Confirmed: Nayanthara’s Aramm 2 all set to go on floors!

Ever since the release of Aramm in November last year, there have been reports about the possibility of a sequel for the movie. It has now been confirmed that the second part is happening and the makers are planning to start shooting in September. Starring Nayanthara in the lead, Aramm was a riveting social drama revolving around a rescue operation.

Gopi Nainar directed the movie which had Nayanthara playing the role of a district collector. Critics as well as the commoners unanimously rated it as her career best performance and the movie rode solely on her popularity among the masses. Aramm emerged a bit hit at the box office and won Nayanthara quite a few awards as well.

Aramm’s producer Kotapadi Rajesh of KJR Studios and director Gopi Nainar have confirmed that shoot for the sequel will commence once Nayanthara finishes her prior commitments. The director hinted that the second part will also be a social drama, but discuss about caste and religion based discrimination this time.

Nayanthara’s kitty is full with a lot of projects lined up. She is currently busy shooting for Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in which she is sharing screen space with superstars like Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan. After that she is expected to join the sets of Dhyan Sreenivasan’s directorial debut Love Action Drama, in which she will be acting alongside Nivin Pauly for the first time. Kolaiyuthir Kaalam, Imaikkaa Nodigal and Kolamaavu Kokila are her upcoming movies in Tamil.

The much talked about Kammara Sambhavam is gearing up to hit screens this Vishu season. Murali Gopy has scripted the movie which marks the directorial debut of ad filmmaker Rathish Ambat. It is an epic set in three different timelines. Dileep and popular South Indian actor Siddharth play the lead roles in the movie which focuses on historical accounts and how it is depicted by the ones who wrote it.

Siddharth is unarguably one of the most talented and versatile among the younger generation of actors in South cinema. Starting his journey in cinema as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, Siddharth then plunged to acting with Shankar’s Boys. Soon, he made big strides and started bagging roles in Hindi and Telugu films.

In the recently held audio launch event, Siddharth talked about how he waited for 17 years to make his debut in Malayalam. He is quoted saying, “God has been very kind to me, I made my debut in Tamil with Shankar, in Telugu with Prabhudeva and with Aamir Khan in Hindi. It took me 17 long years to make my Malayalam debut and I’m so happy that I got to do it with a Dileepettan film.” Adding more on his admiration for his co-star, Siddharth said, “Dileepettan is like a ‘rakshasanadigan’, which means whoever stands next to him, he’ll finish them off. I’ve shot the film for about 100 days and I can say nobody can score against him.”

Shoot for Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Junga’ is nearing completion. The movie directed by Gokul is touted to be a fun entertainer in which Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of don. ‘Vanamagan’ fame Sayyeshaa is paired opposite him in this movie. Latest buzz is that Madonna Sebastian is being considered for a crucial role in Junga.

If it turns out to be true, this will be Madonna’s third film with Vijay Setupathi after starring opposite him in ‘Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum’ and ‘Kavan’. Their on-screen chemistry in both the movies were widely appreciated. We still wait for an official confirmation about her casting in Junga.

Junga is Vijay Setupathi’s second film with Gokul after the comic caper Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (IAB). Junga is said to be a rom-com entertainer, which according to the makers, will be a lot more quirkier and interesting than the duo’s previous outing, IAB.

Vijay Sethupathy is sporting a new look for his don role in the movie. Sayyeshaa plays the role of a girl who is born and brought up in Paris. Major portions of the movie was shot in Paris and other parts of France. Interestingly, Junga is Vijay Sethupathi’s first movie to be shot abroad though songs have been shot before.

Amal Neerad-Fahadh Faasil movie to hit screens this Onam!!

Shoot for Fahadh Faasil’s yet-to-be titled movie with director Amal Neerad is progressing at a brisk pace. Aishwarya Lekshmi of ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’ and ‘Mayaanadhi’ fame is playing the female lead opposite Fahadh. Nothing much is known about the movie or its genre. But it is now being reported that the movie will hit screens for this year’s Onam, which falls in August. Initially, Fahadh’s movie with Anwar Rasheed, Trance, was scheduled to release for Onam but it has now been pushed to December.

Expectations are on the higher side for Fahadh’s upcoming movie with Amal Neerad as the duo’s last film, ‘Iyobinte Pusthakam’, was a widely acclaimed one. Amal Neerad’s movies have always been known for their technical quality. For his next, he has roped in Littil Swayamp to handle the cinematography. Littil made a splendid debut last year with ‘Parava’. Nazriya Nazim is debuting as a producer with this upcoming movie, which she is jointly funding with Amal Neerad Productions.

Fahadh meanwhile has his Tamil film ‘Super Deluxe’ gearing up for release. The movie directed by National award winner Thyagaraja Kumararaja also stars Vijay Setupathi, Samantha, Mysskin and Ramya Krishnan in the lead roles. As per trustworthy reports, the movie will be sent to film festivals across the world before its theatrical release in India.

Gokulam Gopalan to invest big on Mammootty’s upcoming game thriller!

Recently we had reported about Mammootty committing for a movie with debutant Deen Dennis. For his maiden film, Deen, the younger son of scriptwriter Kaloor Dennis, has come up with what is the first ever game thriller in Malayalam cinema. According to him, shoot will kick-start by December once Mammootty is free from his other assignments.

Gokulam Gopalan is producing the movie under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. Of late, the banner has been funding some big budget flicks like Kammara Sambhavam and Kayamkulam Kochunni. This upcoming game thriller is also said to be planned on a big scale with high production values. It is worth a mention that Mammootty’s highly acclaimed period flick Pazhassi Raja was also bankrolled by the same production house.

Deen Dennis has scripted his debut movie as a mass thriller with all commercial elements. Mammootty plays Vinod Menon, a travel buff in the movie. The plot is set around on a series of mysterious incidents that occur in Kochi city. How these incidents are connected to the protagonist, Vinod Menon, form the crux of the story. Apart from Mammootty, a prominent young actor from Tamil industry will also be part of this yet-to-be titled movie. Pre-production works are currently progressing. Kochi and Bangalore have already been finalized as the major locations.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is busy shooting for Oru Kuttandan Blog with scriptwriter-turned-filmmaker Sethu. His next release is Parole, a family-drama directed by Sharrath Sandith. The movie is slated to hit screens next week. The megastar also has a string of other films like Uncle, Peranbu and Abrahaminte Santhathikal gearing up for release.

Sangamithra to finally go on floors this July!

Director Sundar C’s magnum opus Sangamithra hogged the headlines for several reasons. The movie’s massive production cost, it’s high profile launch at the Cannes Festival and Shruthi Haasan opting out after days of the launch were all in the news. Bollywood actress Disha Patani was later signed to replace Shruti for the titular role, Sangamithra.

The movie was supposed to go on floors last year itself but had to be postponed due to some unknown reasons. As per latest reports, the makers are planning to start shoot from this July in Hyderabad. Sangamithra, written and directed by Sundar C is an epic period film which is estimated to be made on a whopping budget of Rs 400 crore by Thenandal Studios Limited (TSL)

Jayam Ravi and Arya will be playing the male protagonists in the movie. It is a period drama set in the 8th century AD. All three lead actors – Disha Patani, Jayam Ravi and Arya have been undergoing rigorous training in horse riding, physical combat and other weapon-based martial arts training. Oscar Award winner AR Rahman will be handling the music department and Sabu Cyril has been roped in as the production designer.

More details regarding the supporting cast and technical crew is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

With three back to back hits, Atlee is now one of the most wanted filmmakers in Tamil cinema. His last movie Mersal with Thalapathy was a massive blockbuster, said to be the highest grossing movie in Kollywood. Ever since the release of Mersal, there have been a lot of speculations about the director’s next. Though Atlee had confirmed that he will be teaming up with Vijay once again, but that will not be his immediate project.

For the last few months, talks have been going around about Atlee planning a movie with ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas. In a recent interaction with a bunch of college students, Atlee even hinted the same, but without revealing the name. He is quoted saying, “My next will be a big Telugu film, with a leading star. I request everyone to wait for a few more days, as the discussions are still going on.”

Even though Atlee stopped from revealing the Telugu star’s name, reports strongly suggest Prabhas to be the top contender. Prabhas meanwhile is shooting for Saaho directed by Sujeeth. It is an ambitious film with a plethora of actors from industries across the country. Bollywood diva Shraddha Kapoor is playing the female lead. Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mandira Bedi, Tamil actor Arun Vijay and Lal are playing prominent roles in the movie.

If reports are to be believed, Prabhas is also in talks for a romantic film with director Radha Krishna Kumar. Pooja Hedge is said to be playing the female lead. An official announcement has not yet been made.

As we already know, popular actor and television host Ramesh Pisharody is turning a director with ‘Panchavarnathatha’. Jayaram and Kunchacko Boban are playing the lead roles in this movie touted to be a fun filled family entertainer. The movie’s trailer has officially been released today by the makers in social medias.

Panchavarnathatha has Jayaram sporting a never before seen look – a fully bald and clean shaven avatar. He is said to be playing the role of a pet shop keeper while Kunchacko Boban plays the role of a MLA. Anusree is the female lead while Salim Kumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Balaji Sharma, Ashokan, Maniyanpilla Raju, Prem Kumar and many others are part of the supporting cast.

Ramesh Pisharody has scripted the movie jointly with Hari P Nair. The movie has a tinge of fantasy and promises to be a laugh riot aimed at families this holiday season. Pisharody is an audience favourite fo his spontaneous humour timing, so expectations are on the higher side for his directorial debut.

Panchavarnathatha has songs composed by M Jayachandran and background score by Ousepachan. Nadirshah will be presenting the introduction song. Actor Maniyanpilla Raju is producing the movie under the banner of Saptha Tarang Cinema LLP.

Then official teaser of Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer Aravindante Athithikal was released on Saturday (March 31). Vineeth and Sreenivasan feature in this 46 second teaser in which try to recreate an iconic dialogue from the yesteryear classic ‘Nadodikattu’. The teaser was met with good response from the viewers and has already fetched around six lakh views in social medias.

Aravindante Athidhikal is directed by M Mohanan, who has made hit films like Katha Parayumbol and Manikyakallu. From the teaser, the movie looks like a clean feel good entertainer. Newcomer Rajesh Raghavan has scripted the movie which is set in the premises of the famous Mookambika Temple in Kollur.

Vineeth Sreenivasan plays Aravindan, an orphan raised by Madhavan (Sreenivasan), who owns a lodge – Mookambika Vilasam. The movie explores the protagonist Aravindan’s relationship with his guests and his wait for his long lost mother. Nikhila Vimal of ‘Love 24×7’ fame plays Vineeth’s pair in the movie.

Urvashi, Shanthi Krishna, KPAC Lalitha, Vijayaraghavan, Aju Varghese, Biju Kuttan, Salim Kumar, Prem Kumar, Kottayam Nazeer and Baiju will be seen in supporting roles. Swaroop Philip is the cinematographer and veteran Ranjan Abraham is editing the movie. Shaan Rahman, a regular in Vineeth Sreenivasan movies, is handling the music department.

Aravindante Athidhikal is jointly produced by Pradeep Kumar Pathiyara of Pathiyara Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Noble Babu Thomas of Big Bang Entertainments.

Sivakarthikeyan has reportedly signed for a new movie with director M Rajesh. KE Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green Entertainment is backing this movie, said to be a typical commercial entertainer. If latest reports are to be believed, Nayanthara will be paired opposite Sivakarthikeyan in this upcoming movie.

Reportedly, Sai Pallavi was also in talks for the female lead’s role but the makers are now keen to sign Nayanthara. If it turns out to be true, this will be her second outing with Sivakarthikeyan after last year’s hit film, Velaikkaran. It is also worth a mention that Nayanthara has previously worked with director M Rajesh in Boss Engira Bhaskaran.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is awaiting the release of Seemaraja, directed by Ponram. He is also prepping up to start shooting for Ravikumar’s yet-to-be titled sci-fi flick. Another film with Vignesh Shivn is in the pipeline for Sivakarthikeyan.
