Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan Review
Nadirshah is back with his second directorial Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. He made his debut with the blockbuster movie Amar Akbar Anthony starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran and Jayasurya in the lead.
Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan stars Vishnu Unnikrishnan as the main lead. He was the script writer for both Amar Akbar Anthony and Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. This movie was much expected because popular actor Dileep produced it under his banner Graand Productions.
Similar to his debut movie, Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan is also a out and out comedy entertainer.
An youngster (Siju Wilson) decides to commit suicide due to his love failure. He comes to know about Kichu from a letter he gets from the suicide point.
Surendran (Siddique) hailing from Kattappana is a huge fan of actor Jayan. After Jayan’s death, in the hope of becoming the next big thing in the industry Surendran goes to Madras. But he returns back to his hometown after getting no chances in cinema. His hometown people mock him for failing to get a chance in films. So out of humiliation Surendran swears that his son will become a big star in the film industry.
But Surendran’s son, Kichu does not have the good looks or brains to make it big in the industry. People make fun of him wherever he goes. Upon becoming a youth, Kichu’s yearning to become an actor becomes stronger. He also has two other wishes. Whether Kichu can fulfill his dreams forms the rest of the plot.
Nadirshah’s expertise in humour scenes has helped him in this movie also. Even in emotional scenes, the director has tried to use lots of humour to entertain the audience. Even though the movie does not have anything new to offer in the plot, the director succeeds in making the audience entertained right through out the movie. Most of the scenes are predictable, but the humour entwined during these scenes works big time.
Vishnu Unnikrishnan who played the leas role has justified his character. He delivers fine performance during humour and emotional scenes alike. Another amazing performance in the movie is by Dharmajan who is seen right through the movie as Kichu’s friend. His dialogue delivery and timing during the humour scenes are amazing.
Making a comeback after a long time, Salim Kumar has also given a superb performance. Even though there is a bit of lag during some comedy scenes, he has shown that he has the same fire in him just like in his heydays.
Other supporting actors like Prayaga Martin, Lijo Mol Jose, Siddique, Siju Wilson and Swasika have all played their parts perfectly.
Apart from the last scene and the songs, Nadirshah has succeeded as a director. All the songs and lyrics in were very poor. Cameraman Shyam Dath and editor John Kutty did exactly what the movie demanded.
On a whole Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan is an enjoyable watch for those people who pay their 120 bucks with the sole reason of getting entertained.
