Niranjana Anoop will be next seen opposite Dhyan Sreenivasan

Niranjana Anoop, who made her debut in 2015 through Ranjith- Mohanlal team’s Loham is now bagging some solid roles. After playing a cute high school student in Mammootty’s Puthan Panam, she has now signed for her next.

Niranjana Anoop will be seen paired opposite Dhyan Sreenivasan for an upcoming movie directed by Thomas Sebastian. The actress shared the happy news with her followers through her official Facebook page.

Earlier this year, Niranjana was noted for her performance as Arundhathi, a socially committed law student in Manju Warrier’s C/O Saira Banu. She played Shane Nigam’s romantic interest in the movie. Her performance as the bold and vibrant Arundathi was well appreciated by the critics.

Niranjana, who is also director Ranjith’s niece essayed the role of Mia, a Plus Two student in the his latest outing Puthan Panam. Her upcoming movie with Dhyan Sreenivasan is touted to be a clean commercial entertainer. The yet to be titled film’s story is written by Anoop Joseph and scripted by Dhyan Sreenivasan, marking his debut as a scenarist. The movie went on floors very recently.

Baahubali 2 First Day Collection Report

The much awaited action fantasy drama Baahubali 2 The Conclusion was released yesterday. The movie opened to astounding response worldwide. In India alone, the movie was released in 6500 screens.

Official collection reports have not yet been released by the makers but trustworthy trade experts like Taran Adarsh and Ramesh Bala inform that the movie has taken a monstrous opening in the box office.

Taran Adarsh tweeted that the hindi dubbed verison of the movie has done a better bussiness than recent Bollywood blockbusters like Sultan (Rs 36.54 cr) and Dangal (Rs 29.78 cr). His tweet reads,

“Truly SENSATIONAL! As per *early tracking and estimates* #Baahubali2 opens BIGGER than#Sultan [₹ 36.54 cr] and #Dangal [₹ 29.78 cr]. HINDI”

Baahubali 2 The Conclusion was released simultaneously in four languages-Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. The combined collections on the opening day from all the four languages is estimated to be more than 100 crores. In Hindi alone the movie is reported to have grossed around 50 crores.

In Kerala, the distributors Global United Media screened the movie in a whopping 300+ screens. Almost all the shows in the state were running to housefull audience. Official reports of the Kerala collections have not yet been released but it is expected to have done a business of over 5 crores.

Prabhas is currently basking in the glory of the excellent response that his latest outing Baahuabli 2: The Conclusion has been getting. This SS Rajamouli directorial is the second installment in the hugely popular Baahubali franchise. In the sequel, he continues to play the dual role of Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali along with Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and a host of other actors.

The actor was recently in Kerala for the movie’s promotions. He had a chat session with Manorama when he was asked about his opinion on Malayalam movies. He instantly replied back that he shares huge respect for the two pillars of Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal and Mammootty.

He mentioned that Premam was the last Malayalam movie he watched. Prabhas said he thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie and has seen it 3-4 times. He also added that the movie was a huge success in the Telugu speaking states, enjoying a theatrical run of 50 days.

Premam, directed by Alphonse Puthren and starring Nivin Pauly was a coming of age rom-com released in 2015. The movie was a blockbuster success not only in Kerala but all over South India. The movie was also remade in Telugu with the same starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead. Telugu version of Premam directed by Chandoo Mondeti was a successful affair in the box office.

Baahubali 2 multiplex issue solved in Kerala

After a wait that lasted for 21 long months, the most anticipated Indian movie in recent years, Baahuabli 2: The Conclusion has hit screens today. The movie has released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages in 6500 screens all over India.

While the movie was released in all the major multiplex chains in India, they refused to release the movie in Kerala owing to prevailing issues with the distributors. Popular multiplexes including PVR and Cinepolis did not release the movie in Kerala due to the issue with United Global Media, who distributed the movie in the state.

All the multiplex audience in the state can now heave sigh of relief as the existing issue between the distributors and the multiplexes have been resolved. The movie will be screened in all the multiplexes from April 28 evening onwards.

Meanwhile, the movie is getting massive response from all the release centres. According to the critics, the movie has managed to live up to the humongous expectations. Tickets are being sold like hot cakes with several online ticket booking sites crashing due to the unprecedented rush to grab the tickets.

This SS Rajamouli directorial is the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning released in 2015. Trade experts inform that the sequel will match up to or even better the business done by the first installment.

Over the past few weeks, social medias were flooded with reports about the possibility of a fifth installment in the popular CBI series. Now, the director of the franchise K Madhu himself has confirmed that the next part is indeed happening.

K Madhu confirmed the news through his official Facebook page. The CBI series started off in 1988 with the blockbuster movie Oru CBI Diary Kurippu. Next year, the second part Jagratha was released which was also a huge commercial success.

Exactly 15 years later in 2004, the trio of Mammootty-SN Swami-K Madhu teamed up for the third installment, Sethurama Iyer CBI. Next year again they joined hands for the fourth part Nerariyan CBI. The franchise enjoys huge popularity and Mammootty’s character Sethurama Iyer enjoys a cult status.

There are reports that the fifth part will be made on a big scale. Reportedly, the film will be set outside Kerala in Delhi and Hyderabad. If the reports are to be believed, this will be the first time the CBI team is moving out of the State for an investigation.

Mohanlal was going through a golden run with a hat-trick of massive blockbusters till the release of 1971 Beyond Borders. The movie, directed by Major Ravi was a disappointing affair at the box office.

Critics also turned the movie for it’s poor direction and age old screenplay. The movie, released during the Vishu season, had to compete with several other biggies like The Great Father, Puthan Panam, Sakhavu and even Take Off.

Unlike Mohanlal’s last few movies, the makers of 1971 Beyond Borders did not invest much on the promotional side and hence the hype was also very minimal. All this backfired and the movie is already being held over in many theatres across the State.

However, Mohanlal fans still have reasons to rejoice as his next release Villain is shaping up well. The movie’s official teaser was released recently and has skyrocketed the expectations. This B Unnikrishnan directorial is highly anticipated as it features some big names both in the cast and crew department.

Villain stars Mohanlal in the role of Mathew Manjooran, an ex-cop. Popular Tamil star Vishal, Manju Warrier, Raashi Khanna, Telugu actor Srikanth and Hansika Motwani are also part of the cast. Manoj Paramahamsa is wielding the camera and it is also the first Malayalam movie to be shot completely in 8K resolution. Rockline Venkatesh is funding this big budget movie.

We will have to wait and watch whether Villain will be able to make up for the collosal disappointment of 1971 Beyond Borders.

Controversy’s favourite kid Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK has slammed SS Rajamouli and his movie Baahubali 2 in a series of tweets in the name of reviewing the movie. KRK in his Twitter space has written that he found Baahuabli 2 as a cartoon and went on to abuse director SS Rajamouli.

KRK’s reaction was expected as he thrives on negative publicity and is known lambasting any movie irrespective of it being good or bad. His series of tweets reads,

“Sir @ssrajamouli Sahi Chutiya Kata Public Ka! What the fuck is this sir? I came 2theatre 2watch film, not cartoons in the name of #Bahubali2

What a Chutiyapa, Wahiyat, crap, headache film #Bahubali2! What a direction sir @ssrajamouli! You deserve award of chutiya director of 2017.

Dulquer Salmaan was recently spotted in an uber cool avatar with long locks and beard. He was shooting for bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming bilingual movie Solo. The movie is in the final stages of shooting and is slated to release in July this year.

Solo, made in Tamil and Malayalam will have five female leads. One of them is played by Kabali girl Sai Dhansika. Earlier there were reports about Dulquer and Dhansika teaming up for a romantic movie directed by Anjali Menon but the project could not materialize.

In Solo, which is also her debut Malayalam movie, Dhansika is playing the role of a dancer. Ann Augustine, Arthi Venkatesh, Sheelu Abraham and Sruthi Hariharan are the other heroines in the movie.

Both Bejoy Nambiar and Dulquer Salmaan had earlier mentioned that Solo will not be an usual run of the mill kind of movie. It belongs to multiple genres and will have an unique style and treatment

Manoj K Jayan, Soubin Shahir, Jinu Joseph, Renji Panicker, Anson Paul, will be seen in pivotal roles in the film. Abraham Mathew is producing this film under the banner of Abaam Movies in association with Getaway Films.

Mammootty’s mass thriller with Ajai Vasudev starts rolling

Mammootty’s next with Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev has started rolling. The movie is scripted by Udhayakrishna, his next after delivering the all time blockbuster Pulimurugan.

The movie is a campus thriller that features Mammootty as a strict college professor. According to the director, his is a larger than life character. The movie revolves around events that turn out after such a professor lands in a college full of spoilt students.

Unni Mukundan and Kasaba fame Varalaxmi Sarathkumar are essaying the roles of police officers in the movie. Unni Mukundan, who has earlier worked with Mammootty in Bombay March 12 and Rajadhiraja, recently wrote in his Facebook page,

“Gonna start shooting for Ajai Vasudev Movie Starring The Megastar in the Lead Role ! Happiness is to enjoy film making with Mammukka. Prayers and Support (sic).”

Gokul Suresh, Mahima Nambiar, Poonam Bajwa, Mukesh, Captain Raju, Kalabhavan Shajon, Ganesh Kumar, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Santhosh Pandit, Biju Kuttan, Salim Kumar and Maqbool Salmaan are also part of the cast. A new production house Royal Cinemas owned by CH Muhammed will be funding this movie.

Shaji Kumar, who handled the camera in Pulimurugan is the DOP. Anal Arasu will be choreographing the high octane stunt sequences in the movie. The makers are eyeing to release the movie for Onam this year.
