Dulquer Salmaan too comes in to the Kerala state film award 2016 race with Mammootty !

State Film Awards of 2016 in Malayalam Cinema is all set to announce tomorrow, and yesterday we reported about the probable artists who has the chance to win the awards. Till yesterday the main runners who are in race for the best actor award was Mammootty for Pathemari, Prithviraj for Ennu Ninte Moideen, Jayasurya for Kumbasaram and Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam and Kunchacko Boban for Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal.

But as per the latest reports, a surprise entry also came to the last round of the best actor awards and it is none other than Dulquer Salmaan for his performance in the film named Charlie which was a super success of last year. Now the stage is set for a father-son fight in the awards as Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan will fight it out against each other as well as against Prithviraj, Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban for the best actor award.

Last year also Dulquer was nominated for the best actor award, for his performance in the Renjith film named Njan. Mammootty was there last year with the film named Munnariyippu directed by Venu which was produced by Renjith. This year Mammootty is there for Pathemari, Written and directed by Salim Ahammad and Dulquer is there for Charlie directed by Martin Prakatt and written by Unni R. The interesting fact is that Mammootty’s nomination last year was for the film named Munnariyippu, which was written by the same Unni R, who had written Charlie the very next year, which helped Mammootty’s son Dulquer to get nominated in this award race.

Prithviraj is said to have more chance to win the award for his performances in films like Ennu Ninte Moideen and Anarkkali as per reports. Kunchacko Boban said to be there with all chance of becoming a dark horse with his film Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal by Dr. Biju. Jayasurya who is there with films like Kumbasaram and Su Su Sudhi vathmeekam, as of now has a chance less than Prithviraj and Mammootty, but we never know what changes may happen in the final hours. Minister Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan will announce the award, tomorrow at 11am.
