After Pulimurugan, blockbuster movie Oppam to Telugu

Mohanlal starrer Oppam had recently broken the collection record set by Drishyam, and thereby became the second highest grosser in Malayalam cinema after Pulimurugan.

Oppam directed by Priyadarshan was a crime thriller about a blind man trying to protect a girl from a serial killer. Mohanlal played the blind man Jayaraman in the movie while Kollywood actor Samuthirakani played the antagonist.

The movie was both critically and commercially acclaimed with critics praising Priyadarshan’s skilled direction and the lead cast’s performance.

It was earlier rumoured that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan will be playing the lead in the Tamil version. But now Priyadarshan has confirmed that the movie will not be remade, but will instead be dubbed and released in Tamil.

The movie will also be dubbed in Telugu clearly inspired after the success of Mohanlal’s previous movies Vismayam and Janatha Garage. The actor now enjoys huge popularity among the masses. So the makers will be hoping for a great opening.

Oppam will be remade in Kannada and Hindi. Superstar Shiv Rajkumar will be playing the lead in Kannada. Right now, Priyadarshan is busy with the preproduction works of his new movie starring Akshay Kumar. Only after finishing the movie, he will start the works for Oppam remake.

Meanwhile, Oppam released during the Onam season this year is currently marching towards the 100 day mark.

Suriya’s Singam 3 aka S3 release postponed ?

Singam 3 is actor Suriya’s latest upcoming movie. It is the third installment in the popular Singam franchise. The movie scheduled for release on Decemeber 16 has been postponed to release after a week on Decemeber 23.

Earlier it was reported that S3 was scheduled to release during the Diwali season, but Suriya postponed the movie for a further so that his brother Karthi’s big budget fantasy drama, Kaashmora can have a large scale release.

S3 directed by Hari, features two female leads in Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan. Suriya will be continuing his role as the strict and forthright cop, Durai Singam.

Singam 3 aka S3 is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner Studio Green and Aadnah Arts.

Popular TV actor Thakur Anoop Singh is the antagonist in the movie. Other actors include Radhika Sarathkumar, Soori, Robo Shankar, Krish, Nithin Sathya and Chaams played support actors in the movie.

Harris Jayaraj is composing the music for the first time in Singam series. He replaced the regular Devi Sri Prasad. The music album was released last week and been getting good reviews. But the teaser for the movie was severely criticized for the flashy cuts and Suriya’s loudness.

This postponement has come as a great shock for the fans of the actor who were waiting forward for a typical mass masala entertainer.

Mollywood’s Young Super Star Nivin Pauly’s much expected upcoming movie Sakhavu’s first look poster was released today. The poster was shared by Nivin Pauly in his official Facebook page.

Sakhavu is directed by National award winning filmmaker Sidhartha Siva (101 Chodyangal fame). It is a socio-political drama in which Nivin Pauly is playing the role or Krishna Kumar, a communist student leader. The poster resembles a painting on a wall with Nivin Pauly in the “Inquilab Zindabad” posture.

The movie has Aparnna Gopinath, Jamna Pyari fame Gayathri Suresh and Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh as the female leads. Aparnna Gopinath is playing the role of a student activist in the movie. Her character Neeti is a bold and smart graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Delhi.

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA), Madhyamam Daily and UAE Exchange’s new initiative Akshara Veedu should be taken by the public, said Superstar Mohanlal.

He added, It is a dream of every living being to own a house. Only those who do not have a shelter of their own, will know the anguish.

There are many people in our society who have worked for the betterment of others but forgot to build a life for themselves. The society should lend a helping hand to such people.

Mohanlal also added that, the Akshara Veedu scheme should not be restricted to just 51 houses. People from all corners of the society should come forward and support this initiative. Mohanlal was talking to a popular media channel.

Akshara Veedu is an initiative of Madhyamam daily in association with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and UAE Exchange to help the homeless destitutes in the state.

The logo launching ceremony was recently held in Kochi. Megastar Mammootty, AMMA president Innocent, MP, Idavela Babu, Siddhique, film maker Siddhique, Madhyamam-Media One Group Editor O Abdurahman, UAE Exchange Chief Marketing Officer B Gopakumar and UAE Exchange India M D George Antony attended the event on Saturday.

The actor has now signed for a new movie with director Shafi, written by Sachi. This movie will be Shafi’s with Sachi third movie after the superhit movies Chocolate and Makeup Man.

Biju Menon has earlier worked with director Shafi in Marykkondoru Kunjaadu. In fact, it was his role in the movie that gave him a image make over after which the actor started doing more humorous roles. Now the actor is a hot favourite among the audience.

This new movie based on a story by Najim Koya will also be a entertainer. Director Shafi has told that this yet to be titled movie will be slightly different from his previous films.

According to the director, Biju Menon’s character will have some unique quirks that will be appealing to the family audience. Rest of the cast are yet to be finalized.

Shafi, will also be doing a movie with Megastar Mammootty after completing this movie. Mammootty also is busy shooting for director Ranjith’s Puthan Panam.

Meanwhile, Biju Menon is currently shooting for Rakshadikari Baiju directed by Ranjan Pramod.

After that he will be joining the sets of Lakshyam directed by debutant Anzar Khan. Director Jeethu Joseph is scripting this movie. Indrajith and Biju Menon are playing the leads in this movie where both of them will be playing the role of convicts.

Nadirshah sprang a surprise to the audience when he announced his next movie post the massive success of his debut movie, Amar Akbar Anthony.

Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, his second movie had no big stars in the lead. But still the movie has emerged successful and is currently doing great business in the box office.

Now reports are doing the rounds that his next movie will star Megastar Mammootty in the lead. But Nadirshah has said that talks are still on and it is too early to comment on the project.

Apparently, Nadirshah had talked to Mammootty about doing a movie to which the actor readily agreed.
But the subject or other details have not yet been finalized.

In a recent interview when asked about why he decided to do a movie with a relatively smaller cast when compared to his debut movie which was a multi starrer he said that in his movies, subject is the hero.

He added that he approaches an artist with a script only after he is confident about the content. Most of the stars in Malayalam are busy actors, so patience is required while doing a movie because there will be a waiting period.

Nadirshah added that he makes sure his films have all the right elements in it, so that people can enjoy the movie when they visit the theatres spending their hard earned money.

Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan starring Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Prayaga Martin, Dharmajan, Salim Kumar and many other actors is welcomed with open arms by the audience.

Nadirshah is appreciated for the risk he took while casting smaller actors. He was also praised sticking to his forte, comedy and making another commercially successful movie.
