The 15-year-old Vaishnav Girish has won scores of hearts with his amazing singing ability. Social media users all across the country are sharing videos and lavishing praise on this teeanage sensation. Thanks to his massive popularity, Vaishnav has now bagged a golden opportunity to share stage with none other than AR Rahman.

According to latest reports, Vaishnav Girish will be performing with the Mozart of Madras in the audio launch function of Tamil superstar Vijay’s upcoming movie Mersal. The movie marks the 100th venture of the famous production house Sri Thenandal Films. Also Vijay and AR Rahman are celebrating 25 years in the industry. These are more than enough reasons to celebrate and hence the makers are organizing a posh audio launch event.

AR Rahman will be performing with a set of singers and musicians in the function. Vaishnav will one among them and he will be singing to Rahman’s tunes amidst thousands of spectators on August 20 in Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

Vaishnav has performed on several reality TV shows in the past. He was the title winner of Surya Singer Season 2, and the third runner up of the second season of Indian Idol Junior in 2015. Recently, he received standing ovation for his singing in the auditions for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champ.

With Mersal, AR Rahman is composing tunes for a Vijay starrer after 10 long years and naturally expectations are sky high among the listeners. Also, its been a while since Rahman has worked on a pucca commercial movie. The recently released single ‘Aalaporan Tamizhan’ has already fetched lakhs of views and is trending virally in social medias. Now, all eyes and ears on August 20.

Soubin Shahir’s debut directorial Parava is gearing up for release next month. The movie stars a set of newcomers along with Dulquer Salmaan in an extended cameo. A new song from the movie has been released by the makers today. Dulquer has lent his voice to this beautiful track composed by Rex Vijayan. Talented young lyricist Vinayak Sasikumar has penned this song.

Parava, as the title suggests, has an interesting connection to birds and it is reportedly about the pigeon racing practiced in the Fort Kochi, Mattanchery regions in Kochi. Kismath fame Shane Nigam, Harisree Ashokan’s son Arjun Ashokan, late actor Sainudeen’s son Dhinil Sainudeen, Siddique, Aashiq Abu, Indrans, Jacob Gregory, Srinda Arhaan and many others are also part of the cast.

Parava is jointly scripted by Soubin Shahir and Muneer Ali. Little Swayamp, noted for his works for the popular music band Thaikkudam Bridge’s Navarasa series, is cranking the camera for this movie. Rex Vijayan is handling the music department. Filmmaker Anwar Rasheed and Shyju Unni are producing this movie under the banner of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments.

We are born with it. Love for our fellow brothers and sisters should be no different. Look within us and we will find it.

The actor is currently awaiting the release of two of his films – Bejoy Nambiar’s Tamil-Malayalam bilingual movie Solo and Soubin Shahir’s Parava. Both the movies are slated to hit screens in September as an Onam release. Besides that, Dulquer has also signed for multiple projects in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages.

Yes, it is the first such attempt in Mollywood where the teaser will be releasing through an audio platform.

Normally, teasers have flashy cuts that either tries to elevate the hero’s mass appeal or give a glimpse of what’s in store. But in Tharangam, the teaser will have no visuals but only music. Sources also inform that the teaser will be released in Facebook and YouTube at 7 PM tomorrow.

The movie directed by debutant Arun Dominic is a black comedy. Tovino is playing the role of sub inspector Padmanabhan. We’re planning to make Aadujeevitham as the biggest global venture that Mollywood has ever come up with: Prithviraj

Prithviraj’s Aadujeevitham is one of the most talked about projects in recent times. This ambitious project to be helmed by ace filmmaker Blessy has been in the planning for some time now. Few months back, Prithviraj had announced that the movie will go on floors in November this year and will be shot over a span of two years.

Aadujeevitham is based on Benyamin’s award winning novel of the same name, which is about the life of an abused migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. In a recent interview to Film Companion, Prithviraj had spilled beans about how the project is shaping up and their idea to make it as a global venture.

He is quoted saying, “Aadujeevitham is a film that is rooted in Malayalam but has a content that will appeal to anybody. Our dream is to make it as the biggest ever global venture that Malayalam cinema has ever come up with. The movie will be made in Malayalam and Hindi. We are trying to make sure that it travels the world as a production from Malayalam.”

Prithviraj is one of the very few actors who are willing to go to any extent to get into the skin of a particular character. Be it developing a chiselled physique to play a stunt man in Diphan’s Hero or learning deep sea diving for playing his part in Anarkali, the actor is game for all.

On similar lines, Prithviraj will be undergoing drastic physical changes for Aadujeevitham. It is about the life of an abused migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. The protagonist Najeeb Mohammed undergoes lot of physical changes in the course of the movie.

To perfect the looks, Prithviraj has alloted nearly one and half years of dates in between his busy career. He has alloted dates from November this year to March 2019 for Aadujeevitham.

The movie will be shot in various schedules through the time span of which he will be undergoing multiple physical transformations. In between the schedules he will be working on his much awaited directorial debut Lucifer, starring Mohanlal in the lead.

As reported by us earlier today, the teaser of director Mohan Raja’s Velaikkaran has been released. Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara play the lead roles in the movie which also marks the debut of Fahadh Faasil in Tamil cinema.

Velaikkaran is a highly anticipated project as some very names are associated with it. Like the director’s previous movie Thani Oruvan, Velaikkaran also deals with a very relevant social issue. Sivakarthikeyan is playing the role of Arivu and Fahadh’s character is named as Aadhi.

Fahadh’s character in the movie has many shades and will appear throughout the film. The director recently revealed that he sketched the powerful negative character only after getting Fahadh on board.

There are different layers to the relationship between the lead characters played by Fahadh and Sivakarthikeyan. It begins as a friendship; there is also a guru-sishya element and it also has a clash of personalities.

Velaikaaran also stars Sneha, Prakash Raj, Vijay Vasanth, Thambi Ramiah, Charlie, RJ Balaji, Rohini, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu and Sathish in supporting roles. Music department is handled by young sensation Anirudh Ravichander. The movie produced by RD Raja’s 24AM Studios is slated to hit screens worldwide on September 29.

We had earlier reported about Jayam Ravi playing the lead in Tik Tik Tik, an upcoming movie publicised as India’s first ever space film. The movie is directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Miruthan fame. Jayam Ravi plays an astronaut in the film which stars Nivetha Pethuraj as the female lead.

Official teaser of the movie was released today by makers via Sony Music India’s YouTube channel. The one minute teaser is highly intriguing and has some stunning visuals. Staying within the financial constraints of Indian cinema, the makes have managed to produce some top notch visual effects.

Jayam Ravi is reportedly playing the role of an employee in Defense Space Division. Singapore based actor Aaron Aziz will be seen as the antagonist in this film. Jayam Ravi’s son Aarav Ravi is making his debut as a child actor with this film. Jaya Prakash, Ramesh Thilak, Arjunan and Vincent Asokan are also part of the supporting cast.

Jayam Ravi is known for his penchant to try out a variety of roles. His last release Vanamagan had him in a tribe’s role and he will be seen as a warrior in the magnum opus Sanagmithra. Tik Tik Tik is his second film with the director after Miruthan, which happened to be the first ever zombie film in Tamil. The upcoming movie has it’s music composed by D Imman and cinematography by S Venkatesh. This big budget movie is produced by V Hitesh Jhabak under the banner of Nemichand Jhabak.

Kamal Haasan had recently picked his list of 70 films that he believes has changed his life. The list included films from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, and Kannada languages that were released after 1947. The column was written for Hindustan Times in accordance with the nation celebrating 70 years of independence this year.

Eight Malayalam movies found its way to the list. Interestingly, the list largely comprised of Kamal’s own films like Nayagan, Apoorva Sahothirargal, Dasavatahram, Anbe Sivam etc. Along with each movie, he also wrote a small note about what his opinion on the film.

The thing that instantly stuck everyone was the note he had written for his film Mahanadi. The movie released in 1994 was directed by Santhana Bharathi and scripted by Kamal Haasan. Kamal in the noted has revealed that the movie was inspired by a real life plot to kidnap his daughter. The actor, however, has refrained from naming his daughter.

Here’s what he has written,

I have never spoken of what prompted me to write Mahanadi. Now my daughters are old enough to understand the ways of this world I can …I guess. My household help, all of them, conspired to kidnap my daughter for ransom. They even did a dry run. By accident I discovered their plan. I was angry, unnerved and ready to kill for my baby’s safety. But I saw sense in time. I was to write a new script and I kept delaying it for a month. Later when I sat down to write, the script wrote itself ….may be assisted by my fear, apprehension and paranoia.

Mahanadi is an emotional story of a man who is caught in a conspiracy and ends up in prison. His daughter meanwhile is kidnapped and sold into sex work. The movie featured Kamal, Suganya, Cochin Haneefa and Poornam Viswanathan in major roles. Mahandi won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil in the year 1994.

As we all know, Fahadh Faasil is making his Tamil debut this year with Thani Oruvan director Mohan Raja’s upcoming movie titled as Velaikkaran. The talented actress is now staging a comeback to Mollywood through Biju Menon’s upcoming movie titled as Rosapoo.

Vinu Joseph, a former associate of Rajeev Ravi, is making his debut with this movie. Rosapoo falls under the category of realistic-satire. Anjali’s character in the movie will be a performance oriented one. She was chosen to play the role as the makers wanted someone who would look the part as well as perform well. Her character in the movie is half Tamilian and half Kannadiga.

Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothen play pivotal roles in the movie dark comedy. Interestingly, the movie will also have 143 characters with prominence to each one of them. Sunny Wayne was also initially part of this project but he recently opted out due to date issues. The movie is jointly written by Vinu Joseph and Santhosh Echikkanam.

Shibu Thameens, who has produced big budget movies like Vijay’s Puli and Vikram’s Irumugan is funding this movie. This is his second production venture in Malayalam after Dulquer Salmaan’s ABCD.
