Priya Prakash Varrier became an overnight sensation after her ‘wink’ in the Omar Lulu directorial Oru Adaar Love. The teenager is now hugely popular across the world. The pretty girl has been flooded with offers for movies and from leading brands for endorsements. But the actress is yet to sign for any other movie.

As per latest reports, Bollywood’s leading producer Karan Johar is planning to rope in Priya for the upcoming movie ‘Simmba’. Rohit Shetty is directing this movie which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead. The movie is the remake of Jr NTR’s blockbuster Telugu flick ‘Temper’.

Reportedly, Priya’s role is not so big in the film. But Karan Johar and Rohit are keen to cast her to cash in on her massive popularity. Deepika Padukone is being considered to play the female lead opposite Ranveer. If Priya signs the movie, it will be a massive launch for her in B-Town with so many big names involved in the project.

Meanwhile, Priya is minting big bucks through influential marketing. It is reported that the teenage sensation is charging around Rs 8 lakhs for each post in her Instagram handle. With a whopping 5.1 million followers, Priya is among the most followed Indian celebrities in Instagram. She is making good use of it with influential marketing by promoting brands like Pringles, One Plus and Hypstar.

Ajith likely to team up with Prabhudeva for his next after Viswasam!

Ajith is getting ready to start shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Viswasam’, which is to be directed by Siva. It is his fourth film with the director after Veeram, Vedhalam and Vivegam. Shoot for Viswasam is expected to kick-start by the end of this month in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. Nayanthara has been signed as the female lead for this movie, tipped to be a mass commercial entertainer.

Meanwhile, several reports are floating around in social medias about who will be directing Ajith’s next movie after Viswasam. Vishnuvardhan and ‘Theeran’ fame H Vinoth are some of the names that have been doing the rounds, but as per latest reports actor-director-choreographer Prabhudeva will direct Ajith’s next. If it turns out to be true, this will be the duo’s first outing together.

According to reports coming from Kollywood medias, Prabhudeva had recently pitched a subject to Ajith who seemed to have liked it and has agreed to do the movie. Gopi Nainar, who won rave reviews for his directorial debut ‘Aramm’, will be penning the dialogues for this upcoming movie. However, the authenticity of this news has not yet been confirmed.

Prabhudeva meanwhile is busy with his acting commitments. His silent film ‘Mercury’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj is gearing up for release next month. Yung Mung Sung, Lakshmi, Oomai Vizhigal, Charlie Chaplin 2 and Khamoshi are his some of his upcoming movies as an actor. He has also announced that he will be directing Salman Khan in the third instalment of the popualr Dabaang franchise.

Sunny Wayne started shooting for his upcoming movie French Viplavam only last month and the latest we hear is that it has been wrapped up. The team has completed the shoot in just 22 days. The movie is directed by Maju and scripted jointly by Anwar Ali, Shajeer Shah and Shajeer.

French Viplavam is tipped to be a fun entertainer with a period backdrop, set in 1996. Sunny Wayne plays the role of a chef in the movie. He is a lazy guy working in a village resort who likes to hang around with his friends all the time. The actor is sporting a new look in the movie. Since the time period is different, his costumes and looks have all been deisgned accordingly. The movie promsies to explore a different dimension of Sunny Wayne, the actor.

Chemban Vinod Jose and veteran actor Lal essay other major roles in the movie. The three actors are coming together for the first time, so it will be interesting to see their on-screen chemistry. Sasi Kallinga, Vishnu, Unnimaya, Arya and Krishna are also part of the supporting cast.

Pappinu has cranked the camera while Deepu Joseph handles the edits. Prashanth Pillai is composing music for the movie. It is being produced by Shajeer KJ and Jaffeer KA under the banner of Abba Creations.

The final schedule of Mohanlal’s Odiyan is commencing at a brisk pace. This Shrikumar Menon directorial is being made as a mass entertainer with elements of fantasy and magical realism. A hundred member crew comprising of the artists and technicians are sweating it out in Palakkad, the movie’s major location. The art department headed by Prashanth Madhav have erected a fictional village Thenkurissi where the team is currently shooting.

Odiyan scripted by Harikrishnan is primarily about Odividya, a kind of black magic practiced in medieval Kerala. People who practice Odividya are called odiyans. Mohanlal plays the role of odiyan Manikyan in the movie. Manju Warrier plays the female lead, Prabha, and Prakash Raj essays the villain role of Ravunni. The story is set in three different timelines starting from the pre-electricty days in the 1950s to 2000.

In this ongoing schedule, the younger portions of these three lead characters are being shot. All three of them – Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj – will be appearing in multiple looks in the movie. Taking everyone by surprise, Mohanlal had recently shed around 18 kilos to play the younger version of his character Manikyan. Location stills featuring him as the young and trim Manikyan is trending virally in social medias.

Innocent, Sana Althaf, Kailas, Naren and Siddique are also part of the movie’s supporting cast. Action choreographer Peter Hein, cinematographer Shaji Kumar, art director Prashanth Madhav, editor Sreekar Prasad, composers M Jayachandran, Sam CS and sound designer Resul Pookkutty form the movie’s technical crew.

Antony Perumbavoor is producing Odiyan under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. The movie is expected to hit screens sometime by the end of this year.

Salman Khan’s Dabaang is one of the most popular franchises in Bollywood. Salman plays an eccentric cop, Chulbul Pandey in the series. The first two parts were directed by Abhinav Kashyap and Arbaaz Khan. Reports about the third instalment have been doing the rounds for sometime now, and it has finally been confirmed.

Actor-choreographer-filmmaker Prabhudeva will be directing Dabaang 3. Much to the delight of Bhai’s fans, Prabhudeva revealed this exciting bit of info in a recent interview to Bollywood Hungama.

He is quoted saying, “I was in Mumbai last week to finalise all the details. Yes, I am directing Dabangg 3 for Salman and Arbaaz Khan. Who says no to them? We’ve been closely associated for the longest time. I share a warm friendship with Salman Khan and his brothers. When Salman and Arbaaz asked me to direct Dabangg 3 there was no question of saying no.”

Salman and Prabhudeva have previously teamed up in 2009 for the blockbuster movie Wanted. Prabhudeva has also made other mass entertainers in Bollywood like Rowdy Rathore, R… Rajkumar, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Action Jackson and Singh is Bling. In the interview, Prabhudheva also revealed that Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan and composer duo Sajid-Wajid have been retained for Dabaang 3.

Meanwhile, Prabhudeva’s silent film Mercury, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is gearing up for release next month. Yung Mung Sung, Lakshmi, Oomai Vizhigal, Charlie Chaplin 2 and Khamoshi are his upcoming movies as an actor.

We were the among to report about Pranav Mohanlal teaming up with director Arun Gopy of ‘Ramaleela’ fame. Tomichan Mulakupadam will be producing the movie under the banner of Mulakupadam Films. As per latest reports, this upcoming movie will be a romantic action flick.

Pranav did not have a love angle in Aadhi but here romance will be a major element and a newcomer will be paired opposite him. Director Arun Gopy’s debut film Ramaleela also did not have a proper romance track. So it will be interesting to see how he handles a romantic subject.

The makers are planning to cast a new face as the female lead through auditions. So, after being impressed with a Parkour performing action hero in Aadhi, fans are very much excited to see Pranav’s new avatar as the romantic hero.

Arun Gopy, who is debuting as a scriptwriter with this movie, is currently busy with the pre-production works. Official announcement with the title and details regarding the full cast and crew is expected to be made very soon. It is reported that the movie will start rolling in Kochi by July. Tom Emmatty, who made a successful debut last year with the hit film ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ is now working a movie based on the life of legendary actor Jayan. The movie titled as ‘Star Celebrating Jayan’ is being made as a tribute to Jayan, the first action hero of Malayalam cinema.

Jayan, one of Malayalam Cinema’s first superstars, amazed the Malayali audience with his charisma, powerful dialogue delivery and his daredevilry stunts. He has acted in several blockbuster movies like Sharapancharam, Angadi, Manyshya Mrugam, Aavesham etc.
Unfortunately, Jayan passed away in 1980 while shooting a risky stunt for the movie Kolilakkam.

Jayan is still remembered by millions of Malayalis all across the globe. Even after three decades of him passing away, mimicry artists imitate him in television shows and programmes. Kalidas Jayaram’s Poomaram is perhaps the only move in recent items to have seen so many release postponing. The movie directed by Abrid Shine has been in the making for nearly two years. Shoot commenced in 2016 and was supposed to hit screens by February last year. But it kept delaying due to some unknown reasons. The movie’s long delay is now a topic of trolls in social medias.

Finally, it was announced that the movie will be hitting screens on March 9. When everything seemed set for release, the makers were forced to postpone due to some unknown reasons. But lucky the delay is not long this time as the movie was censored with a clean U last day.

As per latest reports from trustworthy sources, the movie will be releasing on March 15. Despite being under the wraps for such long time, Poomaram is still remembered by the public courtesy the innumerable trolls and the two hit songs – ‘Njanum Njanumentalum’ and ‘Kadavathoru Thoni’.

Poomaram promsies to be a youthful campus based entertainer with a bunch of newcomers. Cinematography is handled by Gnanam and Manoj is editing the movie. Gopi Sunder is handling the background score. The movie is jointly produced by Dr Paul Varghese and director Abrid Shine under the banner of Dr Paul’s Entertainment. Central Pictures will be releasing the movie in Kerala.

After a dream start in 2012 with Vineeth Sreenivasan’s ‘Thattathin Marayathu’, Isha Talwar has not got many meaty roles in Malayalam. Though she has been part of several hit films, her characters did not have enough scope for performance. Looks like she has finally got one in the upcoming movie ‘Ranam’ aka ‘Detroit Crossing’.

Isha is playing a very crucial role in the movie which has Prithviraj in the lead. of Nirmal Sahadev, a former associate of Shyamaprasad and one of the co-writers of Hey Jude, is directing Ranam. Unlike her previous films, where she mostly got to play glam-doll roles, Isha will be seen as a 15-year-old’s mother in Ranam.

Isha should be thanking her stars as the character was initially offered to Mamta Mohandas but she could not do it owing to her busy schedule. Isha plays a middle-aged woman who has a husband who is bored in a marriage and a teenage daughter who is difficult to handle. Her character has several layers and is very prominent in the movie’s storyline.

In a recent interview, Isha she signed the movie not because of the story or her character, but the fact that she could act alongside Prithviraj. The pretty actress is a self-confessed huge fan of Prithviraj.

In the interview to TOI, she is quoted saying, “That moment when the crew said Prithviraj, I said I don’t care what the film or story is about or that I have to play a mom, or just stand in a scene. I really wanted to work with him, and I am glad we could work abroad. We could talk well and I could see how he is a fun person, despite this serious image going on.”

Isha was also bowled over by Prithviraj’s knowledge about cinema. She said “Prithvi eats, breathes and lives cinema and has a thinking mind. I don’t know how much of a life he has beyond cinema, to be honest. He is constantly giving inputs, tweaking dialogues, making the film better.”

Ranam, shot entirely in the US explores the lives of the immigrant community in Detroit, Michigan. Prithviraj plays a Tamil street gang member in the movie, which is inspired by real life incidents. Rahman, Sampath and Ashwin Kumar are also part of the cast.

Prithviraj’s My Story has been in the making for a while now. Shoot was completed only recently and is now in the post production phase. Last day, Mammootty released the movie’s trailer through his official Facebook page. The makers had informed about the trailer release but they did not reveal who will be unveiling it.

Mammootty releasing the trailer of My Story came as a surprise considering the issues that followed after Parvathy voiced her thoughts about how misogyny was glorified in the megastar’s ‘Kasaba’. Parvathy earned the ire of Mammootty’s fans and they launched a unprecedented attack on her on social medias. The result of which reflected on the first song from My Story, ‘Pathungi Pathungi’, which became the most disliked Malayalam song video ever. Now that Mammootty himself has endorsed the movie, let’s hope that fans do not continue their hate campaign against Parvathy.

My Story is directed by debutante Roshni Dinaker. Actor/writer Shankar Ramakrishnan has scripted this movie as a feel good love story set in two time periods – in 1995 and today. The supporting cast includes Manoj K Jayan, Ganesh Venkatraman, Maniyanpilla Raju, Nandu and Sanju Sivaram among others.

Dudley and Vinod Perumal have cranked the camera, and Shaan Rahman is handling the music department in My Story. The movie is being produced by director Roshni Dinaker and OV Dinaker under the banner of Roshni Dinaker Productions.
