Anupama Parameshwaran made her debut through the last year sensational blockbuster named Premam and with that film she become popular all over in South India.

Then we saw her in the Malayalam movie James and Alice in which she played a cameo. We saw her as heroine in other languages later. She played the female lead of Dhanush in Tamil film Kodi and also played an important character in the Telugu film A Aa.

We also saw her in the Telugu version of Premam. Now, she is coming with her second Malayalam film as a heroine and it will be Sathyan Anthikkad directorial movie named Jomonte Suvisheshangal which has Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. The flick will hit the screens in this coming Christmas season.

In a recent media interview, she told about her experience of working with Dulquer Salmaan. She is of the opinion that we have to learn the lessons of hard work from Dulquer Salmaan.

She says that Dulquer’s personality was enchanting and he is a wonderful human being. Anupama explains that she learned a lot from him and she believes that Jomonte Suvisheshangal will be a break for her.

The movie was written by Dr. Iqbal Kuttipuram and produced by Sethu Mannarkkad. Popular actor Mukesh and Kakka Muttai fame heroine Aishwarya Rajesh is also playing important characters in this movie.

No strong characters for heroines in Mollywood : Roma Asrani

Roma Asrani who made her debut through the movie Notebook has been keeping a low profile for sometime now.

In a recent interview, the actress has said that Malayalam movies nowadays do not have strong female characters. Roma got a very big opening through Notebook, directed by Rosshan Andrews. She later followed it up with many other movies where she bagged strong characters to portray. She has acted in movies like Chocolate, July 4, Shakespeare M A Malayalam, Lollypop etc.

The actress says, I waited for more such roles that has some importance in the plot but not many came my way. During that time many directors asked me to do negative roles but I was not interested in those kind of roles.

After a short gap she acted in a movie titled Namasthe Bali directed by K V Bejoy starring Aju Varghese, Balu Varghese and Manoj K Jayan in the lead. Roma has said that eventhough the movie did not do well commercially she got a very good role to play.

The actress who was on a sabbatical break after that is now acting in a movie titled Sathya starring Jayaram in the lead. Roma says that she has a very interesting character that has throughout importance in the movie.

Sathya is an action thriller movie written by A K Sajan and directed by Diphan.

Aparna Gopinath in Nivin Pauly’s Sakhavu

Aparna Gopinath will be playing a student activist in Nivin Pauly’s upcoming film Sakhavu. She will be playing the role of Neeti, a bold and smart graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Delhi.

Aparna Gopinath made her entry into cinema in ABCD playing a similar role. ABCD directed by Martin Prakkat had her portraying the character Madhumita, a bold student activist with a tomboyish look.

Sakhavu directed by National award winning filmmaker Sidharatha Siva is a movie based on campus politics. Nivin Pauly is playing the role of Krishnakumar, a communist leader in the movie.

Apart from Aparna Gopinath, two other female leads are also there in the movie. Kakka Muttai fame Aishwarya Rajesh and Gayathri Suresh will also be playing pivotal roles in Sakhavu.

Popular cinematographer in Kollywood, George C Williams will be the cameraman in Sakhavu. He has earlier worked in movies like Raja Rani, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Kaththi and Theri.

Sakhavu is a much expected movie because of some big names both in the cast and crew. Also the fact that Malayali audience have always had a soft corner for campus movies.

Dulquer Salmaan has completed the shoot for his upcoming movie Jomonte Suvisheshangal directed by ace filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad.

Dulquer recently said that he had a memorable time shooting with the team which he will cherish forever. He added that he feels sad that shoot for the movie is over now.

Dulquer’s note reads, I am very happy and blessed that I could be a part of such a great movie like Jomonte Suvisheshangal. The movie is just like our lives filled with happiness, sorrow, problems etc.

I owe a lot to director Sathyan Anthikad for considering me to play the lead in this movie. He is someone who I started admiring right form my childhood days. Now he is like a hero to me. Sathyan sir oozes lots of positive energy and happiness. He has a very good knowledge of the craft and knows exactly what the scene demands.

For me it was a great experience working with such a team. I could learn a lot of new things while working in this movie. Everyone has given their best and played their parts perfectly.

Cinematographer S Kumar, Mukesh, Innocent, Anupama Parameswaran, Aishwarya Rajesh, Akhil, Kunjunni, Sethu everyone worked hard for the film. I am sure Jomonte Suvisheshangal will be embraced by the audience and turn out into a great success.

The movie is a family entertainer that revolves around a rich family in Trissur. Dulquer Salmaan is playing the role of Jomon hailing from from an affluent business family. Mukesh will be playing the role of his father Vincent. This is the first time both the actors are sharing the screen space. Muthumani and Vinu Mohan play Dulquer’s siblings in the movie.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal is scripted by Dr. Iqbal Kuttippuram who has earlier scripted movies like Arabikatha, Niram, Diamond Necklace, Vikramadithyan etc.

Sathyan Anthikad and Iqbal Kuttippuram last worked together for the Fahad Fazil starrer Oru Indian Pranayakatha which was also a commercially successful movie.

Vidya Sagar is composing music for the movie. The movie is produced by Sethu Manarkkad under the banner Full Moon Cinemas. Jomonte Suvisheshangal is scheduled for a Christmas release.

Master Chethan Jayalal has made a mark in the industry with his performances in movies like 5 Sundarikal, ABCD and Charlie. But it was his latest movie Guppy, that made him a favourite among the audience and critics.

This young actor gave an astonishing performance in Guppy directed by John Paul George. The movie also starred Tovino Thomas as the other main lead. Chethan’s performance in the movie was highly appreciated.

Though the movie was critically acclaimed, it did not enjoy a good theatrical run. Only after the DVDs released, Guppy got its due recognition.

Master Chethan in an interview has said that he would love to talk to Mohanlal. He has acted in movies like Lailaa O Lailaa and more recently in the blockbuster Oppam. But he could not talk to the superstar on both the occasions.

He wanted to talk to Mohanlal in the sets of Oppam, but the superstar was busy reading script. He was afraid of disturbing him and could not talk to him. But Master Chethan has said that he will definitely talk to Mohanlal when he meets him next time.

In such a short period, the young boy has acted with stars like Mohanlal, Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. He said, he has not yet got a chance to act with Mammootty.

Master Chethan is now studying in 10th standard. He hails from Edavanakkad in Ernakulam. He says that, many of his neighbors are still not aware about him acting in cinema. People started recognizing him only after the release of Guppy.

Mammootty lends financial support to actor Munshi Venu

We had earlier reported about the condition of actor Munshi Venu who is undergoing treatment for kidney failure.

Actors Mammootty and Rajeev Pillai came forward to lend financial support to the actor who is battling for life without enough money for treatment.

Munshi Venu who has acted in more than 75 movies in Mollywood is currently admitted in the palliative care unit in Muringoor, Chalakkudy. He is undergoing treatment in St James Hospital in Angamaly for kidney related ailments.

The actor has been undergoing dialysis after being diagnosed with kidney failure six months back. The doctors have advised him for kidney transplantation.

Cost for each dialysis and the medicines cost around 4000 rupees and the poor actor could not afford it. He had to undergo dialysis for 12 times in a month.

Munshi Venu is homeless and was staying in a lodge in Chalakkudy for the past 10 years. He could not afford for both the rent and the treatment, so he had to move of the lodge recently.

The actor has not received any financial help from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) as he is no more a member of the association. He is not a member because he could not afford to pay the huge membership fees.

At a time when Malayalam cinema is basking in the glory of 50 and 100 crores, it is very sad that only two actors have lent financial support to a fellow actor who is battling for life.

Prithviraj-Vidya Balan movie Aami to start rolling next month

We had earlier reported that veteran director Kamal will be making a biopic on the life of Malayalam’s legendary writer Madhavikutty.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will play the lead role in this movie titled as Aami. Prithviraj Sukumaran will also be playing an important role in this movie.

Madhavikutty was a revolutionary writer who was famous for her writings. Madhavikutty was fondly called as Aami by many people. Aami means I in Bengali language.

Madhavikutty aka Kamala Surraya’s life was an open book that was also marred by many controversies. She revolutionized writings with her honest treatment of female sexuality and infused her writing with power.

Vidya Balan is playing the role of Madhavikutty in this movie. Aami will focus more on the personal life of the writer.

The movie’s songs are now being recorded in Ajivasam Studio in Mumbai. There are four songs in the movie out of which two are in Hindi. Famous lyricist Gulzar will be writing the Hindi songs.

Thoufeeq Quershi is the music director for the movie while Oscar award winning sound designer Resul Pookkutty is also part of the movie. Aami is produced by P T Rafel.

Aami also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran playing a pivotal role. Interestingly Vidya Balan’s debut movie was Chakram which had Mohanlal and Dileep in the lead. But the shoot was dropped after sometime only to be made later with Prithviraj playing the lead role.

Murali Gopy and Anoop Menon are also part of the cast. The movie will go on floors from the 18th of next month. Shooting will happen in Kerala, Kolkata and Mumbai.

AR Rahman to score for Ilayathalapathy’s Vijay 61 ?

We had earlier reported that Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s next movie will be with young filmmaker Atlee, who previously directed Vijay in the blockbuster Theri.

The latest we hear is that Mozart of Madras AR Rahman is currently in talks for the movie. In both his movies, Raja Rani and Theri, Atlee preferred G V Prakash as the music director. But this time it is told that the director is trying to rope in AR Rahman.

AR Rahman has only worked for two movies starring Vijay, Udhaya and Azhagiya Tamizh Magan. There were also reports that Vijayendra Prasad who was the writer for movies like Magadheera, Eega, Baahubali, Bhajrangi Bhaijaan will be working with Atlee in this new project. Most of the portions of the movie will be filmed in US.

Vijay’s next release Bairavaa is in its final stages and is scheduled to release during Pongal next year. Keerthy Suresh will be playing the female lead in Bairavaa, directed by Azhagiya Tamizh Magan fame Bharathan. Santosh Narayanan is composing music for the movie.

We hear that Vijay will take a short break after Bairavaa and then only join Atlee’s project.
