Mammootty did not appear for me as a lawyer: Indraja

Recently several online medias reported that Mammootty appeared as a lawyer to actress Indraja for fighting a case. As per these reports, Indraja had been fighting a case against her manager regarding some financial issues for the past two years and Mammootty had represented her as her lawyer.

It is well known that Mammootty is a qualified lawyer who practised for two years before getting into cinema. But it turns out that this story of the megastar appearing for her one- time co-star as a lawyer was completely false.

In a recent interview to The News Minute, Indraja has dismissed these reports as completely baseless. Apparently, she is not even aware of any such case.

Indraja is a noted actress who has appeared in all the South Indian languages. She has shared screen space with Mammootty in films like Chronic Bachelor and The God Man.

Samantha-Naga Chaitnaya wedding date revealed

After a lot of speculations, the wedding date of celebrity pair Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya has finally been released. According to reports from Tollywood media, they will enter wedlock on October 6.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya got engaged on January 29 of this year. There were reports that the duo will be getting married in a foreign location but it has now been confirmed that the wedding will be held in Hyderabad itself as it will be difficult for family and friends.

On the work front, Samantha is busy as ever working on as many as six films simultaneously. In Tanil she is working on Vijay 61, Irumbu Thirai and Aneethi Kathaigal. In Telugu she has committed for
Raju Gari Gadhi 2, Ram Charan’s yet to be titled movie with director Sukumar untitled project and the biopic on legendary actress Savitri, directed by Nag Ashwin.

Kajal Agarwal to replace Tamannaah in the Tamil remake of Queen

Actor/producer Thiagarajan had bagged the remake rights of acclaimed Bollywood movie Queen. He had announced that the movie will be remade in all South Indian languages. Tamannah Bhatia was initially roped in to play the lead in the Tamil version but we now hear that the makers have approached Kajal Agarwal. Eventhough she is yet to sign officially, buzz is that she has already given her nod. Brutish beauty Amy Jackson will be reprising Lisa Haydon’s character in all the four South Indian versions.

Queen, directed by Vikas Bahl, is widely regarded as one of the best women empowerment movies ever in Indian cinema. It is the story of a naive young woman, who sets out on a honeymoon trip alone after being ditched by her fiancee. Kangana Ranaut’s portrayal of Rani in the movie won her accolades from all quarters including a National Award and the Filmfare Award for the Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Reportedly, the director of the Tamil remake has also been changed. Veteran actress Revathi was supposed to direct the movie but she has now been replaced by actor turned filmmaker Ramesh Aravind. He is also helming the Telugu and Kannada versions.

Ramesh Aravind made his directorial debut in 2015 with the critically acclaimed Kamal Haasan movie Uttama Villain. He has already started shooting the Kannda remake of Queen starring Parul Yadav in the lead. The team plans to wrap up the shoot of the Tamil version by the end of this year.

Revathi was also supposed to direct the Malayalam verison of Queen with Amala Paul in the lead. However, there is still no word regarding the same.

Suriya and his brother Karthi to team up

National award winning filmmaker Pandiraj is all set to wear the director’s hat after a gap over two years. His last release was the Simbu- Nayanthara starrer Idhu Namma Aalu. The director’s next will have Karthi in the lead.

The movie will be produced by Karthi’s brother Suriya’s own production house 2D Entertainment. This will be Suriya’s second production venture with Pandiraj after the critically acclaimed Pasanga 2 and first with his young brother Karthi.

Meanwhile, Karthi has signed for two other projects. Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja directed by Prabhu Deva and Sathuranga Vettai fame Vinoth’s Theeran Athikaram Ondru. The Prabhu Deva directorial also stars Vishal in the lead role.

Karthi’s last release Kaatru Veliyidai with legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam evoked extreme response from the audience. It was largely opened to mixed reviews and failed to create an impact in the box office.

Hollywood model parks will be designed with the props used in the making of Mahabharata

Indian cinema’s most expensive project The Mahabharata is still in it’s nascent stages. The Mahabharata aka Randamoozham will be made on an astronomical budget of Rs 1000 crores. Renowned ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon will be directing this movie and UAE based Indian businessman Dr BR Shetty is producing this magnum opus.

The makers recently had a press meet in Abu Dhabi where they opened up about their vision for their project. They assured that many leading actors and technicians from India and across the globe will be associated with this project. Mohanlal has been confirmed to play the central role of Bheeman in this epic movie.

This magnum opus will be shot in over a period of two years in locations like Abu Dhabi, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Sri Lanka and many other places. The makers are planning to convert these shooting locations to Hollywood model parks after their filming.

The massive movie sets, which will include elaborate forests, into a tourist destination, where the movie would be screened all through the year. Director VA Shrikumar in a recent interview to Radio Mango UAE elaborated more about their plans.

He is quoted saying, “This is a global project. It is not only the most expensive Indian movie, it is also the costliest Asian as well as the most expensive non-English movie. This is a historic project as Mahabaratha is being made as a movie on such a big scale for the first time. So, it’s our duty to do something so that people will remember it for ages. We will be maintaining the sets we erect at particular places and convert it into something like a monument. Lavish sets of palaces, chariots and weapons used for shooting will all be treasured. People can relish the experience in these parks. All day long there will be screening of the movie, it’s making videos, researches and all the hardwork that has gone behind the project can be watched by the visitors.

Shoot for the movie will commence by August, next year. It will be made as a multilingual in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English. This epic movie will be filmed in two parts and would have a worldwide release in 2020. The second part of the movie would be released from 90 days of the first part.
