Who will be the hero in Alphonse Puthren’s Telugu debut? Prabhas or Allu Arjun!

Alphonse Puthren is prepping up for his first straight Tamil movie. The director was on a break for almost two years after giving the blockbuster movie Premam.

Today marked the fifth anniversary of his debut movie Neram. It was a bilingual made in Tamil and Malayalam with Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim as the leads. The director, who is a very active social media user, updated a Facebook post related to the fifth anniversary of Neram. In the comments section, one of his followers asked Alphonse about any plans of doing a movie in Telugu.

Alphonse replied that he will surely do one. The director already has a story ready for his Telugu movie. Apparently, he wants to make the movie with Brahmanandam as one of the leads. For the other main lead he wants either Prabhas or Allu Arjun. He believes that either of them can play that role but the other can only be done by Brahmanandam. Alphonse added that he is in no hurry as he has to learn a lot of technical aspects for that film.

Alphonse Puthren is already a popular face down South after the success of his first two movies – Neram and Premam. Premam, especially was a massive success all over South India. So it will be really exciting if he can rope in big stars like Allu Arjun or Prabhas for his Telugu debut.

Regarding his next Tamil movie, the director is yet to officially announce the cast or crew details. Just like his previous two films, a newcomer will be playing the female lead. More details are expected in the coming days.

Shah Rukh Khan is all praise for SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali

The astounding success of Baahubali has taken Indian cinema to a global level. The scale at which the movie was made is on par with some of the best Hollywood films of the same genre. Accolades continues to flow in for SS Rajamouli and his team.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has always stressed on the importance of technology in taking Indian cinema to greater heights. He recently said that the success of a movie like Baahubali is an example of how there’s no glory without guts.

Shah Rukh Khan is yet to see Baahubali 2 yet but is all praise about SS Rajamouli’s vision. He found Baahubali 1 extremely inspiring and hopes that this holds true for the second.

He is quoted saying to IANS in an email interview,
I saw Baahubali part one. Unfortunately, I have not seen part two yet. It’s an extremely inspiring film and I think it holds true for part two as well. Not just the success with numbers but the vision, just the thought… No guts, no glory… and Baahubali stands for that“.

The actor also had a word about how technology will always play an important part in filmmaking.
Technology, of course, will always be a huge part of cinema. I believe that. I would never discount the fact that other kinds of films can also be made. They’re fantastic and beautiful… Before technology came in, we still made wonderful films.

But if you want to create that big cinema and that big dream to sell to a big number of people, you have to have guts to take that storytelling on and say it in the biggest, nicest, boldest way possible. Baahubali stands for that.

It’s not just the success of Baahubali, but the fact that there was someone making Baahubali part one. Mr S.S. Rajamouli is always inspirational… Whichever film he’ll make. It’s heartening and encourages every filmmaker. Me too. And there are some other directors, producers also who do that.” (sic)

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has emerged as the highest grossing Indian film. It became the first Indian movie to earn more than 1000 crores from the box office and is now nearing the Rs 1500 crore mark from the worldwide box office.
