Allu Sirish about Dulquer Salmaan and Nivin Pauly

Allu Sirish, brother of popular Telugu star Allu Arjun recently made his Mollywood debut through Major Ravi’s war drama 1971 Beyond Borders. In his debut movie itself the actor had the opportunity to share screen space with Mohanlal. Allu Sirish played the role of Lieutenant Chinmay, one of three major characters in the movie.

The actor in a recent interview shared about his admiration for Malayali youth stars Nivin Pauly and Dulquer Salmaan. Allu Sirish said, “Nivin Pauly is my favourite among the current generation of actors in Malayalam. I have watched some his movies like 1983, Neram, Premam and Bangalore Days. I wanted to watch Oru Vadakkan Selfie, but I will be watching it soon. Next time I will watch it (sic).

He also talked about Dulquer Salmaan whom he rates as a very good actor. “I like Dulquer Salmaan’s movies. I have watched a lot of his films. I have seen Usthad Hotel, ABCD, Bangalore Days, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and OK Kanmani. I also want to watch his recent gangster film directed by Rajeev Ravi (Kammattipadam). I think he is a very good actor. I’ve been following his films from the beginning. I think he is a very good looking, well dressed and a very stylish actor“, said Allu Sirish.

It is really heartening to see a promising actor from another industry following Malayalam movies and our actors very keenly.

I am thrilled about acting with Mohanlal: Angamaly Diaries fame Anna Reshma Rajan

Anna Reshma Rajan, who impressed the audience with her adorable perfomance as Lichi will be next seen in Mohanlal’s upcoming movie with director Lal Jose.

After the success of Angamaly Diaries, Anna was offered with many projects but she was quite hesitant to pick up whatever roles that came her way as she didn’t wish to spoil the good name her debut movie gave her.

Anna is playing the female lead in the Mohanlal starrer. She will be seen as a teacher again, just like her character of a nursing tutor in Angamaly Diaries. In the Lal Jose directorial, she is playing the role of Mary, an assistant professor in a college. Unlike the bubbly Lichi, her next outing will feature as a strict faculty member.

The actress in a recent interview shared her excitement about working with Mohanlal in her second movie. She is thrilled to bag a role in a Mohanlal film and wants to ensure that she gives her best for the movie. She will start shooting for the movie from May.

Mohanlal is playing the role of vice- principal in this movie, which is scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam. It will be a complete entertainer with equal doses of humour, action and family drama. The movie has an ensemble star cast including Priyanka Nair, Salim Kumar, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Alencier Ley, Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath Kumar, Aanandam fame Arun and Ustad Hotel fame Jagan. Shaan Rahman will be composing the music. Mohanlal’s home production banner Aashirvad Cinemas will be funding this movie.

Santhosh Pandit shares his excitement about working with Mammootty

Earlier in the day, we had reported about Santhosh Pandit working with Mammootty in the upcoming mass entertainer directed by Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev. The movie went on floors today (April 17). Udhayakrishna, fresh from the historic historic success of Pulimurugan is scripting this film.

An excited Santhosh Pandit shared the big news with his followers in Facebook. He has temporarily stalled the works of his upcoming directorial Urukku Satheesan for working in the Mammootty starrer. Incidentally, this is the first time he is starring in a movie that is not directed by him. Details about his character in the movie are not yet known.

This yet to be titled movie is touted to be a mass thriller set in the backdrop of a government arts college. The actor will be seen in a larger than life character as a strict and short tempered professor.

The movie has an ensemble star cast that includes actors like Unni Mukundan, Gokul Suresh Gopi, Mukesh, Salim Kumar, Maqbool Salmaan, Mahima Nambiar, Poonam Bajwa and many others. Kasaba fame Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is playing the female lead. Royal Cinemas owned by CH Muhammed is funding this movie.

Premam fame Althaf is impressive with his performance in Sakhavu

Nivin Pauly’s latest release Sakhavu continues to good response from the audience. The movie, directed by Sidhartha Siva is a political drama featuring Nivin in a dual role. The movie has been appreciated by the critics and common audience alike for it’s well written screenplay and praiseworthy perfomances.

Nivin, as Sakhavu Krishnan has given his career best performance. Althaf who played his sidekick in the movie provides the comic relief in the movie. It is a full fledged character that appears throughout the movie with Krishna Kumar, also played by Nivin Pauly.

Althaf’s superb comic timing, uncanny body language and peculiar voice has helped people to take notice of him. He was noted for his brief role in Alphonse Puthren’s Premam. He appeared as Mary’s naive classmate in Premam.

Althaf has also finished works for his debut directorial Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela, which stars Nivin Pauly in the lead role. The movie, touted to be a family entertainer has two female leads in Ahaana Krishna and debutant Aishwarya Lekshmi. Premam trio Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen and Krishna Sankar are also part of the cast. Nivin Pauly is producing the movie under his banner Pauly Jr Pictures and is expected to hit screens next month.

Now, that Althaf has shown his skills as a good comedy actor, the Malayali audience are looking forward to his directorial debut.

Mohanlal had recently opened up, through his Facebook handle, about his much awaited epic movie based on the MT Vasudevan Nair’s award winning novel Randamoozham. The feature film adaptation of the novel has been titled as The Mahabharata. The movie will be produced by business tycoon Dr BR Shetty on a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crores.

The actor had praised the writer’s profound knowledge in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. He said “I am filled with gratitude and extend it to the crew behind this epic movie for casting me to play Bheeman. One of MT’s cult classics Randamoozham is visualized throughout by Bheemasenan. From a kid, I used to grow up hearing the story of the Mahabharata. It is a classic which stands apart from the other classics in the Indian scriptures and arises our thinking. Likewise, Randamoozham too gave me the same feeling. I don’t remember the exact number of times I’ve read Randamoozham. It was during some instinct then I had thought about the dramatisation of Randamoozham visually. I really thank MT sir once again for giving me the opportunity to portray an important character in this movie.

He had also complimented the passion the producer Dr. BR Shetty had put in: “The film should be presented in front of the audience fully loaded with all the technical aspects needed. And therefore a humongous budget should be charted in for the flick. I salute the passion Dr. BR Shetty have had to invest Rs. 1000 crores for the movie. It would be an inspirational gift for the generations to come.

The movie will be produced as two parts and would be released in 2020. Shoot for this ambitious project will kick start in September 2018. It will be made as multilingual in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and foreign releases. There are unconfirmed reports about Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of Bheemasenan in the movie. The director VA Shrikumar and Mohanlal would be seen teaming up for a 3D movie Odiyan before the release of The Mahabharata.

Release date confirmed for Omar Lulu’s Chunkzz

Director Omar Lulu who shot to fame with his debut movie Happy Wedding, is currently busy with the post production works of his second directorial Chunkzz. His debut movie was a sleeper success which enjoyed a theatrical run of over 100 days. Similar to Happy Wedding, Chunkzz also promises to be a fun filled entertainer.

Aanandam fame Vishak Nair, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, Honey Rose, Mareena Michael and Dharmajan Bolgatty are playing the major roles in the movie. The movie is slated to hit screens all over Kerala on May 12.

Chunkzz is story about a group of mechanical engineering students, essayed by Vishak Nair, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi and Dharmajan. Honey Rose’s character Riya joins the mech department as the sole girl student.

Riya is a troublemaker of sorts who manages to create a problem wherever she goes. She is kicked out of her college in Bangalore forcing her parents enroll her in a college in Kerala.

Happy Wedding fame Mareena Michael is playing the character of Sherin, a DJ based in Bangalore. The movie’s plot evolves as the girls join the gang of boys on a trip to Goa. Three newbies Sanoop Thykoodam, Joseph Vijeesh and Aneesh Hameed have scripted this movie. They have jointly written the screenplay and dialogues for Omar Lulu’s story.

Gopi Sunder is handling the music department while Honey Bee fame Alby has cranked the camera. Dilip Dennis is in charge of the edits. The movie is produced by Vaishak Rajan under his banner Vaishaka Movies.

Reports about a movie adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair’s epic novel Randamoozham has been surfacing social media forums for a long time now. Mohanlal had earlier revealed that the project will be happening soon and some big names will be involved in the project.

Today, the makers have finally made an official announcement. The feature film adaptation of Randamoozham has been titled as The Mahabarata. The movie is being produced by business tycoon BR Shetty at a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crores (USD 150 million).

The Mahabarata will be the most expensive Indian movie ever, toppling all other biggies by a huge margin. The movie will be made as a multilingual in English, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. It will also be dubbed into all major Indian and foreign languages.

Popular ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon will be directing this movie, which is scheduled to start rolling by September 2018. The movie will be produced in two parts with the second part hitting screens within three months time from the first part’s release. They are eyeing to release the movie by 2020.

Mammootty’s much awaited movie The Great Father was released to extraordinary response from the star’s fans. True the humongous pre release hype, the movie marked a new record in the initial day collections in the Kerala box office toppling Rajinikanth’s Kabali and Pulimurugan from the top two spots.

The movie has now entered it’s third week of theatrical run. According to trade sources, the movie has grossed Rs 15.7 crores from it’s 16 days run in the Kerala box office. The Vishu releases and pirated copy leaks have had a considerable impact in the box office figures of the movie.

Kerala Box Office : Sakhavu Collection Report 2 Days

Nivin Pauly’s latest outing Sakhavu has opened to excellent inital response from the audience. The movie, directed by National award winner was given a green signal by the critics and the common audience alike.

Nivin Pauly’s strong fan base and the good word of mouth has reflected on the box office collections. According to trade sources, Sakhavu has grossed Rs 4.90 crores from Kerala from the first two days of it’s release. On the release day (April 15), the movie grossed Rs 2.75 crores followed by Rs 2.15 crores on the next day. According to trade analysts, the second day collections dipped slightly as it coincided with the Easter day.

Sakhavu features Nivin Pauly in a dual role as Krishna Kumar and sakhavu Krishnan. The latter, an yesteryear comrade, is a very challenging role and the actor has given his career best performance for playing the part. Aparna Gopinath, Aishwarya Rajesh, Gayathri Suresh, Sreenivasan, Binu Pappu, Sudheesh, Althaf, Santhosh Keezhattoor and many others are also part of the cast.
