Vysakh’s next is with Jayaram

Director Vysakh is basking in the glory of his last movie Pulimurugan, the biggest ever blockbuster in Malayalam cinema history.

The director was earlier rumoured to do a movie with Mammootty in the lead. But the director dismissed the reports. Now we hear that the director’s next will feature Jayaram in the lead. The movie will also be scripted by Pulimurugan writer Udayakrishna.

Vysakh has earlier worked with Jayaram in the superhit multi starrer Seniors.

According to sources, the new movie with Jayaram in the lead will be produced by Gokulam Movies. The movie will start rolling from next year.

Jayaram is currently busy shooting for Kannan Thamarakulam’s upcoming multi starrer Achayans. The movie has Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Unni Mukundan, Adil Ibrahim, Sanju Sivaram and Amala Paul in the lead roles. The actor’s next release is Sathya directed by Diphan.

Udhayakrishna has also made it clear that he will start working for Jayaram’s project only after finishing the scripting for Megastar Mammootty’s upcoming movie to be directed by Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev.

Meanwhile, Vysakh’s Pulimurugan recently touched the 150 crore mark. Telugu version of the movie, Manyampuli has also turned out into a great success in the box office.

Prithviraj’s Ezra is gearing up for release this Christmas season. The movie is a horror thriller which marks the Mollywood debut of South Indian actress Priya Anand.

Another actress, Ann Sheetal is also making her debut through this movie.

Ann Sheetal is playing an important character in the movie. Ezra is set in the present and in 1930s, in Jew Town in Mattanchery. The actress is playing the character Rosy in the movie. Her portions are in the pre-Independence era.

Ann Sheetal is a product of a popular film school in Mumbai. She auditioned for the role in the movie. Impressed with her performance, director Jay K decided to cast her in the movie.

Ezra also stars Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Babu Antony, Bharat Dabholkar, Vijayaraghavan and many other actors in supporting roles. The movie is produced by Mukesh R Mehta and C V Saradhi under the banner E 4 Entertainment.

Ezra is a highly expected movie after the intriguing posters and the teaser. The romantic song Lailakame has also become a chart buster.

Horror movie lovers of the state are eagerly awaiting to see a proper horror thriller in Mollywood and it is expected that Ezra will be one such movie.

Swashbuckling Kollywood hero Arya is making a comeback to Malayalam movies after a while through Megastar Mammootty’s The Great Father.

Arya is also one of the producers of the movie along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Santhosh Sivan and Shaji Natesan. They own the production house August Cinemas.

Arya is known for his chiselled physique and his daredevilry stunts. The actor has pushed the limits in action sequences for many movies like Naan Kadavul, Irandam Ulagam, Meaghamann etc.

But the actor was stunned seeing the 65 year old superstar Mammootty perform in stunt sequences without any body doubles.

Arya said, “The first thing I noticed in Mammootty is the energy in him and his well maintained physique. He exercises daily without any failure and that is one of the reasons that help in performing stunts sequences even at this age.

I don’t like doing rope stunts as they are physically very tiring but he is game for all that without using any dupes. One instance that is worth a mention was the stunt in the climax sequence. We were shooting kn Wagamon then. I saw him practicing for that stunt many times.

He did not want any dupes and tried it himself many times before getting it perfect. Both his hands were tied from behind, he had to jump and get his hands in the front. It is the kind of stunt that people like Jackie Chan perform. I was bewildered while watching Mammootty perform this scene.

Arya is playing the character Andrews Eapen in the movie which also stars Sneha, Mia George, Shaam, Baby Anikha, Malavika Mohanan, Manikandan Achari, Suraj Venjaramoodu etc in other important roles.

The Great Father was earlier scheduled to release for this Christmas but was later postponed to January 27.

We had reported that Pranav Mohanlal will be debuting as a lead actor next year through Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming movie.

The director had earlier mentioned that Pranav Mohanlal’s debut movie will be an action thriller on the lines of Memories. Now we hear that Pranav is learning Parkour to play the character perfectly in his debut movie.

Parkour is a form of acrobatic physical training that involves crossing obstacles by running, climbing, jumping, rolling and swinging.

Parkour techniques have been featured in action scenes of many Hollywood movies like Casino Royale, Bourne Ultimatum, District 13 and Prince of Persia.

Mohanlal himself revealed the information in a recent interview. He said, the basics of Parkour would be easier for Pranav than for most people as he is used to gymnastics, skydiving and rock climbing.

Pranav Mohanlal does gymnastics even now so that help in attaining a fluid and flexible body language. That will also help him while learning Parkour. Mohanlal added that he feels Mohanlal chose this movie as he might have felt it suited his skills.

Mohanlal said that the only way he can help Pranav is by producing a movie or two for him but being accepted by the audience is beyond our control.

Many talented actors have come into the film industry. Even after giving their best performances they could not succeed and win over the audience. If Pranav Mohanlal can be successful, that’s well and good. If not, he will move on to something else.

Pranav Mohanlal’s yet to be untitled debut movie with Jeethu Joseph will be produced by Mohanlal’s home production banner Aashiravad Cinemas.

Aamir Khan’s upcoming sports drama Dangal is gearing up for releasing on December 21 . Promotions for the movie are going on full in swing and Aamir is making sure he does not leave any stone unturned for publicising the movie in every possible way.

Recently the actor arranged a special screening of the movie for superstar Rajinikanth. The actor happily obliged and watched the movie.

But Aamir made another request to Rajinikanth. He asked the actor whether he could dub for his character in Dangal’s Tamil version. But the superstar politely declined Aamir’s offer.

Aamir Khan was earlier approached for playing the negative role in Rajinikanth’s upcoming sci-fi thriller 2.0. But Aamir could not do the movie owing to prior commitments.

Later the offer went to Akshay Kumar who signed the dotted the lines to play the antagonist in the movie.

Dangal is a sports drama based on the real life of a wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his two daughters in the sport. The trailer and the songs have created huge expectations for the movie.

Aamir Khan’s amazing body transformation for playing the two ages of the character has also heightened the anticipation levels.

Sakshi Tanwar, Fathima Sana Sheikh, Zaira Wasim, Sanya Malhotra and Rajkumar Rao have essayed other important roles in the movie.

Dangal is directed by Nitish Tiwari. The dubbed version of the movie is also releasing in Tamil and Telugu.

Popular composer Pritam is the music director of Dangal. The movie is produced together by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Sidharth Roy Kapoor under the banner Aamir Khan Productions and Disney World Cinemas.

Director Sathyan Anthikad is one of the most revered and senior most directors currently in the Malayalam film industry. The director has been active in the industry for the past three decades.

He has directed many superhit movies with actors like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Jayaram, Thilakan, Mukesh, Murali, Dileep etc. Even current generation actors like Nivin Pauly and Fahadh Faasil have starred in Sathyan Anthikad’s movies. The director’s next release Jomonte Suvisheshangal stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead.

In a recent interview, Sathyan Anthikad shared his experience working with Megastar Mammootty. He said, “Mammootty is like an evergreen newcomer. He approaches each movie with a newcomer’s hunger and passion.

While doing a movie with Mammootty, the director is under tension. He keeps asking questions about the character. He wants to know the various mannerisms, costume styles etc associated with the character.

He keeps asking these questions from any corner of the world. Sometimes he enters the room where scripting will be going on and start discussing about the character. Such is his hunger and passion for the art.

Malayalam cinema’s biggest ever blockbuster Pulimurugan is still running to packed audience in many theatres in the State. The movie recently did a business of 150 crores.

This action packed entertainer is the only Malayalam movie in the elite 100 crore club. Pulimurugan was written by Udhayakrishna and directed by Vysakh.

Pulimurugan is a complete entertainer with a number of action blocks and mass scenes. One thing that the movie lacked was a proper mass song that would have sent the fans into a frenzy mode.

Mohanlal’s previous mass movies like Naran, Narasimham, Ravanaprabhu and many others had a perfect mass number with MG Sreekumar’s voice and Mohanlal’s terrific dance moves. This was lacking in Pulimurugan.

But now the singer has released a remix version of the popular song “Velmuruga” from Naran for Pulimurugan. The video was shared in Mohanlal’s Facebook page. The song has clippings from the various action sequences in Pulimurugan.

Fans have a double delight with this song. They can hear both MG Sreekumar’s voice and Mohanlal’s amazing stunts in this video.

Theatre share issue; Munthirivallikalal Thalirkkumbol, Ezra and Jomonte Suvisheshangal will not release this Christmas

The producers association have decided to stop the Christmas releases over the theatre shares issue. The decision was taken in the association’s executive committee meeting that was held in Kochi today.

According to producers association president M Ranjith, shooting for ongoing movies will also be stopped owing to the issue between theatre owners and the film producers.

In the meeting organised between the producers association and the theatre owners federation, the producers demanded that the theatre owners should continue with the existing shares and there should not be any changes.

However since both the parties failed to end up on a compromise, the distribution and production of new movies have been stopped.

The exhibitors federation have decided to agree and move forward with those producers who are willing to meet the demands of the theatre owners. Liberty Basheer has said that Tamil and Hindi releases will not be affected due to this new development.

The theatre owners association, Exhibitors Federation have demanded half the the theatrical shares of new movies hereafter. This worsened the issue between the producers association and the theatre owners.

Distributors and producers have firmly opposed the theatre owners demand. So the distribution of new movies will be stopped from December 16. They argue that the new demand aroused by the theatre owners is against the forebodings.

Mohanlal’s Munthirivallikalal Thalirkkumbol, Dulquer Salmaan’s Jomonte Suvisheshangal and Prithviraj’s Ezra are the major releases from Mollywood for this festival season. Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Suriya’s next Singam 3 are also releasing in this season.

Young Telugu actor Allu Sirish is making his Mollywood debut through Major Ravi’s next 1971 Beyond Borders which stars Mohanlal in the lead role. First schedule of the movie was recently completed in Rajasthan.

Allu Sirish in a recent interview has shared his experience so far working in his Mollywood debut. The actor’s brother Allu Arjun enjoys immense popularity in Kerala among the youngsters. His brother had advised him to be authentic and have an individual style of my own.

Allu Sirish added, “Working with Mohanlal was a great experience. I play a army tank commando in the movie. We had only a very few scenes together but he was very considerate and caring.

Even when I wanted to rehearse dialogues, he encouraged me a lot. He regularly enquired about my well being. I would love to work with him again.”

When asked about his plans of getting married, the actor said he is not thinking of a married life soon as he feels that he is not ready to settle yet.

1971 Beyond Borders is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Mohanlal is reprising the character Major Mahadevan after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar.

The movie also stars Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh, Priyanka Agarwal, Zoya Zayed Khan, Nikki Galrani, Saiju Kurup, Renji Panicker and many other actors play pivotal characters in the movie.

1971 : Beyond Borders is produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner Red Rose Creations.

Social media was abuzz for the last few days after reports doing the rounds about Mohanlal and Mammootty joining hands for a new movie.

Rumours had it that, popular scriptwriter Udhayakrishna will be debuting as a director through a big budget movie with both the actors in the lead.

According to the rumour mills, Antony Perumbavoor and Anto Joseph will together produce this biggie under their banners Aashiravad Cinemas and Anto Joseph Film Company.

But Udhayakrishna has dismissed these reports as baseless and made it clear that he never dreamt of such a project. He said, such fake news can strain some good relationships within the industry.

When people create such news, they are distorting many good relationships and ruining the hardwork done by many people who have worked hard in the industry.

Udhayakrishna stated that he is now scripting a movie with Mammootty in the lead and there is no Mohanlal in it. The movie will be directed by Ajai Vasudev who debuted with Mammootty-Udhayakrishna, Sibi K Thomas’ earlier movie RajadhiRaja.

Mammootty will be playing a college professor in this complete commercial entertainer. After that Udhayakrishna will be scripting movies with Dileep and Jayaram.

Udhayakrishna’s last movie was Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan which is now the highest grossing Malayalam movie ever recently touching the 150 crore mark. The movie is still continuing its amazing run in theatres.

Mohanlal and Mammootty are also busy with their own projects. Mammootty is currently shooting for director Ranjith’s Puthan Panam after which he will be joining the sets of 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar’s next.

Mohanlal meanwhile has completed the first schedule of his upcoming war movie 1971 : Beyond Borders directed by Major Ravi.

He will be joining B Unnikrishnan’s big budget movie in January. The actor’s next release is Munthirivallikalal Thalirkkumbol, slated to release on December 22.
