Scriptwriter Udayakrishna who had penned the golden movie Pulimurugan steps into Film Distribution through Mammootty-Ajai Vasudev untitled campus movie. Udayakrishna who is also the scriptwriter of the movie had announced the official launch of the company earlier. The company named UK Uday Krishna Studios works with it’s head office at PF Road, Ernakulam.

He had earlier worked with Sibi K. Thomas as a duo in scriptwriting and had produced movies like Mattupetti Machan, Runway, Pulival Kalyanam, Twenty 20, Pokkiri Raja, Christian Brothers, etc. Later the duo had a split and Udayakrishna penned Pulimurugan alone while Sibi is all set for his debut directorial. Mammootty-Ajai Vasudev flick is his second independent script.

We had also seen earlier people like Lal Jose, Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor in cinema who had turned distributors. Lal Jose owns LJ Films Pvt. Ltd. and Mohanlal along with Antony Perumbavoor owns Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainment.

The current schedule of Mammootty-Ajai Vasudev movie progresses at Fatima Matha College, Kollam. The team had recently buzzed the social medias by announcing actor Santhosh Pandit would be seen in a pivotal role. Apart from him Gokul Suresh Gopi, Unni Mukundan, Mukesh would play important characters. The movie starring 3 heroines Poonam Bajwa, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Mahima Nambiar would hit theaters this Onam season.

Bollywood actor Kamaal Rashid Khan popularly know as KRK who had recently tweeted on Mohanlal playing the role on Bheeman in the Hindu epic movie The Mahabharata is facing rather a bad time on social medias. KRK who had insulted Mohanlal by comparing him as Chotta Bheem, a cartoon character on basis of his size received lots of re tweets following.

After the Mohanlal fans had trolled the star online Mammootty fans have now come into play by targeting the star’s Facebook and Twitter handles. The fans have commented abusives against him and have posted heroic images of Mohanlal. The fans have also questioned that before putting up such stupid posts you should at least watch a film of him to understand where you stand. It is also seen that this is not the first time the star has posted such hilarious posts and tweets. He constantly post movie reviews which are not reliable and misleading.

Mohanlal had announced that he be be playing Bheeman in the Hindu epic days back. The movie which is the second costliest movie in Asia and costliest in India is funded by business tycoon BR Shetty. The movie is penned by MT Vasudevan Nair based on his Award winning novel Randamoozham. The movie is said to commence shooting by September 2018 and would release as two parts in 2020.

MT Vasudevan Nair’s Randamoozham is all set to be dramatized visually by VA Shrikumar through the complete actor Mohanlal. The costliest ever made movie in India would portray Mohanlal as Bheeman. BR Shetty is the producer of this Hindu epic investing a huge amount of Rs. 1000 crores. The movie which goes on floor by 2020 as two parts will begin shoot by September 2018.

The director who had recently given an interview to a FM radio had emphasised on the importance of casting. He said “The Mahabharata will not only star Bheeman, it is an important scripture of our land and would comprise of many other pivotal roles and characters and therefore we require a stellar cast from various industries”

“Casting Mammootty in one of my films was always my dream. There is a role in The Mahabharata which is perfectly apt for the Megastar, but our crew has never yet contacted him. And tomorrow if you see him portraying a character in the movie that’s never a surprise element. Another thought which had arose in my mind is casting Hrithik Roshan or Mahesh Babu as Sreekrishna in the flick. Prithviraj is yet another actor who should be part of this biggie. A final cast list would be out soon describing each and every actors in the movie” he added.

He had also mentioned the importance of the movie in the present scenario. It is the second costliest movie made in Asia and the costliest in India. Even the villagers in Kerala are tired of watching Troy, Gladiator, etc. so the movie should come up with a much better making method than them. The team had already roped in an excellent and brilliant crew for doing all technical works.

The movie based on the Hindu epic Mahabharatha is told from the point of view of Bheemasenan. It was earlier reported than Big B Amitabh Bachchan was approached to play Bheemasenan. It was also said that a visual effects company from Poland is handling the same and Peter Hein was roped in for stunt choreography. VA Shrikumar will be seen teaming up with Mohanlal for a 3D movie Odiyan funded by Antony Perumbavoor before The Mahabharata.

Mohanlal will be teaming up with VA Shrikumar to play Bheeman for The Mahabharata penned by MT Vasudevan Nair. The movie which is made on a whopping 1000 crores budget is funded by business tycoon BR Shetty. The movie is said to begin shooting by September 2018 and would go on floors by 2020 as two parts.

Recently the director who had talked about the ambitious project to a news portal had expressed his views. He said “The movie boasts a huge budget but would also have bigger aspects apart from the budget. I believe Mohanlal sir and MT Vasudevan Nair sir would bring the Oscar to India for this flick!”

“I had bought the script of Randamoozham from MT sir for a contract of making it as a film within 15 years, but it would have a 2020 release. All the technical works of the movie have kick started. MT had the vision of making Randamoozham a cinema now or later” he added.

The Mahabarata would also witness some big names from around the globe as part of it’s cast and crew. The casting process is being managed by an international company and is moving on in a brisk pace. Apart from some big names from Indian cinema, many actors from Hollywood would also be sharing screen space with Mohanlal. The news soon spread as wildfire as it is the most expensive movie ever made in the Indian industry. Lately, Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly know as KRK who had acted in films like Deshdrohi and a small part in Ek Villain had used Twitter to publicly insult the complete actor. KRK comparing Mohanlal to Chotta Bheem, a cartoon character on basis of his size asked him how he could portray Bheeman in Mahabharata and also questioned Mohanlal on why wasting the money of BR Shetty for such a project.

Veteran actor Baiju, who was away from movies for a long while, has made an impressive comeback with two recent releases Puthan Panam and Sakhavu. Both the movies featured him in diverse roles through which he once again showed his versatility.

Humour has always been his forte. Not many can forget the cunning and witty coolie Kannappan in the 1998 comedy entertainer Mattupetti Machan. He is also noted for his performance in movies like Uppukandam Brothers, Sthreedhanam, Commissioner, Arjunan Pillayum Anchu Makkalum and many other films of the 90s.

After a brief gap, he was offered solid roles in Murali Gopy- Arun Kumar Aravind duo’s Ee Adutha Kalathu and Left Right Left. His role in the former, Watson Bhai caught the attention of the audience. In Left Right Left, he played the role of advocate Preman, a very close aide of protagonist Jayan played by Indrajith. His dialogue, “theernada nee theernu”, from the movie is very popular in social medias and is still used as a catch phrase among friends.

In Puthan Panam, he played the role of Kunjappan, a character with negative touch and spontaneous humour. Some of his dialogues and quirky dialogue delivery was very impressive.

In his next release Sakhavu, Baiju has played the role of Garuda Kankaani, a cold hearted negative role Baiju’s role was kept under the wraps and most were unable to recognize the actor. His portions are set in the 80s. His balded look and powerful voice helps the audience to note me once again.

Let’s hope that Baiju is casted in more such wonderful movies that can help in displaying his impeccable acting skills.

SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated epic action drama Baahubali 2 is all set to hit screens worldwide on the 28th of April. Thanks to the humongous success of the first installment, the sequel is eagerly awaited by audience all over the country.

The Baahubali series is a result of perseverance and continuous hardwork for five years from the whole cast and crew. Actors Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in particular, have put their heart and sweat to play the lead roles in the movie. They are now reaping it’s benefits as they enjoy a countrywide popularity.

Ever since the release of Baahubali: The Beginning, Prabhas has been getting many big offers from Bollywood but he turned them down to concentrate on the sequel. But according to latest reports, Prabhas is in talks with Karan Johar, who co-produced and distributed the Hindi version of the Baahubali series, for his Bollywood debut.

According to these reports, Karan Johar is trying to rope in SS Rajamouli to direct Prabhas’s debut Bollywood outing. “Karan has been encouraging Rajamouli to do a Hindi film after Baahubali. They will team up to launch Prabhas in Bollywood,” a source told DNA.

Incidentally, Prabhas was seen in a brief appearance in Ajay Devgn’s Action Jackson, directed by Prabhu Deva. An official confirmation regarding Prabhas’s Bollywood movie is still awaited.

The recently released trailer for upcoming Malayalam movie Queen is trending across social media platforms. The trailer showcases the story of mechanical engineering students. A bunch of newcomers are playing the lead roles in the movie.

The trailer struck a chord with the youngsters in the State and that is evident from the overwhelming response for the trailer. The combined views in YouTube and Facebook is fast approaching the 25 lakh mark. This kind of response is normally seen for superstar movies. This is perhaps the first time that a Malayalam trailer featuring newcomers is trending in YouTube.

Queen comprises of a rookie team in both the cast and crew section. It is directed by Dijo Jose Antony and written by newbies Sharis Mohammed and Jebin Joseph Antony. The movie is expected to hit screens by June this year.

Queen revolves around the story of a girl who joins mechanical engineering, a stream which is generally considered as boys only. Jakes Bejoy is handling the music department while Vishnu Sarma is welding the camera. Sagar Dass is in charge of the edits.

The movie is produced by Arabian Dreams and Entertainment headed by Rinshad Vellodathil and Shibu K Moideen.

Sunny Wayne’s last release Alamara got a lukewarm response from the audience. The movie, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas was opened to mostly negative reviews by the critics.

The negative reviews have reflected on the box office collections also. The movie has flopped at the box office managing to gross only Rs 3.90 crores from Kerala. The makers might be able to break even with the rights obtained from satellite and other rights.

Alamara is Sunny Wayne’s third movie with Midhun after Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu and Ann Maria Kalipilanu. Story for Alamara is written by newbie Mahesh Gopal while John Manthrikkal has written the screenplay.

Sunny Wayne and model turned actress Aditi Ravi played the lead roles in the movie. Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup, Kammatipadam fame Manikandan Achari, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrans and Sudhi Koppa also feature in supporting roles.

Satheesh Kurup cranked the camera while Sooraj S Kurup composed the music for the film. Lijo Paul handled the edits. The movie is produced under the banner of Full On Studios.

Prithviraj’s debut directorial Lucifer starring Mohanlal in the lead has been in the news for a long time. The movie was first annouced last year and has been ever since been in the midst of all sorts of speculations.

Mohanlal’s own production house Aashirvad Cinemas is producing this movie which is scripted by actor/writer Murali Gopy. Recently, the team held an official press meet where they announced that the movie will go on floors by May next year.

Prithviraj in recent Facebook post revealed that the script works for Lucifer have been completed. He informed that the script has come out amazingly well. The makers have also assembled a team of world-class technicians for the film.

Murali Gopy has already proved his mettle as a writer with some of his works like Left Right Left, Ee Adutha Kaalathu and 1 by Two. His next release will be Tiyaan, directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar.

Apart from scripting the movie, Murali Gopy has also acted in Tiyaan along with Prithviraj and Indrajith. Murali Gopy is currently scripting another movie that will again have Prithviraj in the lead. Arun Kumar Aravind will be directing this Prithviraj starrer.
