The official teaser of Mohanlal’s upcoming crime thriller Villain was released yesterday. Ever since the release, the teaser has been trending virally in social medias. As of now, the teaser has fetched more than 3 million views and is also the fastest to reach the landmark achieving it in a record 22 hours time.

The record for fastest 3 million views was previously held by Mammootty’s The Great Father, which took 24 hours to reach the mark. Earlier Villain had also pipped the Mammootty starrer to clock one million views in a record 3 hours time.

In the current scenario, social media views is one of the major factors that contribute to the pre release hype of a movie. The Great Father teaser is currently the most watched in Mollywood, so we will have to wait and see whether Villain can break that record.

Baahuabli 2 Review : A 3 hour show of SS Rajamouli’s awe inspiring vision

Baahuabli 2 Review : A 3 hour show of SS Rajamouli’s awe inspiring vision

So the year long wait is finally over as the most awaited Indian movie of the year, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has hit screens today. The first installment released in 2015 was a nationwide blockbuster and hence the sequel is releasing amid humongous expectations. Let’s take a look at whether the movie could live up to all that.

The movie kick starts from where the first part ended. Sathyaraj’s Kattappa is narrating the story of Amarendra Baahubali to his son Mahendra Baahubali. Cutting back to the flashback, Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan) announces Amarendra Baahubali as the new emperor after decimating the Kalakeya clan. She asks Baahuabli and his trusted aid Kattappa to take a visit around the kingdom to learn about the problems faced by the natives. Baahubali and Kattappa dress themselves as commoners and visit various areas. During the visit, Baahubali happens to meet Devasena (Anushka Shetty) and falls in love with her. The movie evolves from that point and on the course of the narration sheds light on all the answered questions that the first part threw at us, including the biggest of all ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali?’

SS Rajamouli’s is a true visionary. His imagination levels have no boundaries as he tries to bring on screen things that one does not even dream of. But the problem is the VFX works could not match up to his level of imagination. There are quite a few scenes in the movie that point out unpleasantly due to the shoddy VFX works. We felt that the team should have put in more hardwork to deliver a quality output since this is one movie that the whole country has been looking forward to with bated breath. One could not help but wonder why if a movie like Pulimurugan made on a budget of Rs 25 crores had quality VFX works but not Baahubali, the most expensive Indian movie to have released till date.

The movie on a whole is totally entertaining and unlike the first part has some comedy scenes in the initial half. There are equal doses of humour, emotions, romance and action. The suspense behind why Kattappa killed Baahubali is smarty laced around the screenplay without wasting too much time. MM Keeravani and his music is awesome as always and so is KK Senthil Kumar’s stunning cinematography.

Coming to the performance side, Prabhas and Rana have put their heart and soul for the movie. There is hardly anything that they haven’t done for the Baahuabli series. Tamannah as Avanthika had less of screen time this time as the plot is more centred around Ramya Krishnan’s Sivagami and Anushka’s Devasena, who both were brilliant to say the least. Another praiseworthy performance was from actor Subbaraju. Sathyaraj, Nasser and all the other supporting actors have played their parts well.

In a nutshell, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion truly lives up to the sky high expectations. This SS Rajamouli directorial is certain to set the cash registers ringing worldwide like never before. Try to catch it at the earliest before someone throws in the spoilers.

Would like to act in a Mohanlal-Mammootty starrer: Rana Daggubati

Rana Daggubati is an household name all over India thanks to the humongous success of Baahubali and the impact that his character Bhallala Deva left in the viewer’s mind. Rana fitted the bill perfectly as the gigantic and masculine Bhallala Deva who locked horns with the equally towering Baahuabli, played by Prabhas.

Rana is now a popular face across the country and has already made a mark in Tamil and Hindi film circles. The actor was recently in Kerala for the promotions of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

In a recent chat session with Mathrubhumi, he thanked the Malayali audience for the love they have been showering on the Baahuabli team. The first installment, released in 2015 was a huge success in Kerala registering huge numbers at the box office.

Rana urged the Malayali audience to keep supporting and enjoy the movie from theatres. When quizzed about why he is yet to make an appearance in Malayalam cinema, Rana said that he is eager to act in a Malayalam movie but finds language as a big concern.

Nevertheless, Rana enjoys watching Malayalam movies. In fact, he reprised the role played by Fahadh Faasil in the Tamil verison of Anjali Menon’s Bangalore Days. He also expressed his wish to act in a Mohanlal-Mammootty starrer.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, directed by SS Rajamouli, is all set to hit screens worldwide tomorrow (April 28). The movie is releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam simultaneously. Advance bookings have already started and the tickets are being sold out in record time.

After Mohanlal, KRK launches attack on Aamir Khan

Days after tweeting derogatory comments against Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK has launched an attack on Aamir Khan.

KRK, a self proclaimed film critic has posted a series of tweets against Aamir Khan trolling him for receiving an award from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

75th Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards was recently held in Mumbai on April 24. Aamir Khan, Lata Mangeshkar and many other eminent personalities were present for the event. Aamir Khan won the award for the best movie for his movie Dangal.

KRK took a dig at Aamir Khan for attending the event. He wrote on his Twitter space,

It’s proof that BJP has scared our stars so much that they even can dance in the functions of RSS.

KRK continued that before receiving the award from Mohan Bhagwat, Aamir should have died,

Bhai Jaan @aamir_khan agar Aap Main, 1% Bhi Insaniyat Baaki Hoti, Toh Aap Mohan Bhagwat Ji Se Award Lene Se Pahle, Mar Jana PASAND Karte.

Aur Haan bhai Jaan @aamir_khan Agar Abhi Bhi Thodi Bahut Sharam Baaki hai, Toh Samandar Main Doob Maro.

I just want to ask all those Bhakts who called @aamir_khan #Deshdrohi that is Aamir Khan #Deshbhakt now?

New Deshbhakt Aamir khan is proof dat 2day he is only Deshbhakt who supports BJP n RSS n all others r #Deshdrohi! Hitler was doing dat only.

Last week, KRK was in the new columns after he made derogatory comments about actor Mohanlal following the announcement about him playing the character Bheem in The Mahabaratha, which is said to be the most expensive Indian movie ever. Malayali social media users spewed abuses at KRK before he finally apologized and took down the posts.
