has also committed for movies with Marthandan and Lal Jose.
